Lovely view over the harbour. Comfortable room
Dinner options.

Friendly staff, comfy bed
No proper teabags for the missus, just herbal or fruity
4.1
Beautifully appointed hotel, better than I expected.
Pizza was good, will recommend to anyone.
Nothing

unfortunately the food did not live up to the location and the overall standard of the hotel. Double room 11, large bath and shower, great staff, very poor food.

Room was excellent
No designated guests bar or sitting room

We received the most wonderfully warm welcome from Caroline, a bubbly and engaging lady.
Our room was large, double aspect with a sizeable bathroom and separate shower. The bed was comfortable (for some reason the duvet was very lumpy), decorated nicely and had everything we needed.
We ate in the restaurant on the first evening - a big mistake. The food was really poor and I would steer clear. We
were misadvised about the wine (but the waitress did replace this free of charge). After this awful experience at dinner, we decided to not even have breakfast here on the following two mornings. The restaurant really lets the hotel down.
4.1
Central location, and friendly service. The pub is very pleasant. Rooms are spacious and well-appointed.
Breakfast was better in the past. On this occasion it was disappointing.
4.1
The accommodation, staff and food were all excellent.
We liked everything!

Jo on reception was kind enough to call to check on our journey and planned route due to the weather conditions and advise us of road closures on one route we were thinking about. consequently, we took the Gourock-Dunoon and Portavadie-Tarbert route and avoided most of the snow.
The room was very comfortable, the staff kind and thoughtful and we enjoyed the food.

Everything from check in to stay, room and check out went well.
Nothing.

rooms were superb
breakfast self service. would have preferred waitress service
4.1
brilliant location and the staff were friendly and helpful
the hot breakfast buffet was very poor although I believe they were just trying this out

Room was a bit traditional but nice. The bed was really comfortable the view was fab.
Picture light above bed was faulty as were the tv controls. And the showe door did not seal properly so the bathroom floor matt was sodding after showering. Small things but not really acceptable when you pay so much for the room.

the view
the pillows on bed.

History and location
Expensive for what it is
4.1
Ate out as felt hotel was overpriced and so was the breakfast
Very over priced
Restaurant disappointing with poor choice of food on offer
4.1
TOP location, hotel staff very friendly and accommodating, deluxe room spacious and clean, bathroom a bit dated.
Breakfast was ok, but nothing to write home about. Breakfast staff also a bit lacklustre and slow.
4.1
Reception staff were friendly, efficient and helpful in getting luggage to room in light of elevator failure
Location was good
We used the bar facilities on one night and staff were excellent
The elevator not working
Room somewhat tired in decor
Issues with cleanliness/maintenance
Tea tray limited, and lacking on third day
Basically not to the standard we expected from the high price of the room which did not include breakfast
4.1
Great location. Lovely big clean room.
At £175 a night I would have expected breakfast to be included.

the reception was warm and welcoming, our room was repaired for our arrival and was spacious and the decor warm with Sat-TV available ( free).
The hotel bar and restaurant were well staffed and attentive and the food was tasty and fairly priced. breakfast was delicious. This was an excellent stay and I would come back.

location
Restaurant menu was like a greasy spoon cafe. Nothing like the description on web site - an absolute con. We had no other eating option as nearby restaurant (no. 42) was full.
Room was too hot and window would not stay open and had to wedge something to hold it
4.1
Location, Room,Cleanliness, Shower, dinner. All excellent. How a hotel should be.
Paying extra for breakfast on what is already a pretty high rate.
4.1
Lovely building with a great history. Food was good and staff very friendly
Nothing of note
4.1
Very comfortable bed and good breakfast
Night Porter check in did not work effectively as he could not find our reservation.
4.1
Our room on the third floor had the most amazing view of the marina .
The room was clean, spacious and the en-suite large with a very good shower. The bed was very comfortable ensuring a good nights sleep.
Able to park outside beside the marina.
Went out for breakfast as it wasn’t included in the deal. If you only eat a light breakfast £12.00 per person is just not worth the price.
