Parfait emplacement

Emplacement parfait au centre de plusieurs points d'intérêt. Appartement très grand pouvant accueillir 5 personnes alors c'était grand luxe pour nous deux. Il est vrai que la déco n'est pas très moderne mais nous avions tout ce dont nous avions besoin, c'était confortable et très calme. Nous n'avons rencontré personne mais les instructions pour rentrer dans le logement étaient claires. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié nos 3 jours dans ce logement.

The bed linen was very clean and fresh and the bed was comfortable.

The shower room uses shower curtains so water can splash out of bathing area.

Enjoyed visiting this beautiful and remote part of Iceland.

The location was great - close to Diamond Circle and Nature Baths.

it was a little run down and there was no comfortable spot - like a living room with a couch- to unwind at the end of the day.

Exceptional

Great breakfast. Lava bread was different. The host was really accommodating and so kind. They made me an early breakfast package due to my early departure. There's a grocery store, gas station, and fish n chips place nearby.

Value for money

It is located very near the Myvatn Tourist Spots (Myvatn Bath, Hverir, etc..) Check in was fuss free.

Do take note that the hot water is from the local geothermal springs.

Nice flat to spend the weekend in the capital. close to the city centre. with everything you need

the flat has everything needed

the codes given to open the doors did not work. the person we contacted to sort it out could have been more friendly. no number of the apartments on the doors, so hard to know which one we rented. we rented the flat for 3 people, the sofa bed could have been ready and was not.

Great place to stay when exploring the Myrvatn area.

comfortable, nice size and great facilities. We didn’t use the breakfast available as we left early due to an impending orange alert in the area.

Kitchen had a lot of room and was very well equipped

Bathroom was a bit old and the bath was stinky (sulfur) as the water in the region is rich in this mineral. The apartment was a bit "cold" in the beginning of the night.

Smelly stay 🥴

The apartment offers a lot of space, the kitchen is well equiped. After a rainy, cold and muddy hiking day you can easily dry your clothes and leave dirty shoes at the front door. The beds are comfortable and you have a sink in the bedroom as well as in the bathroom (one shower and one by the toilet).

It was such a stinky stay... And no, we don't mean (just) the usual experience of having smelly tap water that obviously comes straight from the source 😉. Apparently, the guests before us had fish for dinner in the apartment. And no one tried to get rid of this pungent smell. To be fair, it's not the host's fault what strong smelling food the previous guests prepared in the kitchen. But it is their decision to offer it like that to the next guests without even mentioning it. And even after we opened all the windows and doors to get rid of the smell, it was there all night in the whole apartement, extremely unpleasant and uncomfortable to sleep with.... Also, the bedrooms smelled like an old farmhouse - and not fresh hay, but old and worn like a barn. Maybe that was also due to the previous guests who left other smells ;). But unfortunately, the smell matched the generally very outdated look and feel of the apartment. As a result, we unfortunately did not feel very comfortable. We were glad that we were only here for one night. Also, you should plan your trip well as the check-in time frame is from 5pm - 8pm. We had to change our plan a bit due to the ever changing weather conditions, came an hour early and had to wait because even if you ring the bell, no one comes. Our feedback to the hosts: look around at other accommodations in Iceland that make check-in absolutely straightforward, for example in terms of self-check-in options or larger check-in time slots.

Nice but major shortcomings

The setting of the apartment was very convenient for the touristic highlights in the beautiful surroundings .And 200m from a supermarket and petrol station. Big appartement for 2 people, lots of space.We both had our own bedroom And many towels. Nice kitchen with enough equipment for cooking our own meals and breakfast. Spacious bathroom and washing basins in both sleeping rooms. Perfect WIFI Receptionist was kind. We enjoyed our stay here, despite all shortcomings.

We were thrown out of the apartment on the departure day by the cleaning ladies at 9.50, before the check out time of 11.00. They entered the apartment without our permission. We were not fully dressed and we had to pack our stuff quickly because they wouldn't stop, and they wouldn't talk to us. It felt if we were unwanted guests. The front door couldn't be locked, so everyone could walk in. It actually happend one night, when a family suddenly entered our house because they were mistaken and couldn't find their own apartment. They scared us, we thought they were burglars. At night , when sleeping, we didn't feel very safe. The fact that the front door was open when we were away didn't feel safe. We had to put our valuable things in our sleeping room with could be locked. But still it didn't feel good because anyone could enter the house and steal our stuff that was in the kitchen, hallway and bathroom ( food, toilet bags, coats and shoes etc) Furnishing was spartan: we only had kitchen chairs and a table to sit on every night. The couch was in hallway, very strange. There was no tv ( but we didn't miss it) The reception was not open until 17.00u so we had to drive around for 45 minutes. Because of the above we think the price is too high. The management should do something about the safety in apartment 7A.

Basic and a bit spartan but clean and well-located.

The location was good, central to what we wanted to see, there was a supermarket within a short walk and the apartment was clean and provided the basic amenities we needed.

There was nothing homely or cosy about the apartment. It reminded me of the accommodation at an old Pontin’s holiday camp! It was a place to lay down our heads and sleep before moving on the next day, nothing more.

I liked the location. It was close to the shop and it wasn’t grounded so many lights, so we could watch the northern lights.
