Beautiful grounds, comfortable room, great views of the sea, very nice breakfast, friendly and helpful staff. Access to promenade through private gateway in bottom corner of grounds. Dog-friendly, and for us as former dog owners the dogs themselves make the place even better.
Fair climb from town centre - but worth it.

Breakfast was A little hit and miss due to the new way they are keeping the food hot.
Walk ways to gardens need to be more Wheelchair friendly.

Spacious but homely. Beautiful outlook and grounds. The swimming pool was excellent, clean , bright and well designed.
Creaky floorboards was a minor niggle.

The hotel is in lovely grounds, in a great location, The swimming pool is now open.
The rooms are comfortable with plenty of storage space,
The staff are friendly and helpful.
This is my fourth stay and it is my 'go to' hotel in Teignmouth.
Staff needed more help. Reception staff had to serve at the bar, meaning customers often had to go to reception to find someone to serve them.

The staff were an amazing and nothing was too much trouble despite being short on the staff front. They were always smiling.
We dined in on our second evening and I was so looking forward to it but found it a little lacking in gravy/ sauce

Beautiful house, lovely garden, very helpful staff. Not impressed with evening meal, pie so hot it burned my mouth and it was not good
As above

Breakfast cold offering rather basic. Hot offering good but not available in a timely fashion. Perhaps a shortage of staff…
The beer on offer on pump. A northern brew, which I am familiar with and usually would enjoy, possibly not well maintained. There are very good beers available from the local area and I think these, well served would be popular and bring in non residents from the surrounding area who might become regulars. Good in the low season.
I asked for a small glass of wine, 125mls. This wasn’t possible as this volume wasn’t on the till system!

The location is brilliant, just a short walk from the front. The room (club) was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and the service was great.
Breakfast on the first day was problematic, running out of milk and the breakfast items not kept topped up.

Lovely relaxing position
Had a very noisy room, on the roadside

Lovely location and gardens, free parking.
Buffet breakfast very average, evening restaurant menu was just ok like pub food .
Lack of staff during the daytime.
Downstairs toilet not checked, bin overflowing and paper towels over the floor.
Not really value for the price.

Lovely location, well kept, very hellpful staff.
Breakfast was fine but basic, not great for a vegetarian. Dinner was fine, but again not as veggie as it might have been.

Location was very convenient
Not enough staff to take care of clearing tables, replenishing breakfast etc. A rush for breakfast in the morning but then the hotel really goes quiet afterwards.
Cleaning staff could of done more through jobs of carpets in public areas & carpets in corners in bedrooms. I think this should get done regularly otherwise build up of dust.

Pros
Location was superb. Easy walk to beach and town through hotel gardens.
Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom was big and well-fitted.
secure parking (we travelled by motorbike so this was essential)
Cons
Breakfast was chaotic to say the least. Not enough staff replenishing food. If there was bread, there was no butter. If there were sausages, there was no scrambled egg. Only one toaster and tea/coffee machine resulting in long queues and much muttering!
No daily housekeeping. Some nonsense on information sheet about it being due to Covid (!) but real reason obviously lack of staff/money. Wasn't a massive issue as we only stayed 3 nights but would have been very annoying on a longer stay. Not really what you expect in a 3 star hotel, especially one that is so outstanding in lots of other ways.
Neither of these issues would put us off booking again, although I would certainly look at staying on a room only basis, if possible.
Lots of dogs at the hotel, and in the dining room. We had no issue with this but could be problematic for some.

was a classic hotel which is the best kind. the bed was so comfortable and the garden was beautiful! wish we booked a stay for longer.
I guess there was still a couple shall we say body hairs from the last people to occupy the room but it’s bound to happen.

The gardens were lovely and the hotel it’s self had a lovely feel to it
1, it was had to find staff they were very limited very short staffed although they were all very friendly and helpful except one very rude member in the restaurant on our evening meal , we booked prior to staying the table as my parents are older new we would be staying in . when we were arrived we were told this is the only table left at the back of the restaurant asked if we could seat near the window as it was dark and also every table was laid for breakfast not for an evening meal , we were told no as they were busy and had a lot of walk ins . I’m
sorry we booked 2 weeks prior to staying she was very rude and blunt and the most dirty look every asked if she could set out table for a evening meal and not breakfast o will be back never arrived back and we cleared the table out self’s ….. all night long her looks we’re not good and we had the same looks at breakfast ! she really deos need some customer care …. on saying that everyone else was friendly and over worked that’s for sure would I return yes was a lovely stay just dappened by one member of staff Tia

Large gardens which give access to the esplanade are exceptional. Room was nicely appointed and breakfast was very nice.
Parking on the premises are limited, the reception staff lacked interaction would have been nice to have heard "enjoy your stay with us" and on checking out "did you enjoy your stay"
