Friendly and welcoming staff. Close to the airport, only 10 minutes drive.
Nothing negative to say about Hotel Vogar.

Cerca del aeropuerto
Muy anticuado y un poco sucio. La cama no era cómoda.

We stayed here on our last night in Iceland, only to wake to our bodies covered in fresh painful bites. We informed management on our way to the airport and showed them our bites. My partner had to visit an emergency clinic once home for the inflammation and doctor confirmed bed bugs. We asked for a refund from management and have heard NOTHING following the initial acknowledgement. The hotel was run down and did not feel clean so not a surprise.
Do not recommend unless you want to risk it.

Nada.
Habitación con 4 camas, habia pelusas debajo de las camas (no estaba limpio).
Dos baños fuera, para compartir.
Room with 4 beds, there was lint under the beds (it was not clean). Two bathrooms outside, to share.

Easy drive to the airport for an early morning flight. We were upgraded to a family apartment with private bath, when we originally booked for a shared bath.
It’s a bit old and run down, but everything that we used worked fine. There isn’t much in the area, like restaurants, gas or convenience store, but those things are only a short drive away.

La sola cosa positiva è la vicinanza con l'aeroporto; avendo un volo alle 8 del mattino l'ho trovata logisticamente ideale
Troppo costoso rispetto ai servizi offerti. Struttura molto vecchia, rumorosa e mal tenuta. Non lo suggerirei

Breakfast was very good. It's a beautiful vintage hotel. The owner is also a paintor and we loved to chat with him.

We only spent one night here after arriving, so not much to review.

After a long day of extreme winter weather, I had to quickly book a hotel as all flights out of Iceland were cancelled. The host at Hotel Vogar was warm and welcoming, much needed after a stressful day. The room and bathrooms were very clean and comfortable. Our host cooked delicious meals for us and made taxi arrangements for us to get back to the airport the next day.

the chef was wonderful the good delicious and they held the kitchen open for us when we had to arrive late due to plane cancellation.

The staff person was VERY helpful. We stayed in this hotel because our flight from KEF was canceled. He helped to arrange group taxis to the airport next day to share the cost. See the photo of of the hotel entrance to judge what the weather was like.
The location is not really reachable without a taxi, which costs a lot, and the facilities are dated. I didn't try to go out in such a weather, but it seemed from the map on my phone there are no restaurants around.

Clean room and close to airport for early am flight. Nice walk with water views nearby.
No real restaurant opportunities in Vogar when we were there, plan ahead, not a hotel issue.

Price.
Distance to Airport
Room had a strong smell of fish.
Shared bathroom along corridor but people opening and banging shut doors to go and use it all night kept me awake.
No food available. Had to drive a couple of junctions down the main road to eat.

It was very close to the airport, we needed a place to stay for one night since our flight had a delay of 12 hours. hotel staff was friendly and accommodating, rooms are not super luxury but were clean and had all we needed. Beds very comfy.
Nothing to complain about.

Not much
The place is shabby and dirty. The lack of effort or interest in their clients is sad.

Let me just start by saying 2 things: First, I’ve traveled in Iceland on multiple occasions and I know it is an expensive country.
Second, the owners were kind and I feel bad being somewhat harst about their property.
Just terrible value for money. Everything is dated and smells musty. The facilities are lacking.
We could not turn off the heaters completely, and even with the window open it was so warm at night that it caused me to wake up with a head ache.
The rooms did not have enough electrical outlets. There wasn’t one electrical outlet that allowed me to charge my phone and keep it at the night stand, even with my extra long cable.
There was only 1 night stand between the 2 separate beds with a large lamp, instead of 2 with reading lights. This was annoying as my mother likes to read in bed and I wanted to sleep.
There were no coffee or tea makers in the room.
The breakfast was expensive, but I’ve had better in Iceland for half the price.

they let us leave our luggages at the reception , near the shore , good for walking jogging
no kitchen for guest but they offer breakfast for 2300ISK, a fast food meal in comparison. the location is boring, no restaurant, no grocery, nothing to do within the area. the bus to airport is 2km away from the hotel. they dont offer shuttle even to bus stop. we had to walk with our luggages this far but at least saved us for a 100€ taxi if we asked one from the reception. bus to airport cost us only 13€ (3adults 1child)

Nice accomodation in a typical Icelandic village. Good room with all the facilities. Free parking in front of your room.
Breakfast is quite poor even though that's very expensive.

nothing
I booked this hotel through the booking platform and got confirmation, but when I checked in, I was told that there was no reservation and the room was full. I was canceled by the hotel without getting any valid notice. At the same time, I couldn't get Reasonable solution, my family waited in the car for more than an hour, we had to find a hotel 10 km away, it was already after 4am, I couldn't accept the hotel's repeating sorry, this became my family trip in Iceland The worst day ever, our whole family is likely to be sleeping rough on the first day.
I personally think that the confirmation from the platform is the most important guarantee, but Hotel Vogar is the worst experience I have used for booking in more than 3 years. I hope to get a full-level solution, thank you.
