the cleanliness, location, and staff were exceptional. i thoroughly enjoyed the in-house Onsen public bath, the products given to keep the area and ourselves clean were brilliant. There was even a washing machine to wash our clothes after a long and sweaty day around the city! the air-conditioning in the rooms kept us cool and we slept brilliantly. not only am i going to recommend this place to everyone, but i will be returning on my next trip to kyoto!
nothing at all if i'm honest. As stated, the place exceeded my expectations and will be so happy to return. value for money was brilliant and i look forward to coming back!

It was clean.
I didn’t realize it was shared bath and bathrooms

Hotel has a very great facilities like relaxing common room and smoking area. Although shared bathroom, the public bath is very immaculate and cozy. Adding up with comfortable and reasonably spacious bedroom for Japanese hotel, this experience exceeded my overall expectation.
Unstable wifi connection

The hotel is in a quiet location, near the train station. The room was very small - no space for large luggage. The toilet was on the same floor but the shower was only on the ground floor, but not a big deal. The shower was very clean and very well equipped. I like the free drip coffee at the reception.

There were free laundry facilities, although they can get busy and the dryer takes a while. A comfortable lounging/bar area to relax in, with complimentary tea and coffee available. The onsen public baths were always clean and were never too busy.
Not much space in the double rooms to put away luggage, had to go under the bed, and very limited surface space to place out items if more than one person staying.

Great spot to stay! Rooms were spotless and bathrooms were spotless! I appreciated having a sink in the room. The lobby area had a good atmosphere to hang out it along with kitchen amenities and free coffee.
Beds were on the firmer side, and walls were thin but not a deal breaker

The shared spaces were clean and well stocked. The price was great for visiting the area and was easily accessible to some railways. Not far from Kyoto station and ideal location to stay nearby and interact with other tourists or local residents on a weekend vacation. The bath is public and separated by gender and the females' section requires a passcode only given to the female residents.
The room was small and didn't have the best circulation of air if the window was closed. The restrooms are all public on each floor, so you had to always remember your card key and have it on you. I forgot my card one night when i really had to use the restroom and luckily had my phone on me to call my roommate and open the door from the inside.

the public bath was appreciated. comfortable common areas. never an issue to enter even late into the night.
no toilet in the room or at least on the same floor, only one male toilet in the public bath.

I liked how cozy and big the beds are here. There is a staff member that speaks. English who is very helpful. The public bath is very nice.
All in all, it is a nice Hotel and I've stayed here before. I did have a hiccup when it came to my discounted price, but I think it was more of a problem with the site I was using to book. This hotel is very nice if you can get it at a cheap price. The prices go up and down depending on holidays, etc. Book this hotel when its low, say under $50, once it gets close to $100 your better off finding a different hotel.

The staff were very helpful, the public bath beautiful and the downstairs facilities lovely. The free laundry facilities were so handy also.
The hotel is in a really good location on a quiet street but still close to Kyoto station.
Again...The public bath is lovely, clean and has everything you may have forgotten as a travelling gal!

I loved the cozy space I had, and the public bath, it had a similar style to an onsen and was very warm and relaxing. The location is great being close to the station. The staff was helpful, there is a staff member who does speak English if your Japanese skills are not strong. The price is very cheap as well, I plan on taking up this hotel again for more short trips in Kyoto.

We liked the public bathroom!
We arrived at the hotel on June 27 at 6 am. The lady from the reception was not very friendly, said that we should leave and return by 3 pm for check-in. Of course we planed to go for a walk, we just wanted to sit in the lobby for a bit to relax from the road, but she wrote on the phone in the translator in japanese that we should leave. It was rude of her.

This place really exceeded our expectations. It felt luxurious for a quite small price. All the common areas were lush, every detail accounted for.
The staff was quite nice too.
The coffee and tea stations were great (you can grind your own coffee from different beans).
The bath was also very nice, Japanese public bath style.
The breakfast wasn't very good, and they ran out of items quite quickly.

Cleanliness, it looks new, free laundry services.
It was expensive for a really small room with shared facilities.

Free laundry was amazing. Room was bigger than expected. Staff was nice and checkin/check out were easy and fast. If I am in Kyoto again I'll come by for a second stay.
