Beautiful relaxed place with very friendly staff directly at the beach! Loved it

Beautiful room, good working ac, great moscito net, breakfast was delicious, only a tiny walk through the property to get to the beach, private beach chairs.
The hotel manager seemed to be a little judgy as we were two girls sharing a bed but since she never said anything I’m only suspecting that she didn’t like that.

This place is amazing, you will be stunned by the beauty of the hotel and the beach. The food is great for a fair price, the staff is professional and friendly
The wifi connexion was could have been better

Beautiful villa, room is equipped with everything we need. Breakfast is good, staffs are friendly. The best thing is probably the work they are doing with building the school to provide free education for kids in the village.

Nothing
The worst experience we ever had and we aren't beginners in renting accomodations.
To sum up the different problems :
- the room wasn't prepared properly, we asked for a double bed and saw 2 single separate beds, when we asked Bachir (the so called manager) he said it was too late and offered to bring closer the beds and put half of a bed sheet that didn't look clean to make up for the mistake. He then offered to see what could be done the next day.
- the bathroom smelled horrible and was clearly under the standards of a b&b, we took a shower and had no hot water, when we woke up in the night there were lots of flies outside the window that looked like a metallic net without any isolation
- the dogs were barking non stop in the neighbor's property
I went back to tell Bachir but he offered to wait until the next day.
The next day we saw him and complained about these problems, he told we had to switch on the hot water and wait for 15-20 minutes until it's ready, we would've loved to be informed before.
We told him we were planning on leaving for it was impossible to stay in such conditions.
When we booked we were aware there was no possible cancel the booking as we had already paid, but in such circumstances we hoped the host would be understanding so we asked for a partial refund since we just stayed one night but they refused.
We hoped that such people who work for a fondation would have more empathy but we didn't receive any payback even though they could put the room on rent since we did the check-out.
So we had to book somewhere else which created crazy expenses but we had no other choice as we didn't want to spoil the rest of our trip. We definitely don't recommend this place and still wait for a payback as the description doesn't match the reality we unfortunately had to experience.

The room was clean and cosy. The swimming pool was clean. Close to the beach.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. All the facilities and resources we needed were there. Food was the best we had in Matemwe. A bonus was knowing that our stay contributed to the Tamani Foundation school.
WiFi range could be improved so that there’s better signal in the rooms

Amazing accomodation, really good food and and breakfast, helpful staff and many tours available. However the best is the school foundation, every money you spend there will go automatically to the children in Sansibar and their education. Great concept!! Definitely recommended.

Everything was amazing we really enjoyed our stay at Tamani villas and we’ll definitely recommend the place to friends and family

Tamani villas is a quiet place, not to much rooms. Friendly stuff and helpful manager (tours, taxi.. Fair prices) . For the breakfast you got
everything you need. Tea and coffee is included for the whole day. You have a private entry to the beach and nice beach chairs to relax. There are a lot of restaurants around but also the restaurant in the hotel is very good. We enjoyed our stay and would go there again.
Maybe additional drawers or storage place also in the bathroom

I really like the fact that the hotel is investing in the school system and providing education with the money from the guests. It's a nice project and I'm happy to have contributed to it.
The rooms are generally nice although the beds could be improved and also the bathrooms.
It's quite quiet and the place has a direct access to the beach. Although we didn't use it the pool is also quite nice and the owner seems to have a good sense of humour. Great and funny sentences everywhere :)
I think if the amenaties and the beds could be improved and renewed and some more variety for the breakfast it would be a perfect stay!
We were first placed in a twin room where the beds were placed together although we requested a double room and it was only another guest there. There were free double rooms on the same floor so we didn't understand why we received a 'fake' double room. Apart from that the bed sheets were not fit so you could see the mattresses. After requesting to change the next day since I saw many rooms with proper double beds we got moved to a different room. Although only downstairs and I saw many empty rooms upstairs so not sure what was the problem. But finally the second night we slept much better.
Also we had a mosquito but also bed bugs problems. We were bitten the whole night when staying in the twin room. The second night we slept much much better after putting extra mosquito spray on the bed.
The bathroom is very basic and there is almost no space to put your toiletries. The shower is also not amazing.
The breakfast was super basic, nothing special and also the food was overpriced for what it was. Better to eat outside.

Everything was great :) the hotel is really nice, located just by the beach. It's a perfect place for a retreat, if you want to spend a few days away from crowded places like Paje. Our room was clean and nicely furnished. The hotel supports the Tamani Foundation, which funds a local school. What we liked the most was the hospitality of the staff. We definitely recommend this place!
Everything was perfect :)

My boyfriend and I liked everything what Tamani Villas offered. Very worth to stay. As a bonus we got a fresh juice as welcoming drink on our arrival which was very nice welcoming from the beginning. They explained everything in deail and spent some time with us. The staff was very very very nice. They have very nice and very clean swimming pool, the green and beatutiful enviroment of hotel is simply amazing. The room was in a perfect size. We also loved the quotation everywhere around hotel. It was very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The wifi works very well. We really loved our stay in this hotel. They offered very nice dolphin trip to Mnemba Atoll which we really recommend. And the last thing - we would like to send a huge THANKS to the manager of Tamani Villas. She was so helpful and kind that we even could't believe it. We also liked the fact that the hotel is part of Tamani foundation so they support the education.
There is nothing that we did not like. Everything was very nice that we even extended our stay. The only thing is that the beach is not suitable for swimming as it the deep is shallow. But you can get very easy to Mnemba Atoll to snorkel with fish or dolphins! or other tours the hotel offers.

The place has a peaceful atmosphere which may have to do with the relationship with the foundation. Staff and guests are educated and there are no noise disturbances. Had a nice massage in my room.
Observances: Mosquito net not around bed but dividing room in two parts. To be safe that mosquitos dont enter very small holes at the window front you might use repellent even while sleeping. Aircon is also included.
When contracting snorkeling tour through the hotel - which was very spontaneous and fast, thanks! - it might be good to inform the customer that there are (probably?) no intact corals in this area. At least in the area I have been. Visibility was not so good, lots of fishes, although not too much different species. Too much boats with too much tourists. 2 Dolphins spotted and lots of boats chasing them. This is not sustainable tourism.
I just stayed a night. I could imagine that after 2 or max. 3 nights it becomes boring.
The breakfeast is really too basic for this price class. I suggest to put a bit salt and pepper in the omelette as a start, and a very simple müsli consisting of milk and cereals.
