Warm and friendly. Facilities were clean and tidy.
Only the fact that I’m quite tall and had to duck through a few doors!

I didn't like anything about this property. The staff looked nice, though.
The property and the room offered urgently need refurbishment and modernisation. It is an old pub but you cannot offer this property for guests accommodation in the actual state. The room was ugly, dated, dirty with long hair found on the bed sheets (see photos), extension lead hanging on the wall, dirty and dated shower room, very dirty carpets in the hallway (they were OK-ish in the room).
Probably the worst place I stayed in Europe.

Quirky rooms set above a lovely English pub

Location to Warner bros excellent, staff exceptional, food delicious especially breakfast, well worth the money, pub downstairs very old and quirky ,comfortable beds, large telly in room .comfortable but basic but fine for a one night stay .

The History of the building.
The beds are uncomfortable - these need to be removed and new ones purchased ( the beds in the room which we stayed in definitely need to be updated)
The towels did not smell very nice / good - these need to be addressed also.
The bathroom needs updating, the toilet seat was cracked, cracked broken tiles.

lovely building with historical charm
couldn’t seem to get any hot water but wasn’t too fussed about it as it was only a flying visit

Everything
A bit far from London but we knew this

Lovely old pub - fantastic welcome from publican who showed us to our room personally after a long flight. Room basic but clean and comfortable. Nice atmosphere downstairs in pub and perfect location to visit WB Harry Potter studios the next day

Staff lovely, helpful and friendly. Bed was comfortable
Room was cold, despite a fan heater provided. Wi-fi was not available. Childs chicken nuggets were very overcooked, although I appreciate we arrived just before service stopped.

We stayed 1 night for a visit to the Harry Potter studio tour. Everything was perfect
No towels provided.

The food was good and the waiting staff were nice.
The room had an adjoining door with another room and we could hear everything through the door. There were no towels provided.

It was easy to find, the style was old fashioned which was nice. The outside of the building was definitely nice to look at. The duvet was comfy.
Parking was not great. The floors in the bathroom were quite dusty around the edge. The light in the bathroom didn't even have a cover over it. Was just a bulb on the ceiling. The socket by one of the bedsides was cracked and just about worked. The duvet was comfy yes, but the bed was incredibly small. The towels were TINY. The garden was a mess and looked a bit like a dumping site.
The shower looks like it's on its last legs as well, the fixture was loose but the dial was stuck, had to get my other half to wedge it to work properly. The showerhead was blocked with hard water so I had to wipe it down a few times to get it to kind of work - even then the connection was already gone somewhere as it was leaking further down the tube.
When we went to leave I was left standing in the main area for about 5-10 minutes before someone came over to me and didn't even know what to do with the key. Didn't even ask how the stay was or gave a simple goodbye. I would have said something to the owner if they were there but we needed to rush to get off annoyingly.
Something that I don't think was very well planned also was the fire exit light. It's in the middle of the room, neon green and when all the lights are off to sleep you feel like you are in a rave. I think that was poor planning whoever authorised that fitting.
The place could seriously do with some TLC and a good cleaner to come in!

Location to HP tour
From the smell of urine in the room to the keyhole in the mirror to another room.

Friendly welcoming staff. Quirky building
Breakfast starts too late at 9am so we ended up missing out on having a breakfast.
Creaky floorboards and staircase up to the room felt unsafe. Not suitable for anyone with limited mobility.
Pillows were very flat.

The location was perfect for what at we were looking for. And was a great base for the plans we had. Room was sufficient, and the room stayed at a good temperature. There was a decent amount of space in the room, though it would benefit from one less piece of furniture, or a smaller piece.
We had to move the bed to find a toy my daughter dropped. There was a line under the bed that was about half a centimetre of thick dust.
As though the bed is pulled out and hoovered, but it’s couldn’t be pulled out far enough, due to the space. Please try and lift the bed to hoover.
We stripped the beds when we left and discovered stains on the mattress protectors and also on the pillows. Beds were less comfortable than we had hoped for. And there was only 2 seats, though we had 3 people staying.
Food served was good, but unfortunately I was served undercooked chicken, when I told the waitress/barstaff, she cleared the table but said no more about it. The service was not consistent. Some nights it was good, other nights the food was coming out at different times and had to be reminded we were waiting for food. They also didn’t have all the food available at all times. (Food deliveries late, or having just run out)
Though the shower pressure was nice, adjusting the temperature was not easy - as though the fitting needed replaced, the drain was slow to drain so the shower base filled up a little.

Food very nice
The overnight room was very dirty, water in shower could have been very dangerous as was boiling hot water. The temperature handle was even broken.
The room we had was over the bar and was very noisy, and music seemed loud.

We stayed for 2 nights. The room was big, very comfortable & clean. We had breakfast both mornings as well as dinner both evenings. The food was excellent, good portions and reasonably priced. The staff were very helpful & friendly...thank you Lesley, Gemma & Sue for looking after us. We chose this place as it is only a 6 minute drive from the Harry Potter Warner Brothers studio tour that we'd booked.

Pub is amazing inside, very old-world charm and feel.
We had a mid-week stay, pub quiet, no noise in room.
Enjoyed a good meal and a cold beer, staff friendly and helpful.
We would stay again, would like to like to check out the walking opportunities along the Union Canal.
Why spoil a good thing, the price was right, this is an old building, it has character.

I didn't like anything , I absolutely adored it!! Second time staying here, the food was out of this world , ti say we travelled over 200miles , was able to order food to our room and be eating within 10minutes of settling in ,and the food was super fresh, absoloutly 100% salt of the earth . Couldn't recommend enough.
Nothing. Absoloutly no complaints

The helpfulness of the staff, the atmosphere, and the food.
Someone had nicked the remote to the tv. So nothing horrible. Things they couldn't control.

Unique pub

Short taxi ride to Harry Potter. Great evening and breakfast menus including great value children's menu. We requested an extra bed in the twin room and it was great.
Floors are very creaky but the building is 17th century and full of character so probably unavoidable and didn't keep us awke

Meals were available all day and were delicious and good value for money. The pub is old English, welcoming and interesting. The location so convenient for Harry Potter world. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Pub garden is a little run down, but plenty of space to sit and have a meal outside.

I booked in the room just for one night for myself. I arrived on site and they didn't have any recording of my booking as they had some issues with the Booking.com reservations because of their wifi. They made me leave for 30 min while they fixed me a room. This wasn't a huge issue off course although as temporary measure they should have at least used a mobile hotspot in order to maintain a temporary connection and as well mentioned clearly there won't be wifi in the rooms. No discount or partial refund was offered for this issue to apologize for this. While I was waiting for my room I had an emergency call (my wife is 7 months pregnant and was going to the triage urgently as the baby wasn't moving) I asked kindly to cancel my booking and get a refund due to the emergency situation. This wasn't granted and the only option was just a cancellation with no refund. I was forced to drive back to ensure my wife was ok and return to the hotel later on to not lose the money I have spent on a wasted booking. The room has thin paper walls, I was separated from another guest by a thin door. I could hear every single whisper my "neighbour" was making. Although they state checkout is available from 7am, there was no one downstairs. I had no time to waste so I left the key near the till and rushed out (although there was a sign on my room that kindly encouraged to checkout with one of their staff and to leave the key with them). I briefly emailed the hotel to inform them I wasn't happy with the wifi issue and to let them know where my key was left. Heard nothing back.
