A nice home away from home

We didn't have the chance to meet Danilo and Orietta who were away, but Erika, hosting on their behalf, was great! She had some food and snacks ready, drinks and water in the fridge for us, there was a cooler we could take to the beach (we should have used it more than once) and a few other things one might need. Erika and Jerome were very accommodating, gave us a lot of suggestions for beaches and restaurants (not all are open during off-season). We didn't take advantage of the well equipped kitchen, we cooked eggs just once when we were lazy to go out, but for those who want to cook, everything is there. The whole place was tidy and clean. We were alone at the property, since this was the off season, but we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Next time I visit Antigua, that would be the first place to look for availability. Thank you Erika and Jerome!

Would go back in a blink!

Lovely place, well equipped with fantastic view of Falmouth Harbour. Has a large balcony, plenty of room for 2 couples

Probably just a bit off the beaten track. I’m very in my 60’s and it took around 25 mins to walk to English Harbour, where we would have coffee before another 10 mins onto Pigeon Point beech. So maybe rent a car.

A great property with just a few snags keeping it from being excellent

The property was spacious with great facilities. Simona, the on-hand contact person was great.

Locking the external gate before and after trips out was a pain because the gate had to be in a precise position to lock. Also, the electricity panel kept tripping and it would have been great if the living room was also air conditioned.

Lovely location, great hosts.

Great location with a lovely view. Near a lot of restaurants and English harbour. Much more local flavour than when we visited the all-inclusive beach resorts. Our hosts were very welcoming and nothing was too much whenever we had any questions. Very friendly guest house.

Danilo and Orieta were exceptional hosts. The location is quiet with beautiful garden and a lovel view; there is everything you need. Sun on the large terrace in the afternoon until sunset.

We loved everything about our stay at Donkey on the Beach! Our hosts, Dany & Ori were just lovely. We so appreciated arriving after a long day of travelling to find the fridge stocked with cold drinks, water, coffee & eggs. They also drove us into town our first night and showed us all the wonderful places to eat, the beaches and where to buy groceries. Later in the week when my husband accidently bought coffee beans instead of ground coffee they graciously gave us a package from their own supply. The accommodation itself was spotless, the beds were comfortable and the view of the harbour from the terrace was just beautiful! We would definitely stay here again!

Exceptional

We liked everything about the property! The apartment has everything and the view is amazing. it looks better in real life than on the pictures! The hosts thought about every little detail so that guests would not have to worry about the dish soap or garbage bags. We had a rough start to our vacation as WestJet did not deliver our bags (on a direct flight!) and we were a few hours late, but the owners were waiting for us. As it was Sunday night and a lot of restaurants were already closed, we really appreciated to find snacks and beer in the fridge and some food and coffee to make breakfast the next morning. In the morning Orietta brought me some of her clothes that was a good fit and allowed me to last a couple of days until we got the luggage. We are extremely grateful for their hospitality and support - thank you so very much, guys!

perfect and we would definitely go back to Donkey when we visit Antigua again.

the property was lovely. the owners thought of everything and the attention to detail was superb. the apartment was so clean and thoughtfully decorated. no matter what we needed, we didn’t need to ask, as we knew they would have thought of it!! it was so comfortable with a lovely relaxing outdoor veranda space with amazing views over English Harbour. the owners gave us a starter pack so we didn’t have to go to the supermarket, and these were the small details that made this vacation so amazing.

there was nothing I didn’t like about this property… but on a lazy day it was a good walk to the beach… but a worthwhile walk with 2 lovely beaches to pick from. the buses run regular and are cheap, or there are taxis. getting around is easy. oh gang on I’m saying what I like not what I didn’t like 🤣

Truly amazing. Great hosts, accommodation and location.

The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire stay. They greeted us upon arrival to tour us through our room and even took us for a drive to show us around English Harbour. We were also surprised to find our fridge stocked with some food, snacks and beers. This was very much appreciated after arriving late in the evening after a long day of travel. Throughout the stay they gave us a number to contact them at any time in case we needed anything. On the last night they invited us to their place for a delicious home-cooked Italian pizza with wine and dessert. Bonus is that this is truly the best pizza on the island! Overall the hosts were just incredible and a pleasure to have met. I’m glad to have stayed here and if we go back to Antigua I will stay here again. The accommodation itself was also perfect. It wasn't directly downtown English Harbour so it was quiet at night but only a short walking distance to the main town. We woke up every morning to a beautiful view of the harbour and all the anchored boats. The place was equipped with a nice bathroom and a full kitchen with everything needed to cook ourselves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Overall 10/10 stay!

Actually walking distance to Falmouth/English harbour, but probably not recommendable in night along the road. I had a rental car, which helped me out.

Thanks to Dany and Ori for a lovely stay on a very beautiful island.

The property has a beautiful view over Falmouth Harbour and is within easy walk of English Harbour and Pigeon Point Beach. Dany and Ori are the most welcoming hosts we have ever stayed with. They were always available if we needed recommendations, greeted us with welcome provisions and gave us a tour around the local area to get us acclimatised. They helped make our stay in this beautiful island a real pleasure.

Easy access to groceries, restaurants, and a great place to start day trips around Antigua. The apt was well stocked when we arrived and Dani and Ori were extremely attentive. Don't miss the Jerk Chicken at Shirley Heights if you go. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

The 2-bed apartment is extremely comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped. Each bedroom has a large en-suite, air-con and a fan. The apartment is located in Cobbs Cross, very close to Falmouth and English Harbour. It’s a perfect spot to explore the island (you need a rental car!). The hosts are welcoming and available to answer questions and give tips on the best restaurants and beaches on the island. Thank you!

We loved our stay at Donkey on the Beach. The set is beautiful with amazing views over Falmouth Harbour. The apartment is super clean and has all the self-catering facilities required to enjoy a lovely stay in Antigua. Danilo and Orietta were amazing hosts, always available when needed. They kindly provided essential snacks and drinks for the first few days. Renting a car is convenient even though a 15min walk will take you to English harbour, shops and nearby restaurants. We recommend this beautiful villa for anyone visiting Antigua.

Truly a wonderful experience, which will be repeated.

The property was as described, and looked even better on arrival. Danilo and Orietta were wonderful hosts throughout our stay, the presentation of apartments was very thoughtfully put together. We had a fantastic time in Antigua which was truly enhanced by our stay at " Donkey On The Beach" and by our ever attentive hosts.

Staying at Donkey on the Beach made this holiday very special

Simona was the host during our stay, She is a very good communicator, always friendly & helpful and quick to respond with our queries. The villa is awesome, in a quiet location, breath taking views of Falmouth Harbour from the 2 bedroom villa. The veranda is like a garden, huge space with table and chairs, hammock & 4 poster sun bed. The rooms are spacious too, with relaxing, well thought out decor. The grounds are well kept. Freemans Bay/Galleons Beach Club & Pigeon Point are the nearest beaches.
