About this house rental
Cocodimama is situated at the center of picture-perfect Alabaster Bay’s spectacular beach, recently featured on the cover of Conde Nast Travler. Alabaster Beach stretches for a mile along the crystal clear azure waters of the Caribbean Sea. The water on this beach is famously calm, typically as calm as a lake. The island is so narrow at this point that guests can stroll to the Atlantic Ocean to enjoy the splendor of miles of uninterrupted pink sand beach as they watch the Atlantic’s blue-green waters roll ashore over nearby reefs. The combination of the Caribbean Sea, Atlantic Ocean, rolling green hills, and two extraordinary beaches presents our resort guests with a one of kind experience.
The resort’s colonial Main House (the white and blue building in the photos) is the perfect gathering spot for large groups. This very large and comfortable beachfront interior features a spacious lounge area with sofas, a very large dining room, commercial kitchen, full bar and bar area with flat screen TV, and men’s and women’s rest rooms. Outside the dining room, the spacious beachfront deck is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal or an evening cocktail and our legendary sunsets. The yellow, green, and red buildings in the photos each contain 4 hotel rooms. Each room has a full en-suite bathroom. All of our spacious rooms are direct beachfront, steps from the sand, and feature unobstructed beach, ocean, and sunset views.
Cocodimama is rented out to just one group at a time. You will have the entire resort to yourself. Pricing is on a sliding scale based on the number of guests. The number of rooms provided will depend on the size of your group (one room for each two guests). Daily housekeeping is included. For groups that need more than 12 rooms, the two-bedroom, two-bath manager's suite is available for an additional charge, bringing the total number of rooms to 14.
Cocodimama has 3 double rooms (each with two queen beds) and 3 king/single rooms which contain both a king bed and a single bed, and 6 king rooms, each with a king bed. The manager's suite has one king bed suite and one queen bed suite.
Amenities include super-fast Starlink WIFI, Starlink satellite TV, daily housekeeping, charcoal grill, back-up generator (for the Main House only), and air conditioning in all rooms except for the commercial kitchen.
Cocodimama is located just six miles (less than a 10-minute drive) from Governors Harbour, the main town on the island. Governors Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from fisherman at the town dock, or visit the recently restored Haynes Library, which dates from 1897, for the weekly coffee hour for foreign residents and tourists. . Governors Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, and a medical clinic. Friday night Fish Fry in Governors Harbour, a street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink, and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.
Cocodimama is just two miles from the boutique luxury resort Sky Beach Club, which has an excellent beachfront restaurant and infinity pool, with swim up cocktail bar and poolside service all day long. Other restaurants in the area include Tippy’s (international and fusion) and The Rainbow Inn (famous for its steaks). The above all have live music one or more nights a week, so there is live entertainment somewhere nearby almost every night. The Governors Harbour area also has numerous little takeouts and restaurants offering local cuisine, including Da Perk (coffee and sandwich shop), The Buccaneer (salads, burgers, wraps), Mate and Jenny’s (pizza and Bahamian) and the Sunset Inn (local cuisine).
Eleuthera is famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches, and for being safe and friendly. You can rent power boats, sailboats, kayaks, paddleboards and more. There are many boat excursions available.

We had an absolutely perfect stay. There was so much attention to detail--cleaning the cob webs, filling our foot washing bins with fresh water each day, sweeping the floors, wiping down really made us feel like we were on vacation to come home to a freshly made bed each evening. Of course the beach is amazing in and of itself, but it was so nice to be there for an entire week with my kids and my mom who struggles to get in and out of the water. I didnt need to worry about currents or sudden drops from a sandbar. If we wanted to have an adventure, we could, but if we just found ourselves on the property, all we had to do was float and we were relaxed and having a good time. It really just helped us all slow down and enjoy one another without our phones. We had everything we needed--our towels, floaties, etc. and really appreciated having someone cook for us one night. I really loved the commercial kitchen because I like to cook and when there are 12 people, that made it really easy to whip up breakfasts and dinners. This trip was a 10/10 and I think in the "life highlight reel" for sure. My parents felt celebrated for their 60th anniversary, which was the whole point, and I had a truly memorable birthday swimming under the stars in the bioluminescent water. We also had a bonfire on the beach one night--I recommend you have one yourself! I hope to come back!! It was idyllic, dreamy perfection.

I had the pleasure of hosting my friends and family at Cocodimama for our wedding weekend in January 2024. The location and facilities are absolutely breathtaking and the staff is even more wonderful. My guests and I enjoyed our four night stay immensely thanks to the thoughtful amenities offered. The main dining/lounge/bar area is spacious, comfortable, and the perfect spot for gathering. The decks and beach area are well maintained as are the beautiful rooms. All of the staff including managers, chefs, bartenders, and housekeeping are incredibly helpful and will ensure your stay is a magical one. This location is well equipped for weddings, family vacations, and beyond. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Eleuthera.

2nd visit to Eleuthra. Cocodimama promised AND delivered. The accommodations were perfect (it felt like waking up on a cloud each morning), including the "big house". As a large group, it was so nice to be able to retreat to your own unit and then hang-out in the big space to eat, play games, talk, watch TV or do karaoke. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We had Annie and crew come in and cook breakfasts and dinners for us most nights and that was proved to be a fantastic idea (though I can't credit for it). Our group included kids, vegetarians, pescetarians (sp?), young adults and us older folks -- Annie managed to accommodate everyone! The food was tasty, plentiful and healthy. Cocodimama was so relaxing and beautiful we rarely ventured out, but if this is your first visit to Eleuthra; I'd recommend the Glass Bridge, the Queen's Bath and the Blue Hole (Blue Hole only if you're truly adventurous).

Cant say enough great things about this property, we were a large group of 34 guest and we have the trip of our life, this place has the nest beach in the entire island, the main building has everything to accommodate and to cook for large parties, rooms were spot less, the crew and house keeping directed by annie the manager definitely deserves the highest score for cleanness.also Matt was a super host , he helps us all the way trough this will be our future spot every time we are coming back to ELEUTHERA

Wow, what a week! We brought 24 of our close friends and family to stay at Cocodimama. I think this is truly the most beautiful beach on the whole island. Though we kept venturing out to other beaches and caves and cliffs, we all wanted to get back to the house as quickly as possible. The cottages are not fancy, though right on the sand! We rented a half dozen kayaks and the house also had a lot of rafts and coolers. The most fun was to just wade out into the shallow waters with our drinks and have a party all day long! Annie and her staff were gracious, helpful and always providing little surprises for us! We arranged to have Annie (different than the property manager) cook for us for 4 of the nights, and she made several traditional Bahamian dishes that everyone loved. It got pretty hot during the afternoons, so having good A/C was fabulous. Can't wait to come back!

This is the perfect vacation spot. The beach is steps away onto our own private infinity pool . . and is an oasis of relaxation. We had a group of 20+ and spent most of our time floating in warm 3 foot water and talking and laughing. The group was 30 year old cousins that just needed a break! The beaches are perfect for kids to play as moms/dads just float on a serene crystal blue ocean. ( yes, I did fall asleep and enjoyed the best nap of my life. Bring inflatable rafts and maybe a volleyball)
Several days we adventured to different parts of the island (lighthouse, sapphire hole, poponi, snorkeling) but always returned to relax on the beach and walk the shell strewn sand.
The 1/2 day snorkeling with Exotic Excursions was exceptional. Sandy secluded beaches, snorkeling in the aquariums and sunken ship, rope swings in the middle of the ocean, even swimming pigs!
Host Annie made everything comfortable and Cook Annie prepared wonderful meals. Nothing exotic or cruise-shipesque but comfortable and easy. One night we had Mish prepare a VIP celebration dinner and it was FANTASTIC! Would highly recommend that large groups include the meal services.
The main house was a perfect gathering spot which included games, gatherings and karaoke (yes, karaoke). Wasn’t excited to sing in front of others but it was a HUGE hit!
All in all the perfect getaway and the perfect location!

The North Eleuthera airport is quite a drive away 1 hour. Flew from Dallas to Ft Lauderale and spent the night before flying Silverway airlines in the morning)

We had the most magnificent stay at Cocodimama! We were a large group of 7 families with kids ranging from 2.5 to 11 and everyone had a blast. It was the end of June and we spent most days soaking and playing games in the water. The accommodations were even better than the pictures (the AC in the rooms crank which was nice at night) and the staff do an impeccable job keeping it clean, thank you to Annie and the entire crew for all that you did to help make our stay comfortable! We hired Annie the chef to cook most meals and she did a great job keeping our hungry crew well fed and happy. There were noseeums around dusk, but if you just hang in the water you don’t get eaten alive. The bites didn’t spoil our fun, just bring some itch cream with you. This is a great property for large groups, can’t wait to come back again hopefully!

This beach is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is wonderful and very accommodating. They were so friendly and attentive to us. This property has a great set-up with the individual rooms but large gathering space in the large house. This would be so ideal for a wedding or a family reunion. The ocean is super clear and shallow which is so amazing for children. There are shells which are hard on your feet but only at the very entrance then it turns to soft sand filled with starfish and sand dollars. The location is central on the island but this island is stretched out. It is 30-45 minutes to get to most activities. We would personally like a little more activity and the island is very quiet. There are plenty of restaurants open but no Friday Fish Fry yet. Things are very quiet so if you are seeking rest...this island is awesome! We felt very safe so no concerns there at all.

Cocodimama is the most beautiful, perfect setting for a large family gathering. We had a group of 20 family members and we were able to spread ourselves out over the 3 sleeping houses that are perfectly set up to accommodate adults and children alike. The housekeeping staff is AMAZING, taking their time to attend to every detail, and so friendly to chat with and get ideas of where to go and what to see. Annie is so kind, very attentive and easy to get ahold of if any issues arise. The large main guest house was great for eating all our meals in, hanging out, playing games or watching the sunrise and sunset on the porch overlooking the pristine ocean water. The beach at Cocodimama is absolutely gorgeous and so shallow, calm and warm that the kids can play in it all day long! The house is very centrally located on the island which makes it easy to do touristy things on both the north end (Harbor Island, Spanish Wells, Queen’s bath and Glass Window Bridge) or the South end (Lighthouse beach, Ocean hole, or Tarpym Bay fish dock.) We truly had to pinch our selves every day at the beauty that surrounded us. Pictures do not do it justice, so I highly recommend staying here and seeing it for yourself!!

This property is pure perfection. We had a party of 24 ranging from 50+ down to 6 months. Everyone couple/family had their own room (very well maintained, clean with very comfortable beds. The main house was used all day for meals, drinks and lots of games. But the beach is where it's at. Just steps from our rooms was our private beach and knee-deep water that went out at least 100 yards.
The staff was low key and wonderful. Everyone was so pleasant and hard working. They greeted us and helped with luggage when we arrived, did our laundry when needed and answered all our questions.
Advice:
Get a chef. We had Zev provide breakfast, lunch and dinner and it was one of the best decisions we made.
If Covid tests are still required, purchase them for $25 on the Bahamas Health Visa website. If you don't have the voucher it is twice that. We used the Family Medicine Center in Rock Sound, a lovely facility.

This property is pure perfection. We had a party of 24 ranging from 50+ down to 6 months. Everyone couple/family had their own room (very well maintained, clean with very comfortable beds. The main house was used all day for meals, drinks and lots of games. But the beach is where it's at. Just steps from our rooms was our private beach and knee-deep water that went out at least 100 yards.
The staff was low key and wonderful. Everyone was so pleasant and hard working. They greeted us and helped with luggage when we arrived, did our laundry when needed and answered all our questions.
Advice:

Great for a large group as everyone has their own space, but can come back together in main house. Annie, the on-site manager and all the staff are wonderful. Zev cooked amazing dinners and breakfasts for our group and offered lots of great advice for things to do on the Island. Would stay there again 100%

Paradise
Everything was perfect! Great place for a family reunion. Excellent place for a family reunion with all ages. The beach is spectacular and perfect for small children. We hired Annie to cook dinner every evening and she did a great job accommodating many different diets. Just be forewarned that food is VERY expensive and the variety isn’t what you are used to at home. All of the cleaning staff and management was wonderful and friendly and very welcoming. I would highly recommend this resort.

We chose Cocodimama for our destination wedding and it could not have been a better choice. We had the best week vacationing with our families before having the most picturesque wedding ceremony right on the beach. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived thanks to Annie and the other staff. They keep the grounds and houses impeccably clean and are happy to provide suggestions and information about anything you need. From what we saw of Eleuthera, Cocodimama beach is one of the best on the island. A stretch of white sandy beach and shallow water about 100 yards out. Perfect for swimming and we found so many starfish and sand dollars! Everyone in our group loved it and wanted to plan our next trip back as soon as we left!

Amazing experience. The setting is from paradise with a beautiful secluded almost private beach, shallow water ideal for kids. The rooms are very large and comfortable and the common areas are perfect for large groups. The staff is also excellent. Only minor point is the presence of little biting bugs (noceums) on the beach that can be a real problem if you are allergic. Apart from that, our group had a great time.

Cocodimama is quite simply a magical place. The pictures are great but do not really paint the entire masterpiece this place truly is. Our group of 14 experienced one the best vacations of our lives. We are all in our 50s and came to Eleuthera to reconnect. The property has 3 colorful buildings housing 12 individual rooms. There is one main building for gathering. This gave each member of our group the ability to be on their own when they wanted. The rooms are spacious and spotless with very comfortable beds. Loved the great water pressure in the shower. The beach is so fantastic words cannot properly describe it. Every hue of Blue can be seen during the day and the sand is as soft as silk. You can walk into the ocean for 50 yards and the water is only up to your waist. One day 3 of us snorkeled out 150 yards directly in front of the resort and encountered a pod of Dolphins which swam right up to us. Comfortable beach chairs and individual Palupas line the beach offering ample room to relax, talk, or read a book. Every night we would have dinner together at a large table and then move out to the spacious deck to watch the sun dissolve into the ocean. We hired Annie Culmer as our cook, who created the most amazing meals in the attached industrial sized kitchen. Her ability to create 6 separate dinners for 14, which were incredibly diverse & delicious, really made our evenings special. After the sun dropped down the stars took over in a fashion which is rarely experienced and we would celebrate life while talking, listening to music, and dancing on the expansive deck. The onsite crew, run by Annie (different Annie) and Miss Maddie, tended to our rooms and the overall property everyday making sure we were comfortable and happy. From the first email to the après vacation follow up the communication from the owner was both responsive and professional. If you have a large group, then renting this property would be the best decision you could possibly make.

This was the most incredible experience for our extended family of 16. Cocodimama was exactly as represented on the internet. However, the description did not tell us about the incredible staff, and their kindnesses to us. There was NEVER a reason to leave our house, with the Caribbean Sea at our front door, incredible snorkeling around the corner, and a fabulous cook, Annie, at night. We DID NOT want to come home! But, we will be back, for sure! Cocodimama is our ONLY vac destination in the future!
