L’emplacement extraordinaire !

Location is amazing and the staff are so friendly.
Would be good if it had a gym but that’s all.

Great location on the lake. Water was very clean and you could swim from beside the pool. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. The local village was near by with plenty of restaurants. Boat trips to the island from the square. It is smaller and less busy than other lakes which we really liked. A great relaxing break. Their was a music evening with special food which was excellent, really enjoyable. Great location to also go to Lake Maggiore. We went to Stresa and the islands which were very beautiful especially Bella.
The pool walls were covered in fake tan and sun tan lotion which put me off swimming in it. We swam in the lake instead.

Great Location, fantastic view over the lake and a good breakfast. The room was OK but there were a couple of issues.
Our room lacked proper curtains or shutters which made the room very hot in the late afternoon. The problem was compounded by the ineffective airconditioning that didnt cope.
Word of advice: Do not simply follow your GPS and drive through the very narrow one-way streets of Orta to the hotel as we did. Locate the proper access before you arrive.

The location of the hotel is excellent, breakfast very good and generally the hotel just meets a 4 star standard but only just !
The pool is clean but tired

Fantastic location, staff very helpful, room and hotel in general were extremely clean. Breakfast was very good with plenty of variety.
Food and drink in the hotel was very expensive
3.8
location is great
pool need more capacity (beds and umbrella), house technology messed up - we had to change room 2 times ( 3night stay)

The place seems a bit worn down (was there the first time in 2008). Problems with room air con and had to change. Staff speaks almost no English.

Beautiful location, comfortable hotel, great place to relax
Our room had a weak and only intermittent internet connection. After repeated complaints, a member of staff admitted on our last morning that the hotel's equipment required "an upgrade".
Secondly, the only restaurant served pretentious and expensive food. In a hotel, you sometimes want simple food.

We liked the hotel, it’s location and amenities- the rooms were clean - I had a comfortable - one of the party did not!
I had the junior suite but the AC was not working so they had to promote me to the suite! but even in the suite the aircon condensed and was dripping! So not very nice in this heat. My son
a superior room, which again was very nice but turned out near the breakfast area and it was noisy from early morning ! There were no coffee machines in the rooms and although when asked provided a kettle but with Nescafé ! No tea available… so the little touches that make or break a hotel were not available which is a shame as the place has so much potential! One feel that it runs on its own 😞. Plus the breakfast was very average with stale croissant

Pleasant staff. Excellent location. Overall good facilities.
Exceptionally bad hairdryer in the bathroom! Very old fashioned, impossible to use.
Water in the bathroom while taking a shower, leaks onto the floor in huge quantities.
Absence of slippers and cold granite floors in the bathroom.
All these are small things, but can make your life miserable.
3.8
The breakfast wasn't very good and when they have tour groups staying at the hotel breakfast was awful and far too smaller space to accommodate everyone .
3.8
Breakfast was excellent, wast choice, well served in a room with a beautiful view at the lake.
Excellent location at the lake shore, close to the central place of the old town.
The room was too small for the price. A shower is preferable than a bathtub.
3.8
Brilliant location.
The facilities are pretty old and the hotel itself is looking quite tired. The receptionists were all fairly disinterested and not at all helpful.

Location. the view on the island from the hotel is the best. Hotel and rooms are clean.
staff in the morning at reception impolite and staff in the evening inefficient. rooms are big and newly refurbished, the bathroom however was small, 1 person at the time. not enough lights in the room.

the surrounding was perfect, the view etc

Location right on the lake and close to everything. Lots of history in the building and surroundings. Great customer service from Erica and great cocktails by Giacomo, and a very nice breakfast.
Our first room was way too small but Erica moved us the next day to a larger one where we could actually open our suitcases. Poor lighting in our room, uncomfortable bed, water stains on the ceiling, drain stoppers just lying in the sink and bidet, strange.

Location is excellent. We changed our room three times; there are some really small rooms with tiny shower, some rooms looking into a wall and some rooms very noisy due to wedding guests celebrations. Breakfast was the worst, poor selection of food, staff attitude was rude and after asking for a coffee twice, you could not drink it, how bad it was.
Except the location, there was nothing we liked about this hotel. Shower/bath had mold growing around the bath, shower curtain was dirty yellow at the bottom, aircon wall controller had the cover missing and wires were exposed, we had only one towel in the bathroom for two guests. We could not find our room at first in the maze of complicated corridors, no one mentioned that our room was on the ‘in between’ levels and we had to take stairs to get to it. We couldn’t see the room numbers with arrows pointing to the stairs because of the trolley piled up high with dirty linen was parked in front of it (for the whole length of our stay!), no help with the luggage, until after we asked for it. Asking the staff why can’t we take the elevator to our mezzanine level, he said “because it probably doesn’t work.”

great location and pool area.
Nothing.

location is amazing but thats about it
rooms seem tired and in need of refit. shower in first room didn’t work and then some lights in second room not working. inattentive staff. very poor breakfast.

Old world glamour in a newly renovated hotel. The pool with the best view in lake Orta. Spacious room with a view to die for
Honestly I can’t fault it. It’s a great stay.
