You get what you pay for ... it's an old pub that's in the very early stages of being re-furbished ... the room with shower / toilet was a bit cramped but still functional, the bed comfortable, linen and towels clean and fresh, no TV channels (but I didn't ask if there were any) and no breakfast (but there's a Wetherspoons 5 minute walk away) ... the bar staff were friendly - I didn't try the restaurant but it looked reasonable ... basically for the price, you can't expect the Ritz, but for somewhere to crash overnight with an early start the next morning it's worth considering
Perhaps some TV channels

The premises is in a period of major change. The owners did everything they could to help. Basics ok, clean towels, sachets of shower gel, tea and coffee etc.
Standard room has a shared bathroom, not obvious. Two single beds in the room both rather springy - bits that poke you and grunch noises. Carpet pretty sticky in places. Restaurant is closed for refurbishment and to be converted to an Indian restaurant.

The location was good close to town was welcomed by Keith the landlord witty and polite. Room was OK had comfy night's sleep and was you can expect for an old pub. Very quiet thought being a Friday evening might been more noisy .lovely coffee in the bar
Shame it was having work done as no food was available but went to a cafe in town had a lovely breakfast room needed bit more milk tea bags in other than that it was all OK .had a lovely hot shower but you have too run hot tap first no problem in that .

It was a fag better experience than back in 2015 but then it needed to be. Some investment has been addressed this time hot water where last time is was sadly an issue. Clearly issue have been addressed.
A breakfast would have been nice but due to covid that isnt now possible just the way it is.
