Room is very clean, modern and decent size (not big but not too small). Compared to all other hotel options we found, this was certainly more modern and new, although it's located in an old building. The location of just a few minutes walk to the train station was excellent. We had issue with the recommended parking lot and couldn't load the website for some reason, but it actually worked out better for us to park in the train station since we needed to leave the car there beyond check-out time of the room. The staff communicated very readily which was a big help. Follow the instructions you receive in the email and the following texts and you won't have check-in issues. We chose not to include the breakfast and were happy we just went to the same coffee shop on our own and ordered what we wanted instead of being confined to what the arranged, small breakfast was. There is a small, self-serve coffee machine in the hallway but make sure to have coins to use it.
It's important to realize that certain things are going to be an issue no matter what hotel you find in this older town. There is nowhere to pull up near the hotel and unload luggage since it's a busy street. For anyone who is not used to the concept of aparthotels this location might seem unusual. It's a bunch of individual, modern rooms that have been set up on one of the floors of this old apartment building.
We followed the instructions and were able to get into the building. But then, being late at night, the staircase up was completely dark without one single light, like an abandoned building. I imagine it's part of the effort to save on electricity. It was a bit spooky and we weren't sure to continue. But then finding the main door of the company, you step into a fully lit corridor that feels like you've entered another building entirely. So just keep that in mind if you encounter the same dark staircase.
There is a bit of street noise but that is probably the same in any of the buildings around town. And the little fridge made a lot of noise during our sleep so we had to unplug it.

Location to train
Parking hard, all close parking was full.
Felt a bit like a doctors or dentist surgery, not warm and welcoming.

The room was newly renovated and spacious.
There was NO contact with staff on-site at all. We nearly missed all of the information set for self checkin via booking.com. we had to complete all online in advance or no access to property. We were charged double the tax for a 2 night stay.
The lift to the third floor is an experience. only used it twice because of luggage. Something from the last century and only big enough for one person and a suitcase.
The breakfast is a couple of vouchers to a local cafe for an Italian breakfast (coffee and croissant). We paid for an upgrade to an English breakfast (an egg on toast, a slice of bacon and some yoghurt) which cost us another 17 Euro and it was terrible!!
We didn’t even bother with the provided breakfast on the second morning - instead we went
down the street to another cafe on the right and had eggs and avocado on toast with a pot of tea
for €9 each. Would recommend the company find a better breakfast provider or reduce their room rate.

This is a great location. Literally 4min from la spezia centrale. I looked and searched cinque terre and puerto venere and so glad I went with the cinque terre gateway. We came from Milan and had multiple delays. I informed the owner of our plans and emailed the property. He immediately responded and the day of travel, I was in constant communication with him. We arrived late..this is not a hotel. There is no reception. So the owner provided us with all the information for checkin. It went very smoothly. People who complained about the late arrival didn't read and contact the property with travel plans. We had water and tea kettle in our room. Beds were comfy and to be honest everything we needed. Pharmacy is close, port is close to even take a boar ride. Great restaurants to walk and eat at night. Thanka you Mike for everything. You made our visit very comfortable.

Located within 5 mins of train station and on the corner of the main street. Easy access to all the amenities of La Spezia. Room large and spacious lovely ensuite, cleaned daily and complimentary water staff very attentive. Would highly recommend to anyone as a base for exploring Cinque terre.
Just a note It's on the third floor, it has a lift but anyone with mobility issues there are other accomadations in this building and people don't always close the lift properly. Had to climb the stairs a couple of nights. Certainly have nothing against this property loved my stay in Cinque Terre gateway..

absolutely perfect stay! Facilities were comparable to a Marriott or other major chain and the location was ideal for the la spezia train station.

The big room and bathroom with a pure white decoration. Also the fact that it was closed to restaurants and a market.
We had a little trouble finding it.

Close to train and restaurants. Basic but very clean room with lovely staff
The building was a bit in disrepair. However the hotel has its own floor which was a bit unusual.

Great location for train access to the cinque Terra villages which were fantastic. Very good choice of restaurants etc.very close by
Friendly, helpful and informative host. Room spacious and spotless
Complementary water much appreciated.
Thought too many notices " Do Not " These were off-putting and not really needed as a chat with the host reassured us

Very well located, few minutes walking from La Spezia station. A big room with a good shower.
The staff is really welcoming and arrange everything to you to checkin earlier or leave your suitcases in the hotel before the checkin hours in case the room is not ready
The breakfast is an Italian breakfast and I don’t think it worths to pay in advance when you book the room or pay at the property. You can choose only one croissant with different flavors such as cream, plain, pistachio + one drink (hot chocolate, cafe or fruit juice)

Nothing. Also, didn’t like the service and support from Booking.com either
Everything to start with. Staff was very rude and got into verbal and almost into physical abuse. They humiliated and the worst stay I ever had I. my entire life so far…

Nice location and clean room.
Good tips from the reception on restaurants, travelling to 5 terre.
The central heating was not on. The airco could only cool the room, not heat it. Due to cold rainy weather the room was too cold. We tried to call the reception number twice at 5pm, but there was no asnwer and no calling back.
The Sat TV was not user friendly for finding the channels, very slow in changing channels. Many channels had no signal.
Strange crack in the shower floor
No Breakfast served in the place. The advise was to go to the bar opposite the hotel, which was a very noisy place. This not was a disappointment.

The Hotel is located 5 minutes away from the railway station.
Unfortunately our room did not have a "view".
Our windows opened out to the laundry drying from the floors above.
As we didn't spend much time in the room, the view did not really matter, but waking up to seeing your building neighbours laundry, is a buzzkill.

Host Michael is very nice and helpful. Great location! Walk to harbor to get to Porto Venere and Cinque Terre or walk to train station from hotel in just 5 minutes
Beds are hard.
