The location was exactly what we were looking for rural,quiet but with many excellent restaurants in the village which was surrounded by vines!
The breakfast was self serve with plenty of choice to choose from albeit pricey at €18 each!

Traumhafte Lage, sehr schöne Innenaustattung. Gutes Frühstück, sehr nettes und hilfsbereites Personal. Es war alles Bestens ...ausser da war eine grosse Hochzeitsgesellschaft die haben gefeiert bis morgens früh . Falls Sie buchen wollen, informieren Sie sich bitte ob eine Hochzeit stattfindet. Und im voraus auch das excellente Restaurant reservieren das zum Hotel gehört, sonst müssen Sie, wie wir, auswärts essen. Schade um diesen "Haken" ansonst absolut empfehlenswert. Frühstück in einem schönen Raum und lecker! Auch die Bedienung sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sehr zu empfehlen da auch das Dorf wunderschön ist und man auch sehr schöne Wanderungen unternehmen kann, oder Fahrrad.
Da war eben eine grosse Hochzeitsgesellschaft die haben gefeiert die ganze Nacht und der Beat von der Musik unter uns war schon eingedämmt aber doch unangenehm. Gott sei Dank hat es gestürmt und geregnet somit konnte nicht auf der schönen grossen Terrasse über der die Zmmer mit bester Aussicht waren gefeiert werden. Sonst hätten wir nicht schlafen können. Sie haben gefeiert bis morgens früh ( 6:00) Und dann lauttstark noch unter meinem Schlafzimmerfenster gegröhlt und laut gelacht und geredet, wie das bei Feiern eben ist, nichts dagegen aber bitte nicht unter meinem Schlazimmerfenster, das ich offen hatte, weil keine Klimaanlage da ist und es tagsüber 35 Grad war und ich wollte unbedingt abkühlen. Es hätte nicht unbedingt sein müssen das Fenster zu öffnen da solche schöne alte Gebäulichkeiten doch eigentlich nicht allzu sehr aufhitzen und es gab auch einen Ventilator. Der Beat von der Musik unter uns war schon eingedämmt aber doch sehr unangenehm. Gott sei Dank hat es gestürmt und geregnet am Abend somit konnte nicht auf der schönen grossen Terrasse die über den Zimmer mit bester Aussicht waren, gefeiert werden. Sonst hätten wir nicht schlafen können. Wie gesagt, alles Bestens nur eben... Falls Sie buchen wollen, informieren Sie sich bitte ob eine Hochzeit stattfindet.

Restaurant auch für Hotelgäste ohne Vorbuchung keinerlei Essensangebot!! Trotz intensiver Nachfrage!!! Terrasse wie eine einzige billige Steinwüste ohne jegliches Grün! Trotz mehrfache Hinweise anderer Hotelgäste in den Kommentaren, Abfluss auch in unserer Dusche verstopft, überlaufen und übler Geruch. Service hektisch und ungeschult bzw. kein Interesse am Gast. Reaktion immer nur auf Nachfrage mit wenig Bereitschaft dem Wunsch des Gastes zu folgen.

keine Ahnung warum dieses Hotel 4 Sterne hat. Das Personal recht unhöflich, schon beim Check in. Bei Nachfrage auf ein schöneres Zimmer, wurde der Ton noch unhöflicher (man spricht kein Deutsch - nur Englisch oder Französisch) - ergo wir haben das Zimmer behalten. Es war alles ziemlich verschmutzt, sogar die Zimmertür. Hinter den Ecken darf man nicht schauen. Im Bad ist ein komischer Plastikboden, der an der Dusche sehr schmuddelig ist. Auch hatten wir keine Nespresso Maschine, die in anderen Zimmern vorhanden waren.
Das Frühstück ist mager ausgestattet, die Frühstückstafel sehr eng, sodass man stets aufpassen muss, nicht an jemanden zu stoßen.
Der Kellner war total nass geschwitzt, das ganze weiße Hemd nass. Sehr unangenehm- vielleicht war er krank- aber bitte dann nicht im Service-
Der Spa Bereich ist ein Witz, es ist eher eine kleine Sauna für zwei Personen. Auch diese konnten wir nicht nutzen, man muss reservieren.

Das Hotel steht auf einer erhöhten Lage mit toller Aussicht. Das Doppelzimmer welcher wir jedoch buchten, entsprach weder unseren Erwartungen noch war das Preis- Leistungsangebot gerechtfertigt. Kleiner Raum mit Dachschräge, unsaubere Dusche, alter Teppichboden, kleines Fenster Richtung Norden.
Als wir um 19:00 Uhr eintrafen wollten wir einen Tisch reservieren für das Abendessen. Man sagte uns, dass die Küche geschlossen sei und man verwies uns auf ein Restaurant im Dorf. Wir erhielten die Keycard und eine Information worauf stand: Frühstück bis 10.30 Uhr.
Das Doppelzimmer welches wir buchten, entsprach weder unseren Erwartungen noch war das Preis-/Leistungsangebot gerechtfertigt. Kleiner Raum mit Dachschräge, unsaubere Dusche, alter Teppichboden, kleines Fenster Richtung Norden. Im Bett wurden wir von Wanzen gestochen.
Am nächsten Morgen wollten wir um 10.15 Uhr frühstücken. Die Theke mit Frühstück war leer. Auf unsere Frage hielten wir die Antwort, dass in der Information des Zeitrahmens für Frühstück einen Druckfehler sich eingeschlichen habe, es sollte heissen Frühstück bis 10.00 Uhr. Einen Kaffee hätten wir noch erhalten, was wir ablehnten.

For once, the wifi of the hotel was really usable. Was it a lack of resident at the hotel or that this hotel wifi was of good quality ? Can't tell, but it was good when we stayed. Around 4MB/s. No problem watching Youtube as an example.
Sad that they removed the Ethernet port from the rooms though. I guess it used to be even better !
The staff at the reception is great and really helpful.
Bed are absolutely not comfortable. Room was really noisy (every morning trucks come to unload/load things into/from the hotel, so don't expect sleeping after 8am while they let their engines running all the time), the wooden floor is squeaking and you hear your neighbors walking on it from the room.
Bathrooms don't evacuate the water properly so you more often end up making a mess in the bathroom, which I find is sad for the cleaning personal to have to dry after.
Breakfast wasn't great, if you come a bit late there isn't much left and yes, it can be refilled but you nearly feel like you're distrubing people when you ask for a refill.

Easy parking, the welcoming staff, the size of the bedrooms, the view on the vineyard, the really soft sheets, the “madeleines” as welcoming gifts, the location and the breakfast of course.
In July, having fresh/cold water in the room would have been welcome.
Fake plants in the bed room but it is a detail.

Room overlooking village and surrounding vineyards was lovely. Bathroom has been updated since our last stay now of a high standard. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Great location to explore St Hippolyte and so easy to just walk out from the hotel and pick up the walk to the next village across the vineyards - Orschwiller.
Not enough coffee pods and perhaps another suitcase 'seat' as I had to put mine on the floor but these are minor things

the setting is absolutely beautiful! next to vineyards and overlooking the town. unfortunately we arrived late from our trip else we would have loved to explore the hotel more. the staff were friendly and the rooms big and spacious. the weather was rainy so we could not spend much time outside.
the restaurant is lovely with a great waiter that tried his best to help all the tables - only thing is that the restaurant is super expensive, more than a night stay in the hotel. also please note, there are two towns in France with the same name. we worked out our motorbike trip to the other town and was very disappointed that we had another two hours to ride to the town with the same name as the booking was made here.

The surrounding area was perfect. The hotel was very nice and peaceful. On the room we had several teas, coffees, a cookie. Breakfast was very nice, and a lot!
The view on the vineyards was amazing.

The views, location, cleanliness and restaurant were wonderful. We would have loved to spend more time here and further explore the area, town and surrounding areas. It was really a magical little village.
Only complaint is that our bed in the family room was pretty firm, much too firm for me and I would have liked a few more pillow options.

The restaurant was more like a student refractory then what might be expected in a hotel of this standard. The food varied from the reasonable to the downright substandard with a limited range on offer. One dinner was enough after that we went elsewhere. Again the food fell far below what you would expect of a hotel of this standard. The restaurant staff were competent but did nothing to lift the cafeteria atmosphere of the dining room.

the room didn’t have air conditioning and fridge, that was surprising as hotel was 4 stars hotel. additionally, as we were located on 1 Flor we heard noises in till night coming from terrace and , it includes also smoking. the same night was occurring in the very morning . we tried to call reception one day around 20h and nobody was there

The hotel’s location is amazing, the potential of the location, building, terrace are obvious. The hotel did feel a bit dated and could do with a revamp (classic, chic, welcoming would be our suggestion). Staff we engaged with were friendly and had good language skills. Room was comfortable, maybe modernization of tv (no social media like YouTube, Netflix etc. available) would be useful. We understand that in a stunning location like this region tv/ social media shouldn’t be a priority, but it just adds to the experience. We didn’t make use of the sauna/ hammam, but appreciated its availability’s
