The family that runs this place is super welcoming, friendly snd helpful- always around to assist . I requested an extra blanket they delivered pronto. Cafe bar in the front - excellent location and lots of nice restaurants around. Lovely rooftop terrace.
Rooms and blankets a little dated .

Fabulous rooftop restaurant with great view, food and service. Great location, with view of river (tomebamba) and view over city from rooftop. Good support from employees. Best hamburger we had in town and we've been here 3 weeks.
Dribble of hot water in shower. Stairs can be challenging.

The location was great! Close to many restaurants and plazas for walking. I didn't do any tourist activities, so I cannot comment on distance. I worked remotely and the wifi was strong, reliable and worked really well. The room was nice! I was upgraded to a room with a balcony that overlooked the river! The water was hot, which is nice especially since it was cold outside. The hotel staff were friendly. I ate at the restaurant onsite a few times and it was delicious. I even had lunch on the rooftop a couple of times, which was nice! Cleaning service was available daily (except the last couple of days), which I loved. I asked for assistance with getting to the airport the next morning and the staff were so kind. They offered to schedule a taxi and prepare a breakfast to go for me at no additional charge!
Breakfast was okay. I don't eat eggs, which isn't a big deal because there's usually enough fruit, bread, etc for me to munch on. If you eat eggs, ignore this post. If you don't eat eggs, then there isn't much else. The fruit portion was small (maybe 1/4 of a cup) and the rolls were kinda hard. After trying breakfast a couple of days here, I decided to skip it and buy breakfast. I was fine with doing this as I worked in the mornings and needed to focus :)!

Rather than write out pages about how great Diego and his family are (they are!), I'll write out some of the highlights:
- The view of the river from our room was absolutely perfect. Our room (109) looked directly down to the river with an incredible view up with Mirador de Turi.
- The bed was very comfortable and the roaring sound of the Tomebamba put me to sleep very quickly each night.
- The breakfast every morning was the best we had in Ecuador. The coffee was hot and fresh, there was fresh-squeezed juice, and the eggs... I don't know their secret but I've never had cooked this perfectly. And sitting out on the terrace with another million-dollar view made the breakfast even more special.
-The family. I can't say enough about the family. Diego, Daniel, and their mother (sorry I didn't catch her name) were all so kind and welcoming. They made great suggestions of things to do around the city and made sure our visit was special. The care a great deal about Cuenca and a great deal about their guests.
They're constantly improving the property and this will be my go-to any time I travel to Cuenca (I already want to go back)
