Spacious appt for 2 (bathroom quite small for 4). We enjoyed it very much. Parking can be a problem (weekend). Cortona is lovely, we enjoyed the village and its surroundings.

Nice location with easy access. Terrace great but only early morning when cool. Missed my air conditioner but fans helped . Plenty of room for 2. Quiet and comfortable.

I was in Tuscany for my son’s wedding in San Giuliano Terme. The week prior to wedding week, I drove solo to Cortona for some me time. The apartment was just what I wanted…the view from the large terrace overlooking Val di Chiana was spectacular. It is a short (uphill) walk to the piazzas and shops. Parking is free just below the apartment outside the city wall. You will need to carry your bag up two flights of steps. The apartment is a short walk from there. I selected Cortona as home base due to location/access to several of the nearby hill towns I wanted to visit. Anghiari (considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy) and Montepulciano are two favorites. Sienna is lovely as well…bigger and busier.
Of note, the apartment is perfect for solo, couples and small families. There is not a living room, but the master bedroom is spacious with a couch/futon. The fabulous terrace for me served as the main living space.
Very nice place. Spectacular views. Great location.

I wish we could have stayed longer. The outside patio is worth it alone! However, to get a view, you have to climb. Make sure your knees are strong and your luggage is light.

We loved absolutely everything about our stay in Cortona! Samantha and Alen were great communicators and made the check in easy.
The apartment is perfection! From the tall, shuttered windows, beautiful tiled floors, high ceilings and amazing terrace, it was amazing!! The location couldn’t have been better and the views….. Even though I didn’t really use it, the kitchen was well stocked. All in all- wow!!
We didn’t want to leave and hope to be back.

This is a wonderful property in a quiet area, but only a short walk to the piazza and restaurants. The only improvement I would recommend is the shower caddy; all of my travel sized items kept falling out of it.

Quaint, comfortable apartment with spectacular views from patio. Easy walking distance to main square. Alen, the property manager who checked us in was great; a Cortona resident who provided lots of suggestions. Samantha, the owner was also easy to work with and stayed in communication from booking to departure. Highly recommend property and host. For those arriving by train, I would suggest booking a taxi well in advance as they are difficult to arrange. We booked Saban Salijevic who was great! He also does tours. His contact info is +393382877210 and [email protected]

The biggest problem is that we only stayed two nights. Although Cortona may be off the normal travel route, it has been our favorite town to visit. It is quaint, clean and very welcoming.
Alen, who checked us in, was great as he gave perfect recommendations and was available via Whatsapp if we needed anything.
If you rent a car, there is parking very, very close by.
We did cooking classes at Fattoria Bistecca, which was highlight of trip. 7 km drive.

I have always wanted to go to Tuscany. My sister and I enjoyed three nights in this wonderful apartment that was so comfortable and views were amazing! Wish we could have stayed longer

Our panoramic view from the huge terrace says it all. The valley lights at night were magical. We stayed for a month and caught three different SpaceX satellite launches one week. The basics are there, too. Super comfortable beds and linens, great wifi, clothes washer. The location is perfect, a 5 minute walk to the central piazza. I can't imagine any other property coming close to this.

Lovely apartment inside the town walls with parking nearby just outside the gate. Great sun terrace with an outstanding view. Samantha is an amazing host and answered every question promptly. Cortona is a gorgeous place and we will be back.

The view from our simple, but spartan apartment was outstanding. We also appreciated being very close to the palazza.

The only problem is the picture of the couch and tv was misleading. I thought the apartment contained a family room.

The main attraction of this apartment is the terrace it is amazing with fantastic views! The rest of the apartment is spacious and comfortable could maybe do with a few more kitchen items a jug for milk and large glass for beer but apart from that it was great. Fabulous location and great restaurants nearby. Cortona is the best place we visited during our week long stay in Tuscany.
Highly recommended

Absolutely Beautiful and Amazing
Cortona was a perfect place to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
This apartment was beautiful and immaculate. In a quiet and wonderful area, a three minute walk to towne centre. The balcony with its view was spectacular overlooking miles and miles of Tuscany.

Bellissimo!!!!!
We planned this trip for over a year. Anticipation is part of the journey and our anticipation for Casa di Amici was immense. We knew it would be wonderful, but never expected just how wonderful it would be.
We expected a great terrace, but had no idea how amazing it would be. We had a 180 degree view of Tuscany to the west of Cortona. Our sunsets were amazing! We watched a rain cloud come in with the sunset behind it and dissipate into an inkblot—with no rain. We saw the moon shine bright at night and the twinkle of the lights of Montepulciano and the other towns and hill towns in the distance. In the morning, the beautiful green of the valley below was magical. This terrace alone is worth the fair price of this apartment.
As well, the amenities are wonderful with comfortable beds! The queen is larger than an American queen. There are expensive bed linens that are soft, with a high thread count. Drawers and hanging space for clothes is immense, and the décor is lovely—including the crystal chandelier in the twin room with the sofa and TV. There are screens on the windows—so uncommon in Europe. The huge towels are plentiful, soft and fluffy, and unlike most vacation rentals.
Samantha has paper towels, an American coffee pot (wow!), filters, two soap pods for your laundry in the amazing washing machine, dish soap, toilet paper, coffee to get you started, tea, wine glasses, plenty of dishes, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper (one of our rentals did not provide it), fantastic terrace furniture with a table and 4 chairs as well as a comfortable chat set with cushions. She has a TV—we never turned it on. Her refrigerator is of a large size for Europe. It has an ice cube tray—but if you need another, bring your own.
Casa d’Amici is so close to the via Roma gate and free parking that it is perfect for the big hills of Cortona. A short walk up via Roma, and you are to the heart of Cortona--the Piazza della Repubblica. It is a wonderful place to be, morning, noon or night. Families, shopkeepers, and of course, tourists are there. It is not crowded like Firenze---just vibrant, fun and alive.
The prices for the restaurants are less expensive than in Oregon, and shops in the square charge fair and somewhat inexpensive prices. We noted that Enoteca Molesini, in the square, offered extremely fair prices for wine as did at least one of the little everyday markets in town.
Don't hesitate to rent this lovely villa.

A great base for travelling around tuscany
couldn’t think of a better place to stay. It was in a beautiful location, the terrace was a delight especially in the eve’s sitting out having a drink or two. I had hired a car and parking was so easy and close. Def would rent again. The apt itself was beautifully clean bright and spacious.

Met Every Expectation!
Sam and Terry’s comfortable apartment is exactly what I wanted it to be. They were incredibly helpful prior to my arrival, and during my stay. The apartment itself is perfectly set up. The terrace is fantastic and a place of great joy in the morning and in the evening. Cortona itself is a charming medieval town. It’s exactly what you would expect from all that you read and see about it. The apartment was set up with all of the necessary amenities. It’s a two-minute walk into town for all of the things one requires during holiday. I enjoyed my stay there more than Florence!

True gem in Cortona!
We absolutely loved our stay. The apartment was immaculate and beautifully furnished. The location was excellent - just a few minutes walk up to the main square, yet we felt like locals since we were living amongst them. Every night on the way home from dinner we were sweetly greeted by the neighbor’s cat, “Piccolo.” The views of the Tuscan landscape from the patio were breathtaking, and I should add that the beds were SO comfortable we were really able to catch up on our sleep.
Should we return, which we hope to do, we would absolutely not hesitate to stay here again and in fact, wouldn’t even look at any other places!
We also took the pasta class offered by Samantha (the chef we had teaches at a nearby culinary school!) and it was one of the highlights of our trip. :-)

Stunning Views From Lovely Terrace
Cortona is a wonderful small hill town, perfect for exploring, relaxing, and as a home base for day trips throughout Tuscany.
Samantha was a responsive and helpful host, both before and throughout our stay. We enjoyed her warm welcome and restaurant recommendations. She is clearly dedicated to assuring her guests have a wonderful experience.
The apartment is as pictured, quiet and comfortable. WiFi was fast and reliable. Plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The greatest feature is the large terrace which we used for morning coffe, and evening wine and appetizers.
We can highly recommend both Samantha and her apartment and would gladly book again on any future trip to Tuscany.

OMG, the VIEW!!!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Sofia Terrace. Samantha and her husband Terry couldn't have been more efficient and helpful. The flat is so quaint (about a 600 year old building!) and the breathtaking view from the terrace is stunning. Sitting out there basking in the sun with a glass of wine is the epitome of sheer relaxation. The flat itself is very charming and quite roomy. The kitchen was great for breakfasts and snacks. The city of Cortona is walled so you can't bring your car in. No worries there are convenient parking lots (free) nearby. Yes, you walk up stairs and a hill to get to the flat, but that is the charm.of this hilltop town. Pace yourself and you will do fine. Comfy shoes are a must. Many restaurants inntown and Samantha recommended one that we really enjoyed. She has lots of other useful info for you too.
All in all, we couldn't have been happier and definitely recommend this home to anyone who wants to enjoy historic Cortona AND feel like a local!
Thanks, Samantha and Terry!!!

The location was great, Samantha was very nice and helpful
My only problem with this property was having to pay the cleaning fee in cash and not knowing about it until we had already booked, also being charged for using the heat was unusual, we have rented many apartments in Italy in the past .
