A surprisingly tasteful and comfortable hotel. We loved the original decor. There were some aspects that could be improved, for example our bedroom door leading to the passage didn't fit the doorway properly, letting light in during the night. The chef was excellent. Wonderful dinner, although on the expensive side.
The shower was a bit grubby inside and our bedroom door didn't fit the doorway properly, allowing light in during the night.

It was beautifully decorated and clean. A nice pool area outside for the kids and having a bar and restaurant inside is really convenient. The staff are really helpful and friendly.
The meal options at the restaurant wern't quite to our liking and quite pricey, we ended up going to another really nice restaurant down the road which worked out perfectly. There wasn't any TV in the room if that's what you are looking for and you need to arrange for the gate to be opened each time you wish to leave and come back but having the safe parking area is a big plus for the area.

The reception was excellent even if it was late at night. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Louis and Merinda are very good hosts.
We only spent one night.

The hotel has been renovated and for someone who has been there before this was a major improvement. This is a little gem halfway between Cape Town and Jhb.
Please keep up the maintenance. The shower hear was leaking water out at the top when opened and this reduce the water stream.

An oasis in the middle of Hanover! We are always warmly greeted by staff and check in is a breeze.
Nothing better than having an ice cold drink next to the pool after a full day of driving.
The bedrooms are spacious and the bed super comfy.

What an unexpected gem in the middle of the Karoo! On our way to the coast, we stopped at the Hanover garage to fill up with petrol. The gentleman in the curio / farmers' shop told us that the hotel had been refurbished and was becoming quite popular. On a whim, we decided to book a night in the hotel for our return trip from the coast. From the WhatsApp messages while we were travelling to the quirkily decorated hotel, everything exceeded our expectations. The hosts (Kyle, in particular) were attentive to our needs and ensured that we were comfortable. The sparkling swimming pool was most inviting after a long and hot car trip. The meals were delicious (limited menu - reasonably priced - catering for all tastes, including vegetarians) and served promptly in the lovely dining room. The bar offered a wide variety of drinks (including all types of Inverroche gin!). Lights continued to work during load-shedding, which was an unexpected bonus. Clean and spacious room, with dressing table, table and chairs and an en suite bathroom (shower, basin & toilet). We'll definitely be making the refurbished Hanover Hotel a regular stop on future trips.
There were only three minor concerns:
1) If you are reliant on WiFi, the connection is quite spotty. This was not an issue for us, as we were in holiday mode, but it could be a challenge for business travellers.
2) We stayed in Room 1, with a window overlooking the street. There was quite a bit of pedestrian traffic outside. Net / lace curtains would afford guests more privacy. We had to close our curtains, which made the room quite dark.
3) The wicker lampshade over the fridge / kettle area hangs very low. We constantly bumped our heads on it!

Pink palace in the desert, we loved it. Beautifully renovated, art deco deluxe and clever eye-catching pieces at every step. Loved the high beds, linens, and big shower. The restaurant served a delicious dinner that is very cleverly pre-ordered via whatsapp. The staff are top rate, thrilled to host and the bar cozy and vibey. Lovely pool off the terrace for those hot days and super thick white towels. Well done, Kyle and team. Thanks, Marinda and Dorette, for all the communication.

Amazing oasis for us to stay over on our way to Cape Town. This hotel is spectacular with clean and comfortable rooms and a beautiful pool to rest next to after a long drive. The staff are super helpful and Luther the Chef made the best Skaapstert that I have ever tasted :)

Very warm welcome after a long drive from Cape Town, and a beautiful candle-lit dinner!

Loved the decor. And the room was a great size. Bed was comfy. And they had electric blankets.
They hairdryer needs a special adapter which was missing so could not use it. There was no one in the building to ask for anything and to get out early the next morning. Air con did not work properly.
