Inside, the open floor plan keeps the entire house cool, perfect for at night when you want to watch a movie with a DVD player, or T.V. with our satellite access. There is also full wi-fi, and a generous selection of DVDs for all ages to choose from. Just a few steps over you’ll find the fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, oven and stove top, refrigerator, and sectioned sink to be perfect for home made meals. Whether you’re cooking your own recipe, or discovering the daily delights from the dock’s fisherman in the historic town of Governors Harbour less than ten minutes away. The main deck has two outside arm chairs, couch, and a table ideal for eating lunch with an ocean view. There are also two lounge chairs there for you to lay down and catch a tan! The downstairs bedroom opens up to this deck and is right next door to a light filled and roomy bathroom with a bath and shower. Looking to go exploring? Take any or all four of our 21 gear bicycles, and ride over the hill and 5 minutes away to the dazzling Wykee’s beach or use of the pool that is included on the estates association. Here you can take long walks down the island’s shore, relax poolside, or even walk 2 minutes down the dirt road that follows the beach to grab lunch at the luxurious Sky Beach Resort. There you can swim in their infinity pool, sit at the in-pool bar, or eat at their restaurant The Bistro. For the more adventurous, this same dirt road takes you along a gentle winding path that gives you unlimited views of the water, and lots of exciting beaches that you will almost certainly have all to yourself.

My family of 5 and our dog, Shaggy loved our month long stay. There was plenty of room for all of us. We fished down the street off the boat ramp and enjoyed the short walk to the beach and pool. Governors Harbor has so much to offer.
We explored many “ off the beaten path” beaches
Rented a boat for three days and swam with the pigs, fed the stingrays, had a picnic on a sandbar and snorkeled with sharks. We feasted on delicious conch salad, fritters and chowder. Hummingbird Hideaway was perfect with its central location. Everything went well and our vacation was memorable.

The property is huge and it's a beautiful home. There was quite a few wasps hanging around the back porch which was a bummer because it was hard to sit back there since they kept bothering us. The bike tires were all flat which was okay since we didn't think we would use them after walking across to Pascal's, we didn't feel like it was very safe to ride over there on a bike (people drive kind of fast on queens highway and the road to get to pascal's is like off roading). The house itself was super comfortable and very spacious though, had a lot of amenities. Definitely a great find if you are looking to stay in the center of the island, not a bad drive to govenors harbor or really anywhere on the island.

A very nice stay I'll do it again

Just returned from a two-week stay at the Hummingbird Hideaway. This was our second stay here and we couldn't have been happier (again)! The location is ideal for access to the calmer Caribbean waters (with the boat launch area offering excellent snorkeling), and a 12 minute walk up and over to the amazing Atlantic-side beach. The pool that you pass on the way to the big waves is a lovely change of pace, though we spent far more time in the salty waters.
The house is wonderful, with a huge deck overlooking the Caribbean. We had most of our meals outside, though the airiness of the entire house gives it an outdoor feel as well.
The owners are incredibly easy to work with, and the caretaker is amazingly responsive to any small issues that arose while we were there. Highly recommended!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hummingbird House. It's in a perfect location on the island. Close to the airport and close to beaches, pool and downtown Govenor's Harbor.
The house was very comfortable. It's a great house for a multi-generational family because of the very nice guest cottage. Perfect for grandparents or older children. The house is very spacious and comfortable. We loved the amazing views and breezes from the decks.
The caretaker was very nice and accommodating. We found a few nice restaurants for a dinner out - our favorite was Tippys.
If you love secluded beaches this is the place for you. You would definitely want to have a rental car to explore the island. There's lots to do and see. Very beautiful.
We would definitely recommend this to any friend or family. A great spot and a good deal!!

Great house for an extended family. There is plenty of room to sprawl out and do your own thing.Great views overlooking the tropical forest down to the Caribbean. Fist day we were visited by 3 hummingbirds hovering the Papaya trees and other flowering tropical plants. Amazing sunsets! Mandatory cocktail time on the upper deck
.The Hummingbird hideaway is a great location for a quiet retreat. It is 10 min.
to Govenors Harbour Airport.A 10 min. walk to the pool & a few min. more to the clear turquoise ocean & its soft pink sandy beach. If Your hungry you can walk 5 min from the beach to Pascals restaurant. It is 10 min. drive to the quaint Govenors Harbour town to stock up or dine.Along the way there are many secluded beaches to visit. If your into surfing you can drive 20 min.north to Gregory town to rent a board and surf at the secluded Surfers Beach.
We will surely love to come back.

This property is spacious and comfortable with a large living area and kitchen. It has a second unit next door which we also used with a small living area and bathroom, although the toilet was not working. My overall impression was the home was nice but still had a few things that needed to be done to make it rental-ready. The internet didn't work most of the time and the toilet in the second unit did not work, it was missing pillows, etc. The caretaker was really nice and stopped by to check on us and gave us a tour of the island when we got there. We had a few problems, however. First of all, this house is not within walking distance of the pool or the beach. You have to have a rental car. Even the pool, which is advertised as being on the property, is quite a hike (about 3/4 mile), which in the heat, pool items and small children is not feasible. The beach is a mile or so away further down from the pool so also not walking distance. We arrived by boat and was told we could dock out front of the property, but that was also not safe or feasible. The Caribbean side of the beach by the house is covered in sharp coral rocks/jagged cliffs and we actually punctured our dinghy trying to dock there. In the end we turned around and anchored in the bay in governor's harbor and got the rental car. The house is really hard to find, you definitely need to get the caretaker to meet you and show you how to find it, it is off the road and covered in jungle plants. On a positive note, it is very peaceful and secluded, which is great for those who wish to "get away from it all." The island is gorgeous and the beaches, including the pink sand beach behind the Beach House, is breathtaking and we liked the resort nearby with the infinity pool.

A wonderful piece of Paradise surrounded by beautiful lush gardens!
The home is spacious & comfortably furnished indoors & out. Being moments away from beach& pool was great for the family.
The many amenities were perfect. Looking forward to our next relaxing visit.
