IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
• This property is riverfront on a whitewater river. All access and use of the river is at your own risk. You must be prepared to closely watch your children (and husbands/boyfriends)!
• This property used to have a hot tub. It was removed in early 2018. All references to its presence have been removed form the listing itself, but we cannot delete previous reviews which may have mentioned this feature. It is no longer there.
• Like all major rivers, the French Broad river canyon also serves as a transportation artery. This includes the road that this home is located on and a rail line across the river. There are no crossings, so the trains do not blow their whistles or ring bells... you'll occasionally hear the romantic rumble of the trains over the sound of the river. This is a minor trade-off to being on the riverfront, but we believe you'll agree it's a worthy one.

We stayed there with 20 people and we all had a ton of space, comfortable beds and large bathrooms

Great vacation! Plenty of bedrooms and baths.
Kitchen is smaller than you would wish but great pantry for you to store your supplies. Has a Kurig and drip coffee pot and slow cooker. But you will need to bring your own colander if you are making spaghetti 😊
We enjoyed the tables and umbrellas on the breezeway for meals.
A Muscovy Duck is in residence, our granddaughter named Chuck the Duck.
We cooked hotdogs and roasted marshmallows in the fire pit one evening.
A wonderful stay with children and grandchildren!

Jason was on top of everything. Great communication. There were a few things broken before we got there but he planned on fixing them. The house was perfect for our group of 13. The beds were very comfortable and the house was clean. We ate all of our meals on the beautiful deck overlooking the river- that was the best!
Bring toilet paper and bars of soap. Amenities were minimal. There was a duck we named Elvis who showed up every day and knocked on the front door. ☺️ We will all miss Elvis! So much to do in this area- we highly recommend the trip!

I travel with my husband and four other couples every other year. This past trip was the one we were lucky enough to plan. So thankful we found this incredible home on the river! We each had plenty of room + our own bathrooms. We enjoyed drinking coffee down by the river in the morning, and then adult beverages by the fire at night. The view never got old! And we loved our new friend Florence AKA "Flo", the muscovy duck who was pretty much a pet on the property. She was a highlight! Please don't pass this place up - it was super clean, the hosts are quick to respond and the view simply can't be beat!! We will be back!

We reserved the home for a Mothers Day Girls Trip. The house was as it was described . Beautiful property! Loved seeing the ducks along the river. The hosts were very responsive to my questions and provided a detailed house book, that included things to and restaurants.
One thing that house needs is a full length mirror. The house wasn't as clean as I had hoped.
Over all we had a great time on the property and loved seeing Asheville.

The property was amazing. Our wedding was spectacular.

We had a great time on our recent stay in Asheville. The house was spacious. As a large group we could all eat together inside and outside. And we could also easily find our own spaces as well. This was good since it rained a few days on the trip.

The property was beautiful and had a lot of room for us the spread out! There were 11 of us! House was stocked with everything we needed and the owner was very quick to respond with questions! Even had a foosball dropped off at the house when we couldn’t find one! Would highly recommend this property!

Our group thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the French Broad River Lodge over Thanksgiving. In the world of real estate there's a popular quote that maintains the three things you look for in property are location, location, location. That quote is just as applicable to this property. We were all amazed that we were situated in a rather bucolic setting smack dab on the French Broad River, but within 20 minutes we could be in the center of Asheville. There is no shortage of nearby activities to occupy your time and dining and water hole opportunities abound--not enough time to cover them all here. However, not mentioned in the owner's guide was a relatively new and nearby brewery called the Salt Face Mule. They offer a large variety of excellent craft beer brewed in house and their laid-back food menu is a perfect match for even the most discriminating palates. I think we'll be making a return visit to this property and pick up where we left off.

Enjoyed our stay. It’s a beautiful setting on the river with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms. Dishwasher didn’t clean as well as we would have liked and it would have been helpful to have instructions on how to operate the tv’s. Overall it was a great place for a large gathering.

We had a family event and multiple people stay at the lodge over 5 days. This was the most beautiful property and the owner was very accommodating. The outdoor space was perfect for our event and the amount of seating was incredible! I could not have asked for a better experience for our family. The rooms and bathrooms were impeciblely clean and comfortable.

The house was just as described and spotless clean. It has so much room there for a group and plenty of room for everyone to eat meals together. Kitchen was stocked and the extra refrigerator in the carport is great for drinks and water
We will definitely return

This was a wonderful property - everything was perfect: location, grounds, exterior view, and the layout. It was clean, & the kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, pots & pans, & appliances. There were plenty of towels provided. The exterior was well maintained. It had lots of seating & eating areas. It was a beautiful peaceful spot on the river in a park-like setting.

This home was perfect for our large family vacation. Each bedroom was spacious and made very comfortable with high quality linens, mattresses, and black out curtains. There was ample dining spaces and we loved having our meals on the large deck. The home is conveniently located to Asheville but the large yard and river location also offered plenty of entertainment. We can't wait to come back!

Therapy! When you find yourself in the hustle and bustle of life throughout the year rather it be work, related or family matters, it can become overwhelming’ with that being said this home was so peaceful and breathtaking! This was our therapy to release , and to cast all cares by the river.
This home is very clean and spacious the location was great the river is to die for. I admonish anyone that is seeking for that Heaven on Earth experience! With peace and therapy this is truly the home.
THANK YOU!! JASON AND TONYA

We used the property of a rehearsal dinner and had a food truck come in to cater. It worked out perfectly. One day there was a small issue with the water but it was corrected very quickly. The house amenities are amazing and the land is just beautiful. Could not have asked for a better experience. Also there is a duck that makes an appearence everyday that made our family so happy!

We were in Asheville for our daughter’s wedding with family from Florida to Massachusetts and this house was perfect for us. Great location and beautiful views. We will be back for another vacation here.

We couldn’t have had a nicer time at The French Broad Lodge. The house was spotless, well-equipped, beautifully furnished, and had many all-new looking bathrooms.
The location on the river was serene and peaceful. The house has many outdoor spaces to enjoy.
The owner, Jason, was friendly, responsive, and professional throughout the entire process.
I’d rent this home again in a heartbeat.

The River Lodge is great in every way. Just far enough from Asheville, but not TOO far. The location is a short drive from groceries and an ABC store, so no need to go all the way in to town.
The Lodge itself is very modern, with copious amounts of sunlight from the great windows overlooking the French Broad. Everything was extremely clean upon arrival. All appliances and cooking accessories you could ask for, including multiple coffee pots, which we were glad to have with a group of 11. Everyone said their beds slept great and the bathrooms are very nice.
Enough with the inside, let's talk about where this place really shines: OUTSIDE! Multiple living spaces outside, each of which is great in it's own way. We had all of our meals on the 2nd floor patio, which has seating for probably 20. It was great to watch the sun come up on the river with your coffee from this vantage point.
Downstairs there is a great fire pit on the lower patio, we made smores every night there. Then, to cap it off, there is a sitting area and another fire pit right next to the river, along with several picnic tables. There is also a large green area/lawn to the north where we played whiffle ball and threw the frisbee around. This play really has everything you could ask for. 10/10.

We booked this home for our daughters wedding at Long Leaf Vineyard. It was a perfect location to get to the venue and downtown Asheville. The home is well equipped with anything you may need in the kitchen, plenty of seating for everyone and bedrooms are spacious. Sitting outside listening to the river was very peaceful.

Nice property, especially for large groups. The home was literally on the French Broad River and what a view. The only issue we encountered was the well water changed from clear to murky - most likely due to the amount of rain we had received. Jason responded by sending maintenance to the house to install new filters. Didn’t clear the water up for our stay but hopefully will be resolved for the next occupants.

This property has a beautiful view of the French Broad River. We chose this location for our immediate family for a fun wedding weekend because it was close to downtown and the wedding venue in the historic Montford neighborhood. It also served as the perfect location for about 50 quests for the wedding rehearsal dinner. Most of our guest used Uber or a taxi to get to and from the property. However, it did take a little bit longer to confirm a ride. It is a little scary pulling of the driveway.
The house is great for large groups with especially with the number of ensuite bathrooms. The quest enjoyed the ping pong and foosball tables and the different level for seating. The upper deck has a great view of the river for dinning or just seating outside. We were glad to have the two additional refrigerators for the food and beverages. The kitchen is small but well stock with utensils and appliances.
The host, Jason was very accommodating and was quick to respond when we reached out with questions regarding the house.

We loved your property! The house is unique, clean, and roomy. The river view is spectacular! The bedding and bath linens are luxurious - all of my friends wanted that included in the review!

We truly enjoyed our stay here! Perfect property for multi-family rental. We had three families and each family had their own floor! Couldn't have asked for a better set-up. The River view is stunning and Frank (who we named) the friendly duck was such a highlight to our kiddos! He stopped just short of entering the house and everyone just thought it was hilarious! Fire pit was used almost every night (we had a cold week) and the 10-12 minute drive to Asheville is just perfection. We hope to rent it again next year! Thanks so much for allowing us to stay in your home!

The location to downtown Asheville could not be beat, plus looking out on the river was amazing. The rooms were all clean and as indicated on the site. Bathrooms were fantastic. Perfect place to stay.

I had a wonderful stay with a group of friends at this home. It was easy for enough10 of us to stay. There were great amenities in the location and in the home. There had even more small appliances than I expected which was awesome and added to the functionality of the kitchen. Being right on the river was so beautiful and peaceful. Loved seeing all the nature and having plenty of space to enjoy the views. I highly recommend this home to anyone!
4.0
This view can’t be beat, it is beautiful. The house was also great and fit all of our family well. The kitchen was the most well stocked kitchen of any we have ever stayed at as far as small appliances and dishes. We didn’t really love the seating for the living areas - when you have 18 people staying in a home, a small couch and two chairs in the upstairs living room is no where near enough to congregate - and the wooden benches aren’t comfortable. The duck that stalks the house on the property is very annoying, I realize it’s hard to do much about wild animals but the poop he leaves all over the ground by the two entrance doors is so unpleasant and constantly having to be cleaned up so it isn’t tracked in the house, not what we want to do on vacation.
Overall, the house was great and fit us well. The beds were comfortable, the bathrooms were beautiful. Be careful pulling out of the driveway, people fly down this road.
5.0
We had a wonderful time at this outstanding property. Our extended family (siblings, children, and grandchildren) gathered for an early Christmas including a tour of Biltmore which was a short drive away.
The bedrooms were well appointed, with multiple en-suite options for adults and many configurations for the kids to share/slumber party. The kitchen was on the small side, but there were two extra refrigerators on the property to help with overflow. If you aren’t in the mood to cook, the house is close enough to Asheville proper for Door Dash and Grub Hub.
The River view is beautiful, with huge open spaces for the main event - nerf war.
If you are considering this property for your stay, I highly recommend that you say yes to the space.

This property is absolutely beautiful! Comfortable beds, spacious common areas, gorgeous views, plenty of bathrooms, 8 of us came for a bachelorette week and we all had plenty of privacy! I would definitely stay there again!

Excellent house for large groups. All bedrooms and bathrooms are equally well done. The outside space is exceptional with different levels of seating and views of the river. The host was very accommodating and helpful. The location is close to the city. The kitchen needs an update. Difficult to do dinner for a large group.
The dining room and living spaces were all very well done. I highly recommend this house for your visit to the Ashville area.
