Hoe Engels wil je het hebben? Een inn uit ergens 1600, met allerlei kleine hoekjes, op- en afstapjes. Boven de 1,75 meter? Dan loop je een groot deel van de tijd gebogen omdat het vaak erg laag is. Kamer OK, erg warm, bed smal, douchen in bad. Medewerkers erg vriendelijk. Eten in het restaurant prima. Ontbijt ook wel.

Nice size double room.
Friendly staff at all times.
Good choices at breakfast, all cooked to order
Rooms looked a little tired in places, marks of use clearly visible.
4.3
Varied choices for breakfast so a good selection. Order was taken the evening before so that staff knew exactly what you required. Also a buffet selection of cereals and fruit
For us there was nothing to dislike
4.3
Breakfast was excellent
Nothing to dislike.

Overall my experience of this hotel was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the Inn was a delightful building. I would recommend it and would stay here again if I was in the area.
Being hyper-critical the cooked breakfast was good but could have been a little better in a couple of ways.
The room similarly was small, but it did say it would be, but I think it could have been a bit better. The fold-up table would have been better if it was a wall fixed hinged shelf instead. The kettle was cheap and cheerful but actually not that safe, as the cable was too short to fit properly on said table, and there was no other place to plug it in. My only other niggle was the lack of a nonslip surface or mat in the shower.

The breakfast was below average

Really disappointed. After requesting an Invoice on 5 occasions via message, email and phone, I had to resort to going through booking .com to obtain one.
4.3
The quirky nature/character of the building
The hallway floor going past room 4 creaks and shifts too loudly

The young lady that met us & served breakfast was very good.
Breakfast was also cooked very well.
Parking
The bar staff spent more time serving a group at the large table next to the bar & delivering these drinks. On two occasions, our drink orders were wrong & and again, the staff were more interested in serving the group at the table. Now, I'm all for muti tasking, but get it right.
We booked a table for 1830 to eat, after about 10 mins of sitting down a young girl came to take our order, but my partner asked for a little while longer, a good 30 mins went past so she went to the bar to get some more drinks & to ask for service to be told "sorry I forgot about you" The food when it did come was nothing special & not once did the young girl apologise whilst serving or taking away.
It's just a pity that the bar the 2 young bar staff on that afternoon/evening let your property down, as I've said the girl whom met us, served breakfast & took payment on depture was excellent.

Anvil Inn is located at a beautiful spot in the village within short driving distance to the main towns around. Clean and comfortable rooms with rustic appeal. The breakfast was great and the staff are fantastic.
Parking slots are a bit narrow and getting in and out is a bit tricky if you park in the angled spaces closer to the building.
4.3
The room was very well presented with cushions, towels and gels/shampoos beautifully laid out on the bed. The breakfast was very tasty and the service of hotel/bar and cleaning staff was great and they could not help us enough!
4.3
Very well appointed room and ensuite for the price. Generous cooked breakfast.
We have no criticisms at all.

Anna was very gracious is trying to help with an IT issue I had with an email - thanks and credit to her.
Evening meal in the bar was mediocre. My ribeye steak was too thin - felt a little short-changed.
