Location was great, right at a bus stop so no need to haul luggage around town. Short walk into the downtown area. Daily breakfast had a great selection to choose from. And the indoor pool was very nice, especially during rainy weather. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating.
The hotel's private lakeside dock (not really a beach, but was fine for swimming) is quite a hike away from the hotel.
Also, a word of warning about St. Gilgen. This is a very small, very quiet town that shuts down not long after 8:00pm. Restaurants also close for a few hours in the afternoon. So if you're planning on eating out, you have to be careful to make sure you're eating at relatively "normal" meal times, otherwise you may be going hungry.

The breakfast was outstanding- wide variety of hot and cold food, excellent service and beautiful terrace to enjoy views/ great weather while eating.
Nothing comes to mind! The staff was so professional, accommodating and friendly. Roland at the front desk corresponded with us before our arrival- providing answers to our questions and suggestions for restaurants/activities. He was wonderful as was the entire staff. This hotel is a hidden gem!

Great place, good personal, love that place.
A bit too high price..
4.5
Excellent location at the heart of Sankt Gilgen, beautifully refurbished, elegant hotel with nice spa area and stunning view on the lake even from the restaurant.
The logistics for the breakfast was very disappointing. We never had a table, we had to wait 10 to 20 minutes even if there were empty tables because the stuff will dedicate a table for you. You cannot sit just anywhere, no matter if the place is available. So having breakfast is a nightmare and very time consuming. Stuff was not helpful at all. They just ignored us requesting a table 2-3 times. And it happened every day!!!

The breakfast was wonderful, we had lots of choices and there was something for everyone. The staff was also very nice. Absolutely spectacular location with beautiful views. A very lovely reception.
The hotel could use a little bit of modernisation, but overall it was beautiful. If the sauna could be open all day, I might have been able to use it. Unfortunately it was only open in the evenings.

The room was spacious, clean and had a great view at the lake and mountains. Our room had air conditioning, which was a must in the summer. The breakfast buffet was delicious, fresh and there were plenty of options. The staff was friendly and helpful.

- View from our hotel room was very beautiful on lake Wolfgang
- Staff during breakfast was very friendly and helpful (majority of interns)
- Breakfast was of good quality and had a wide range of different choices
- A lot of parking spaces are available
- No air conditioning in the hotel room (outside it was 37 degrees Celcius!). Not what you would expect for the price you pay for a hotel and of a 4-star hotel
- A few staff members (an old man and a woman with dark hair) during dinner looked like they had given up (no energy, no interest in their clients, not friendly, took them 20 min to give us a menu and another 20 min to take our order)
- The food during dinner was really disappointing. Not what you would expect for a 4-star hotel
- Not a lot of information is given pro-actively by the staff about what you can do in the area of the hotel

breakfast was good. location and view very nice, rooms are large
rooms outdated, smelled like cigarettes.
Evening buffet was expensive and not worth the money, poor quality and buffet style (dry)
overall too expensive for what you get.

Everything was perfect. The room with the stunning view has been one of the most beautiful hotel rooms I have ever been. Room, staff ... everything amazing. We will come back for sure.

The food was great, both in quality and variety, especially when eating on the terrace with beautiful view.
The location and the nature around were amazing.
Will definitely recommend!
Everything was great.

Beautiful town, but this is the best hotel in the town and perfectly situated. From here, there are numerous walking paths and the bus stop is directly in front of the hotel. This town is also the primary ferry stop for all of Wolfgangsee, and the lift to the top of the mountain is also here so perfectly situated. I have stayed in many hotels. This one was my favorite. Stay here and you will feel it too. The staff makes it seem like family, and the place itself is peaceful and interesting. Rooms were fantastic and very large. Even had a cat that slept on the back porch. Private lake swimming beach (separate from hotel about a 10 minute walk).

comfortable and clean room
restaurant is like a second rate cruise ship. dinner was exceptionally poor, soggy, inedible. at breakfast, even hot drinks were diy, with long queues.

Superior room - lake view was beautiful, the room was spacious. Location near the lake. Indoor pool. Terrace and a huge garden, our 1 year old son could run around :) A new indoor pool. Staff was generally nice and pleasant.
We paid for a superior room with lake view. There was smell in the toilet when we arrived. Kettle upon request and no minibar (we were offered to use a fridge on the corridor). Ants on the terrace, ants in the restaurant at breakfast. Breakfast was a bit dull, I would expect more from a decent 4 star hotel. Walls were very thin, our neighbour had the TV on each night, we had trouble sleeping. One night it was too much, the TV was super loud during a football match. We complained to the reception, they didn't / couldn't do anything about it and after 10pm were unavailable (no receptionist). The neighbour was intentionally ignoring our complaints. Sleeping was impossible. We ended up having to call the police ourselves! I complained about the incident in the morning to the hotel manager/owner, she offered to move us to a new room. No other compensation, in their own words: "You can leave early". The reason was that the noisy neighbour was an "old Austrian lady" and we were obviously less valuable to the hotel. So we left after the next night. Some guests are more important than others at this hotel, even when they break the rules and ignore others.

Even though the room was a bit dated, it was huge, with a large balcony and a breathtaking view of the lake. The pool is very nice, not very big but not very small either. The staff is very kind and attentive; the breakfast consisted of more animal produce but there are a few vegan options like vegan yogurt, hummus and some vegan spread; the coffee is great, especially when enjoyed on the beautiful terrace. All in all, it was a great stay and I'm sure we'll visit again.
The room was a bit dated. (No. 44) and because of the coronavirus, the spa (massages) was closed.

This is a really lovely hotel. We received a warm, friendly greeting upon arrival. Our room was a good size, with balcony overlooking the immaculate hotel grounds and lake. Good buffet breakfast and pleasant evening meal. Nice indoor swimming pool. Great location, just a few minutes walk into the centre of St. Gilgen and a few minutes further to the boat/steamer station. Every member of staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely return for another holiday at this hotel.

the view, the modern room with exceptional design, the swimming pool
the staff at breakfast ignored pretty much anyone except for the regulars - we ended up finding cups and cutlery for our table on our own...
