Charming inn at a good value

Loved the charming, hostel vibe. Rooms are large and beds very comfortable. Onsite parking is good. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The gave great advice on what to do in Monteverde and helped make reservations. Hotel is basic, but comfortable and great for families. Several rooms accommodate five people. No A/C, but not needed as it gets very cool at night. The location is close to city center and walkable to several restaurants and shops, but it’s also not on a main road so stays fairly quiet. We felt very safe here. Breakfast is included, and the only meal the hotel serves. Fruit, eggs, toast/pancakes/rice and beans are the options, along with coffee and juice. Rooms have kitchenettes with a microwave and fridge.

Tile flooring on the balcony can be slippery!

Good deal, great stay!

We stayed in room #3, which had three beds. It was spacious, clean, and cozy, with a nice mural (pictured on website) that added to the ambiance. The refrigerator was larger than expected, and the microwave came in handy. The breakfast was tasty and very filling, consisting of a fresh fruit assortment and a variety of made-to-order breakfast plates, including mini-pancakes, or traditional gallo pinto. The service was great! Everyone was very friendly and helpful! This property was much cheaper than many others in the area so we would definitely stay again!!!

We experienced no issues during our 1 night stay.

I would stay at this location again.

Stayed two nights (3 adults) and found it to be reasonably priced. The room was clean and spacious. The property looked well maintained. There's free parking on site. The property is quiet at night. The hotel desk staff were friendly and helpful. They showed us the activities available and prices. Once we selected the activities, they went ahead and booked the activities with third party vendors. They were accommodating with requests made. The free wifi had excellent connectivity (except during brief moments when it was raining heavily). The breakfast was delicious. They had for breakfast American style (eggs and pancakes) and the traditional Costa Rican (pinto, eggs, and plantains) along with fresh fruit.

I didn't see any fans or AC in the room. However, it was not an issue for our party since the weather was cool during our stay and we kept the windows open. The beds had plenty of warm blankets for cold nights.

Very good

Staff extremely nice and friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing. The rooms were clean and parking space was good. It is in a quiet area of town which is nice. The outdor area was lovely

washroom a bit dated. room was very hot and no airconditioning available. if you open door for airflow bugs get in so pick your poison.

Wonderful place and stay in Monteverde!

Warm and welcoming, friendly staff. Cozy villa close to town. Hot showers and clean rooms. The lady working the front spoke great English and helped us book our activities. Answered all of our questions. Breakfast was hot and delicious.

Great home base for exploring the Monteverde area.

Quiet and peaceful yet close to everything we needed. Three beds! Ideal for our family of Mom son and daughter. They gave us a nice little cabin that was available. Breakfast got us going in the morning. They were able to secure a night tour for us the day we arrived. Very kind staff. Really excellent all around. We would absolutely stay here again.

Maybe a few more items for the little kitchenette for preparing food. We didn’t expect to have the cabin and it was totally fine for us, but maybe a hotpot for boiling water would be a nice addition.

Exceptional

Breakfast was fantastic. The best we have had in Costa Rica. Location was perfect. Rooms were spotless, huge and cleaned daily. Staff were amazing and couldn’t have been more welcoming. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Monteverde.

Relaxed place to stay

the property was clean and comfortable. Fairly easy to walk into the town center. Even though there was no AC, it was not needed. Our room had great airflow from the large windows. As a dog lover, I especially loved Bobby the Black Lab! he wandered the property and was always happy to come by for a visit.

The hot water in the room could have been better, but really I was not that bothered by it.

Great place, nice people, tasty breakfast!

Overall a good value. This modestly priced hotel was walking distance from downtown (10-15 min walk). Our room was large and nicely appointed with a tv, fridge, and microwave. The staff was friendly. Breakfast was great.

The room was a tad dated and a bit dimly lit, but for a clean, safe place to stay, it was great. We missed the amenities of nicer hotels like pools and hot tubs, but this was really just a layover between other hotels for us...and it worked perfectly for that.

A great place to stay at a great price!

The place was beautiful, clean and peaceful. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She was able to book us on a guided trip of Monteverde Cloud Forest the next day. We would definitely recommend it!

The room was excellent with really nice beds.. whe got an upgrade of the room so that was really kind. The staff is friendly and helpfull. On the last day we had to leave before breakfast by bus, they serve us an breakfast on the go 😀.. location is just a 5 min walk to the center or you can take a taxi

Lovely hotel with extremely spacious rooms. Very helpful staff who organised a tour for us. Tasty breakfast. Nice seating area outside.

not about accomadition. So cloudy when travelling at night by car you must be careful. monteverde is 3 hour driving from airport and last one hour is only ups and downs

Superb

Location was great! Easy car access and short walkable distance to the center of town. The room was way better than what the pictures showed. Breakfast was very tasty! . The owners were always available, very pleasant and truly committed to provide the best experience possible to their customers. There was parking on site. They also have an outdoor lounging area with a nice firepit which was very enjoyable to hang around during the night after a long day hiking.

Excellent little hotel near downtown Monteverde. The room was super clean and the beds were really comfortable. WIFI connection was also really good. I liked the complementary breakfast as well.

There are a lot of accomodations in Monteverde but this one is really cozy...

the family is so friendly and although we arrived really late in the evening they were waiting for us...so did bobbi the cute dog...the room was very spacious and the beds perfect. Breakfast in the morning was great and a perfect start for the day.

Superb

The staff was really lovely and helpful, room was really big, bed was super comfy. It's really peaceful at the lodge as it's a little bit out of the main town even though its only a 5 min walk to the main bit. So if you wanna be super close to town but you prefer it a bit more quiet, that's the perfect place to stay. I really liked the art work on the walls. The room where you eat breakfast is really nice and the breakfast itself is nice as well. There is a gym right next to the hotel, which is definitely a bonus for me and a really good and cheap soda.I would definitely come back here.

The only little complain I have got is the shower. At first the water is pretty hot but a minute later it's almost too cold, which I didn't really mind this time because it was pretty warm outside.

Find someplace else to stay.

The staff was very nice.

Do not stay here. The things they cannot control: the incessant dog barking and motorcycles revving up and down at all hours of the day. The room was so dark, the beds were like cement benches, the bathroom was tiny, and the location is terrible.
