Great location for a place to crash after a night out.

The Ox is in a great location, with a delicious looking restaurant (we went elsewhere for a celebration party, so can’t comment on the food - but it smelled incredible!), and a friendly bar.

The hotel rooms are basic, and very tired. There was paint peeling off the walls in multiple places, and I was disappointed there was no iron in the room. But for what we needed - a place to lay our heads after a party - it did the job.

The room. Road noise TV was very dated, no back on the remote No shower just a bath with a loose shower head laying in the bath with not enough ceiling height to stand up

Was a convenient location bars & restaurants a short walk away

Easy to find & parking was made available Friendly greeting from the bar man & the manager who was very helpful

It was a very hot night & it was too noisy with the window open & the fan struggled to cool the room

Great staff

Staff we’re really great and the food was lovely in the restaurant. Decor in restaurant was really lovely too. However the bedroom was poor. Very stuffy. We couldn’t open the window. The room was tiny and one side of bed didn’t have a bed side table. Bathroom was good.

Staff were very helpfull, room was clean with ample tea and coffee, toiletries and good quality bedding and towels.

Net curtains were ripped so please replace and paint peeling in a couple of places

Very average - probably would choose somewhere else next time

The food at the restaurant was good. Staff were able to provide an iron and ironing board. Good decor in the restaurant but some of the glasses on the table were dirty. The bathroom was fine - not too old. Good tea and coffee station with biscuits and hot chocolate - replenished daily.

The rooms didn't feel like the pictures - much older, more dated and the bed frame had loads of horrible yellow stains. The pillow cases were grey instead of white (definitely meant to be white). The carpet felt dirty and like I didn't want to walk barefoot on it. The TV didn't work, the image was distorted. The breakfast was passable, nothing spectacular but the price was very good, had two teas, two breakfasts and two glasses of orange juice for £13.

Car park was full but fortunately was able to park on the road nearby for free as it was a weekend. Would have had to pay to park in a car park had it been in the week

The location is great and has a local vibe

Reservations sent an email asking if we would like to book for dinner which we replied to. Only to find dinner not being served in fact the restaurant was closed. The bar also closed early removing all communal areas to sit. And sadly the chef failed to turn up to cook our breakfast

We arrived before check in as we were due to go to a wedding, the friendly staff let us use the room to get ready and provide the key before the room was ready & it was really appreciated. We wish we could of stayed longer and tried the restaurant because it looked beautiful and we’re keen to come back! Great stay, with the most friendly staff

Staff were pleasant and helpful, we had a meal in the thai restaurant and breakfast the next day were lovely, the room was ok, a little tired but ok for 1 night. The decor in the pub and restaurant is great and very welcoming.

Theres parking behind the ox, but so small and tight to get in, just big enough for 4 cars,. Car park across the road only let's you do 4hrs max, not sure if you'd want to leave it there all night either. I booked it as we were going to the lighthouse which is 25mins walk away, or 5 mins in a taxi. Booked it on booking.com and all in all probably over priced at £107 for a B&B Bearing in mind it's on a main road junction.

Good basic bedroom and facilities

The bed was comfortable and the shower was hot. Hot drinks and bottled water provided.

The room was cold so I used both quilts. There was no chef so no evening meal or breakfast available

Excellent central point for a Bournemouth and Poole short stay

Wonderful staff and super bed and breakfast

The door and window were quite loose, they looked like the original fittings, so they banged quite a lot during the night as it was fairly windy. Also the toilet was a very tight fit next to the huge shower and if myself or my sister were any bigger we would have been quite claustrophobic.

It was ok for the night.

I liked the offer of water and tea/coffee facilities in the room.

The room could definitely do with a makeover....could really hear the road,window was not closed at the bottom and the breeze was blowing the net curtain. Lighting in room was poor, room could do with a fresh coat of paint and the bathroom tiles om the floor were cracked which I found a chipped bit of in the morning. Didn't think the amount I paid lived up to the room. And the car park is tiny.

The breakfast was good, although not too much choice

The whole facility was tired. The room was poorly equipped, the en suite was in need of refurbishment with cracked tiles & shower tray & the bed was awful.
