nothing to dislike
4.5
Good food, Good Onsen, Good location. self service coffee machine on the landing was a nice touch for early morning coffee. Room was really big.
Toilet/ bathroom is a bit small but this is normal for Japan as guests use the onsen.

5.0
This ryokan is located right on the slopes of Tsugaike Kogen and was relaxing 3-night stay for my wife and myself. We were in Hakuba Valley to ski and this was the perfect place to stay, especially given they have ski/boot storage and a warming room for all of your gear, and lockers if need be. The staff was especially nice and helpful, we look forward to returning.
3.5
you can ski down directly and clean and staff very pleasant
there is no other place to eat dinner around tsugaike
4.0
We enjoyed the large and clean room. The hotel has modern influences (jazz music, nice photography on the walls, trendy furniture) and traditional Japanese style (bath area, breakfast and dinner). It's located along one of the main Tsugaike ski runs, you just have to cross the parking lot to start skiing. We also liked the cheap coin laundry and clothes dryers.
The ski equipment provided by the hotel's 'standard rental shop' was really below par, very old and old fashioned. After a day we handed in the rentals and went to Rental Arai in the village. Also beware there is no elevator...
