Location. Decent size room, comfortable bed. Good ale in the bar. Decent breakfast with good choice. Evening meals were good if a little pricey.
Small shower cubicle with electric shower which was starting to look its' age. Cleanliness - A bit grubby in places. Apart from emptying the bin and topping up the tea/milk/water/biscuits I don't think our room was cleaned the whole time we were there.

The Thatch Inn was a comfortable low-key place to stay and eat. It was close to Gloucester city centre and Tewksbury. But the best was the staff. We walked into the bar to book into our room and felt immediately part of the family.
The staff made sure we knew what was around, and made sure our meals were booked ahead of time. They were friendly and welcoming.
Breakfast was really good. Continental and ordered fresh...your choice of both or either. Fish and steak were good for lunch and dinner, and desserts were amazing! Try the skillet cookie. Will remember that!
The room was simple, small and comfy. The old parts of the building were interesting!

Excellent location for accessing Gloucester city centre, room recently refurbished and very nice. The full English breakfast that is served is superb
Renovations we’re still going on in the other half of the pub which was a little disappointing as it was a little noisy at times. Woken a couple of times by other residents screaming & shouting at each other in the middle of the night.

Food off the evening menu was delicious. Staff were all really friendly. Lovely old pub area, with more modern accommodation. Supermarket and other pubs close by for convenience, easy access off the motorway. Would definitely stay there again!
Didn't dislike anything, the location was great for the requirements of our stay, but slightly out of the Gloucester city centre if that would be the reason for someone's visit. Still only a short, 10 min taxi ride, from the city centre,so definitely not horrendous!!!

Friendly staff . The room we where in had a bit of a smell that we really could not stop in . So I spoke to the staff who asvised they would speak to a manager , 10 mins later she came back to us with a upgraded room . Very well presented and polite ... we got a drink at the bar which was on the house ..... Again could not fault the staff ....

The look of it from outside, the bar area has character.
The bed mattress was too soft & sunken on one side from years of use, I assume.

It’s a lovely, cosy place. Room was clean and tidy, had everything we needed. Breakfast was great and there was plenty of options.

Very friendly staff and lovely dinner. Lovely pub and restaurant. Our table was tucked away and it was very nice. Excellent fish soup and whitebsit. Great to have a fan also. Bed was comfy.
Our room was far too small. I had no room to get out of my side of the bed and had to clamber out at the bottom.. shower was awkward to get in and out of. Very tight. As the room was DOUBLE occupancy, TWO bath towels should have been left in the bathroom. ( we discovered the other towel in the wardrobe). Only one shampoo and one shower gel to share. One pack of biscuits.

staff were very professional and helpful; food was very good, bar staff friendly
Room 4 window opened onto a fence, there was a lot of noisy chatter coming from the other side of the fence but shutting the window would have been too stuffy. Lots of noise in the corridor at night as well.

Lovely old building retaining many features. Made to feel very welcome upon arrival. Room 16 was clean, bed was very comfortable had everything we needed. Full English breakfast was superb. It was well presented and hot. Staff were all very polite and welcoming. Great location for us to visit our family and cheaper than Holiday Inn

The mattress was was a bit squishy.

Breakfast good choice. Water in room helpful. Staff were friendly.
Restaurant expensive, starters and pudding 7.00 each. More than London prices in a restaurant. It was really smoky in the bar and restaurant and my asthmatic husband could not stay around the area. We had a meal and had to eat quickly as the smell and air was so bad for him. Shame as I was celebrating my birthday. Had we known we would have gone into town. There is no need for the smoke of a real fire in these times. You could see the smoke actually pouring up the chimney. Much healthier alternatives around. No atmosphere as guests were not staying around. I had to wash everything we had worn straight away, it was as though we had been at a festival.

lovely building with real fires, good food and a warm welcome

Very comfortable, quiet and spotlessly clean room. Pillows rather hard.
