Para desconectar 100% recomendable

Tranquilidad y paz. Resto de huéspedes respetando el descanso del resto. Comedor equipado para uso de cualquiera.

Quizás el tamaño de la habitación un poco justa, pero nada que suponga un impedimento para disfrutar la estancia.

Quiet hotel in the centre of the island

Great location if you want to stay away from the busy, noisy tourist resorts. Good breakfast (11 Euro extra charge so not cheap).

Dinner on first night was disappointed so we did eat dinner only once, there is very limited option to eat out, one restaurant 10 min walk from the hotel but closes quite early. Few min drive to the town of San Mateo for more restaurant options.

Nice relaxing place to stay.

Nice building (old farm?) and nice gardens. Staff was nice. Breakfast was good and it was possible to order dinner (set menu).

Probably impossible to get there if you don't have your own car. The staff was nice but, maybe because it was low season, the reception was always closed. We only saw the staff at breakfast and dinner. Check in is with instructions sent by text message explaining where to find the key to your room, etc.

Hotel in the mountains, good for walks!

Nice place in a small village in the mountains. Parking, closed property, old and beautiful buildings, garden with swimming pool and relaxing areas. Honesty bar and fireplace. Nice breakfast in the dining room and patio. colonisl style. Nice place for mountain walks.Helpful staff. She had a lot to do and was extremely busy, but introdused us to all the facilities.

We did not have hot water in the bathroom and the room was chilly, but with heating during the evening. Not in the bathroom. It was ok during the night, but cold in the morning with only 8 degrees outside.

Little paradise for refreshing.

-The quietness! -Very tastefully decorated rooms and beautiful gardens. -Good breakfast and 3 courses dinner for good price. -Very kind and helpful stuff.

-The WiFi in the room was weak. -The shower needs to be improved.

Beware Room 8!

Relaxed atmosphere, pretty gardens - and authentic. The staff that we met were friendly and competent. Breakfasts overlooking the garden were enjoyable.

We seemed to be especially unlucky with our room (#8), Average reviews for this property are good - hence we booked with confidence - but looking back carefully at previous reviews, the same problems have been repeatedly identified, with very low scores for this room (and perhaps also room #9 next door). The owners need to urgently pay attention to these issues - or charge considerably less for these rooms. At 120 euros per night we felt well and truly misled, and extremely disappointed. The main issue is noise. These rooms have been created using lightweight partitions - you can hear every word and action from the room and bathroom next door - and from the kitchen below (from which cooking smells filtered upwards and in to our room). In two nights we got almost no sleep and had a fairly unpleasant experience. There was no on-site management to raise this issue with - and we knew the place was fully booked, so there was no chance of a room change. We had pre-paid via Booking.com. Had that not been the case, we'd have left after the first night and also queried the room rate/ bill. We've travelled around the Canaries, staying in different sorts of accommodation including other Hotel Rurales: by comparison this one was very overpriced and of an unexpectedly poor standard. In addition, the room was very small, scruffy and in urgent need of refurbishment. There was very little space in the room and no useful furniture or shelving. The bathroom was dark, cramped and inadequate - really just a box within a box. The shower head had been glued to the wall and easily fell off - but in fact there was no hot water on either day. At a very basic level - ie: no sleep and no shower - this place let us down in terms of accommodation. At 120 euros per night it was exploitative. The communal facilities (lounge, outdoor furniture etc.) could also do with some love/ upgrading - but this was the least of our concerns.

A wonderful visit but disappointing that there is nowhere near to get a good meal.

A quirky fun hotel to stay. Enjoyed the swimming pool area and the large "play" room with its diy wood burning fireplace, honesty bar and basic kitchen facilities. Would visit again

There was no management on site during our stay but young women who cleaned and cooked were very helpful and friendly. The evening meal was very basic. Unfortunately there are only two small bars with food a short walking distance away. So great location to relax but not for good food.

quiet countryside hotel ideally located for hiking & excursions

Stylish countryside hotel in a quiet location, with a nice garden. I chose this hotel because of its location, close to the hiking trails, and only 45 minutes by car to Las Palmas or the airport. There are two restaurants at 10 minutes walking distance, along the main road.

The room (suite) itself was spacious, but the double bed was quite small. WiFi reception was weak, and there was some confusion regarding the payment at check in.

Not what we expected, particularly poor breakfast

Booked this hotel based on the positive reviews but have just finished our 2 night stay feeling a bit confused. Pros first: if you have a car it's a good location to explore the mountains away from the tourists at the coastal resorts. Lovely friendly staff and it's certainly a quirky place with interesting buildings and gardens. Room was comfortable enough and large (though not luxurious). Honesty bar and pool area were fine.

Cons: I hate to say anything negative about an independent business that must have been affected by COVID, but these were simple things that should really be improved. Firstly the breakfast was so disappointing and in no way justified the extra cost. Previous reviews suggested this was a strong point so I can only guess that this service is reduced due to social distancing or something - but if this is the case, other hotels and restaurants on the island have handled COVID restrictions so much better. Breakfast consisted of a small bowl of stale cereal, stale bread, cheese and some old fruit. No buffet, no pastries, no eggs/cooked options, no fresh fruit (some of these things are advertised on the hotel website). I would have expected this at a basic walking hostel, not a hotel at this price point. Other minor issues: - The whole place feels quite cramped, partly because the gardens whilst nice and green are quite overgrown and need some attention - We were not offered the option of an evening meal, again I guess the kitchens were closed for COVID reasons but I'm not sure why this needs to be the case. The nearest restaurants are 10 minutes drive away in San Mateo. - No handsoap or drinking water provided in rooms - WiFi just didn't work the whole time we were there and a sign near the rooms states that WiFi access cannot be guaranteed. Thank you to the lovely owner/manager for having us despite this, it was difficult to discuss the above due to the language barrier but it was nice to meet you. Unfortunately we were quite disappointed but hopefully some of these things can be improved for future guests.

An amazing experience !

The owner and her stuff are very friendly and welcoming, they make you and your pet feel at home. The house is very cosy, you are surrounded by good taste, great traditional pieces of art . The garden is a tiny piece of heaven .

Garden sanctuary—comfortable, clean getaway for those seeking to stay in the countryside.

The staff was so friendly and it felt very welcoming and comfortable. It has a relaxed, country atmosphere. Immaculate rooms with a cozy feel. We enjoyed the free breakfast with fresh squeezed juice from their own orange trees. WiFi was good. We visited in the winter so we couldn’t take advantage of the lovely yard and pool.

The property is nestled in the hills on a pretty, private property but there is no place to walk to from property. San Mateo is a nice town with many restaurants and stores but is a 10 minute drive away. The roads in the area are very sketchy-narrow, windy and steep. Not recommend for a timid driver.
