We wanted to come somewhere incredibly special for our honeymoon and it exceed our expectations. We stayed in tent 2 for three nights and honestly upon arrival it was the most surreal experience. What a stunning breathtakingly beautiful location, with such lovely staff and the whole atmosphere was magical - calming mists and scents as you walk through the jungle. The food is also amazing. I'll be talking about this for the rest of my life - thank you.
Nothing could have been better - nothing. I know that they emailed to explain there is some construction work with the new restaurant. THIS WILL NOT IMPACT YOUR STAY WHAT-SO-EVER - you won't even be aware there's anything additional going on. Please go for it and get it booked - it's insanely special.

Bambu Indah is a true bohemian natural oasis that feels almost otherworldly. As a designer myself I have only ever experienced a handful of places that if feel have truely managed to create the ambience and achieve the curation in all aspects that this resort has from the architecture, to retaining the natural integrity of the rainforest, the staff and their interaction and communication style with one another and guests (so quiet and friendly) the attention to detail when night falls lighting incense and coils all around the resort, the scents used, the turn down service, the food and the drinkable water. This resort has stolen a piece of my heart I will cherish my experience here forever.
At no fault to the resort but just a warning to be mindful when walking down to the pools as the stepping stones down to the pools can be quiet slippery and treacherous when wet.

房间不提供塑料瓶装水,理解环保理念,几位员工反复强调了他们的滤水非常专业,但我好像还是拉肚子了,可能其它人没有问题;员工两次把我没有消费的项目误加到我的账单里,在我发现提出后非常nice的道歉并取消;

The grounds are beautiful and fun to walk through, the staff is excellent, the bar and restaurant atmospheric, dinner at both bar and river restaurant was wonderful.
Pools were a really big disappointment as only a couple very small shallow ones felt clean enough to swim, the lower ones the water was a really unappetising colour, some leaves/bugs,etc. Felt like we were nickel and dimed, paid £400+ a night (which is A LOT in Bali), but for an extra bed for our 4 year old, they charged an extra£40/night. Breakfast was mediocre. Also, they are building a lot more houses (it wasn’t disruptive at all), but I’m not sure the community spaces, especially pools can handle all the additional guests. Probably should have done a day pass…

An enchanting place: we did not want to leave, and when we did we felt utterly rejuvenated. A memorable holiday that we will never forget. We spent all day by the natural pools reading, swimming, and taking in the glorious landscape. We stayed 5 nights and did not want to venture out of the resort (we did make a trip to Ubudh town but retreated hastily to Bambu Indah). The food, the massages, the friendly staff and the outstanding housing contributed to a truly magical visit.

the staff was unmatched, they became friends not staff.
would have loved the bedrooms to be enclosed. sleeping in the open is challenging.

This is not just a room or a resort—it’s a property and a journey. They paid attention to every detail.

everything was great about this hotel, stuff, customer service, food and what I like the most was to be surrounded by nature and jungles. Breakfast in the swing above the river was amazing. Highly recommend

I've been wanting to stay in the moon house for ten years and I finally did because I noticed their reopening before too many people found out that Bambu Indah was finally opened again after 3 years of pandemic. It was impossible to book the moon house before.. It's a real novelty, but then I mean this whole hotel is a novelty, if it's your thing don't need to explain it very much. Ok anyways I will talk about a few good things I found after I arrived
1. the moon house sleeping area is actually very bug-proof compared to various other bamboo houses I've stayed in. It's a whole tent, we put a bench over the curtain at night, so no bugs could get in.
2. That bed was huge and incredibly comfortable
3. The snacks were all amazing, and free, especially the crackers, I engulfed many of them before I could find out what they are
4. The bug lotion smells amazing
5. I saw a frog on my staircase, nothing scary about that really
6. Their satays are so amazing, I think if I ever come back to bail I will just get a pool pass, have some satays and do a few things I didn't manage to do because some of the facilities were not ready when I went (newly reopened)
7. Let's not forget that this hotel has its own gorge, river, ravine whatever you like to call them.. 2 of them... and many beautiful bamboo architectures aside from your own room, bridges, pods, pavilions... everything... It's the ancestor of bamboo resorts, it's the ultimate museum of bamboo architecture (alright aside from green village, another masterpiece by the Hardys, yes I am a hopeless fan), it's the original bamboo hotel before Ibuku and the rest came along if you are into that... This is the place to be.
8. Quite a number of pools here were deep and safe for jumping, but don't jump onto the parts with rocks..
9. I don't think any hotel in Bali gives you as much intimacy with the rice terrace to the extent that the pools here give you.
To be fair, the things I didn't like were pretty obvious before I even went so just think about these things before you come
1. as cool as the spring-fed pools are, they are dark mud-colored and sometimes I feel like there could be bugs hiding somewhere and it just scares me a bit... If swimming without worries is a thing for you, this place may not work for you, but I did not come here for that... so it wasn't actually that big of an issue for me
2. the swing ropes were gone when I went, understandable... newly reopened.. I hope they come back
3. the river pod was not ready when I went... for the same reasons above.. and I really wish that comes back too
Honestly, despite how nervous I get sometimes due to the amount of plants and the possibility of encountering bugs, I actually want to come back here... It's that special. It's not meant to be the totally comfortable easy vacation spot... If you love it you will come here no matter how many warnings you hear about how wild and seriously open-air it is... I heard many many warnings about this place over the 10 years of dreaming about it but I came anyways... I am really glad I did.

the location was amazing, never seen anything like it before. the staff were all so lovely and went absolutely above and beyond to make us feel welcome. the food was incredible and all organically grown.
I have nothing bad to say about this property it was all amazing, however just be aware there are lots of stairs and a fair amount of walking involved to get to your rooms from the reception/restaurant.

Breathtaking view. Friendly helpful staff. Incredible architecture. Unforgettable experience. Even on days where the weather was horrible, it was really lovely lounging around the accom watching the rain.
Only negative thing to say is despite having mosquito nets on the beds and a turn down service where the staff come around and make sure the nets are closed each afternoon, a lot of bugs still got in each night (not the bitey kind, just small flying ones). The experience was still a 10 out of 10 for us, as you should really not be precious about this kind of thing when you book an accom in the jungle without walls. But perhaps they'll consider adding zips in the fututre instead of just overlapping fabric that blows around in the wind.

We loved that Bambu Indah offers something truly unique, a tranquil spot in the heart of the jungle. We loved that we could take a moment to relax and focus on our personal wellness for a couple of days. Everything from the facilities on offer, to the personalised itineries upon arrival and the thoughtful gifts such as our giftbag and complimentary 15min massage really made Bambu Indah a highlight of our time in Bali.
My only criticism would be that our mosquito net had a few holes in it and we did suffer quite badly from the mosquito bites. However, this by no means cast a shadow on the fantastic time we had at this special place.

Very unique experience that I will never forget. I was shocked how clean was our moon house. Staff is very friendly and helpful.
Try to avoid the afternoon in the property as it is extremely hot. I would recommend checking in around 4 pm.
