Très bon accueil, excellent rapport qualité prix

The room was really good, big, very clean, with AC, full equiped bathroom and breakfast was tasty and generous quantities. The location of the hotel is also good, in a walking distance to the city center.
Our only complaint is that as we went during Perahera festival (high season) but they hadn't updated prices in booking accordingly, we had to pay a higher price than the one booked and without breakfast included (even if it was included in our reservation). Even if the mistake was from the hotel, we were exhorted to pay a higher price with no chance to discuss about it and no apologies from staff either. If they had explained the situation we would have understood it and could have reached an agreement, but they didn't give us the chance. It was disappointing, specially because we chose the hotel due to its quality/price ratio.

Good location.
Very high price of the breakfast, lunch and dinner for very basic food.
Air conditioner of one room out of order.
If you come, do not take breakfast, lunch or dinner here.

The food was sensational!! Dinner buffet meal of delicious veggie specialities that we haven't had anywhere else.
Room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and we had a fabulous sleep. Large bathroom with the best shower we have had in Sri Lanka so far.

- Nice dinner buffet with a variety of vegetable currys
- Old but clean furnishing and bathroom
- hidden fees and worse exchange rate compared to latest official exchange rate if you pay in LKR (expect to pay about 15-20% more than price on booking)
- holes in mosquito net and no towels in the room
- awkward attempt to sell a tour with a tuk tuk driver who was connected to the guesthouse

the buffet supper was superb and the impromptu guitar concert by the owner a real bonus

well located on the hillside above Kandy and easy to walk or take tuk tuk down to lake. great view from our top floor room. comfortable beds, very clean rooms. the owners Sue and Faisal were super friendly and helpful with advice and we arranged a tour through them. we also enjoyed the Sri Kansan curry buffet in the evening.
the rooms are simple and bathrooms basic but I think this is reflected in the room rate.

The size of the room and the bed was fine. The host does also serve a delicious rice and curry, we did however ate it sad surroundings - the roof top is old and the light bad, flowers are dead and there was no music, so only sound was the constantly barking of the neighbors dog.
we had the room on first fluor, so we heard everyone passing by. The door to the balcony had no curtains. next to the hotel construction work was going on which was very noisy early in the morning. Everything at the hotel was very old and the owner was never able to give any changes despite we had to pay everything with cash only.

The very best was the dinner Sue made! They served like 12 different curry’s with rice! The were all vegan except for one chicken dish. It was arranged as a buffet and was sooo soo good! Even if you don’t stay here over night, just go there for dinner! But make sure to call first!
Breaksfast was also very good. Western style.
And sadly a new hotel opened right down the street and they played very loud music. I for myself wasn’t bothered by that. They stoppen playing at around 12pm. The morning were quiet.
The bathrooms could get a little turnover.

very nice hotel, wonderful dinner, nice view, nice area, not too far from the town (~20’ by foot)
Sue is very friendly and gives good advice.
there is a mosquito net for the bed and security lockers are available.
breakfast was ok and unfortunately we couldn’t take it on the rooftop because of the monkeys.
not always very hot water in the shower..

friendly staff, great clean rooms, nice breakfast - easy to plan trips with help from the host, who helped with breakfast box, finding rooms near adams peak
no Wi-Fi in the rooms and dinner expensive

Great location and lovely welcome. Nice food.
Wifi really bad, couldn't pay by card and roof top restaurant for the buffet dinner not available. Also, no beer...not huge issues, but when your paying $60+ a night expect these things to be available.

Curry dinner was pretty good. Owner was a bit gruff but a likeable character.
Would have been useful to have him help us with the train schedule - it was delayed by quite a bit and I didn't know how to check. Also, he seemed strangely uninterested in the Temple of the Tooth, telling us not to bother with the drum ritual. We went anyway, and I think it is Kandy's most famous attraction for a reason.

Breakfast, dinner and the staff were lovely! Felt like a very traditional Sri Lankan stay.

Location, accommodation.
Owners were reluctant to cancel last night of our stay because we had to get back to Canada before the Canadian border was to be closed to international flights. Other commitments I had made prior were more than willing to release our bookings due to the Covid-19 virus.

The food, especially the buffet supper, was the best we had in Sri Lanka in terms of tastiness. I booked this hotel (which is tricky to access by car as turning at the top is difficult) as the evening meal was recommended to me and I could not fault it. The food was excellent. But I'm sure there will be better hotels for the same price in Kandy. It is definitely worth a visit for the food which is on the 5th floor so there are a lot of stairs to negotiate. Each room had a balcony which was nice.
Wi-fi was very difficult. Showers cold. General upkeep of rooms not brilliant. Building work going on to both sides. A lot of stairs to climb. No ambiance in the rooftop restaurant.

It was a very nice hotel. All the staff were very friendly. Our dinner at night was exceptional. If you don't like climbing stairs we recommend you booking a downstairs room.
We enjoyed the whole experience.

Great location, amazing view from balcony and restaurant
Room furniture and facilities quite dated, staff were quite inflexible and unhelpful when I wanted to amend my booking
