About this apartment rental
This large bright apartment is on the 3rd floor of an old building, but fortunately there is an elevator! The apartment has been recently renovated, added new furniture and furnishings. There are big windows overlooking Florence's roofs, so there is a lot of natural light.
My mother is a great interior designer, I know everything That was done here Has Been designed by her. We did not change much of the structure of the house. We only divided the space inside in order to make the rooms comfortable blackberries.
She DECIDED to use a lot of vintage furniture. So we went all over Italy looking for armchairs, tables, lamps, bedside lamps, wardrobes etc. Then there are armchairs, sofas, cupboards and tables from the 50's and the 60's that we bought and restored.
I think her majors ability was keeping a really good balance between the look of the contemporary architecture and furniture, the antiques and the refined touch of the warm and historic building.
Ceilings are high and there are wooden floors Throughout the house. The kitchen is a dishwasher and a large fridge.
One of the three bedrooms has an attached private bathroom and a large double bed. This is the quietest room in the house Because there are no roads under its double-glazed windows. During the night Seems to be away from the city!
The other two bedrooms are spacious and have high ceilings Also too. One of this has a loft made During the last renovation in order to take full advantage of the large space. In this bedroom there is a double bed, and the sofa bed can be opened if the guests are blackberries than six.
Obviously We provide clean sheets and towels for all the guests. I collect them every week in a laundry room. Hygiene is our first mission!
Unfortunately, I have to use a sentence Which is really overused by all the hoteliers but ... all of my guests, When They sign our guest book write That it is really like being home away from home.
The place is very elegant and beautiful, but very welcoming and homey at the same time.
I know that's the essence; it's very elegant but very informal. Everybody feels like at home, so they can pretend it's their house, going to the living room, preparing coffee, watching TV.
The house is located in a strategic position in the heart of Florence, few steps far from Piazza Santo Spirito, Pitti Palace, Ponte Vecchio and the Boboli Garden, in a limited traffic area and the Generally sheltered from the noise of the city.

The owner greeted us when we arrived to show us everything around the house. The house was clean and spacious. The house is about a 10-15 minute walk to the Duomo/town center. The neighborhood is lovely with everything you need right outside the door. We loved our stay in Florence!

If you don’t mind sleeping with fans and people yelling on the street and within the ZTL area, then this may be acceptable

Beautiful layout and wonderful breeze, very comfortable space for two parents and five kids. Host was extremely helpful with all of the logistics, including helping me identify a nearby garage and working through the matter of the ZTL.
Oltrarno is iso much more lively at night than the last time I was there (many years ago). We had plenty of choices for dining, drinks, and gelato just steps from the apartment (and the kitchen is very spacious and efficient if you are eating in).

Overall was an excellent visit. Great location but a little loud in the evenings. Spacious and comfortable. Our host Bernardo was the best. Excellent communication!!

It was our favorite place during our stay in Italy. Our group loves older buildings with ceilings. This fit the bill.
The location is fantastic. Lots of attractions and restaurants within walking distance along with close access to public transportation. There’s a pizza place one door over that’s rated in the top 10 of the city. It’s very good.
The elevator is interesting. The doors open inward so it’s a challenge to fit people and luggage in the small space. We could get 3 people in without luggage if we played “elevator Tetris”.
Bernardo is an excellent host. We had a few minor issues that were resolved immediately.
Two drawbacks beyond host control. The street facing rooms got a lot of noise from the bar across the street. The rooms’ occupant joked that he recognized the voice of the same woman throughout our stay. The other issue was mosquitoes. The person staying in the loft had the worst of it.
Drawbacks aside, we highly recommend this apartment and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Bernardo is a wonderful, attentive host and the apartment is stylish, comfortable, well-located and accommodating of a group. We stayed as an extended family of seven. The neighborhood is a bit out of the busy tourist areas of center city but close enough to walk there. Excellent gelato is right across the street! I highly recommend this apartment.

We loved staying south of the river and away from the crowds a bit during our stay. The top floor had lots of light and there was plenty of space to spread out. The check in and check out process was so smooth and communication before and during our stay was a breeze. Also the shower had excellent hot water!
The beds were a bit old and uncomfortable and there were not enough linens for all the beds. Some details in the space were thoughtfully designed while others could definitely be improved. The furniture especially has kind of a worn and untidy feeling. At night you can hear lots of noise from the street and nearby plaza in the two front facing bedrooms.
Overall good place to stay for a family or group of friends who value location and value over an abundance of creature comforts.

We loved this apartment. Bernardo was also excellent to work with! The perfect set up for two couples and two teenagers. The only problem is we had to leave. We loved how the location had so many amazing restaurants with in a very short walk.

This is a great apartment with a great location in Florence. Communication with the host was excellent - all of my questions were answered quickly and completely. He met me at the apartment with the keys, and was a lovely host. The apartment was exactly as listed - large and very clean. It was a great place for my family of five.

Good with Issues - Our group of six (two couples, two singles) had a decent stay in Florence during Christmas/NewYear 2023/24. The apartment was adequate. Here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
Spacious unit including two decent size bedrooms and one smaller one
The host was very responsive and flexible with check-in.
Good kitchen with enough amenities to cook with but some broken appliances
Excellent four burner electric stove
There was some left over spices and food which helped meal preparations
New dishwasher that cleans really well
The host had added a small Christmas tree and left some tourist info
The unit is on the 3rd floor and there is a small
elevator that works really well
Cons:
The apartment was advertised as a four bedroom but only has three bedrooms - one bedroom has a small pullout couch which blocks the door to the other bed once setup.
There are no written instructions about how to use the apartment (thermostat, garbage, recycling etc) and the instructions given by the host were minimal. The thermostat for the whole apartment is located in the master bedroom and there are no instructions so we were cold for a few days until we sorted it out then could only change the temperature for short durations.
There was only one key for the apartment making coordinating a large group challenging and no lock box for the key. We did learn about a lock box on the final day as the host asked us to put the key in it when departing.
Furniture is dated and junky: dini

My wife and two young sons and I stayed in the apartment for a month- and it was a comforting and amazing experience. The apartment had everything we needed to feel truly at home, from tons of room (and rooms), to convenient appliances/adapters and a full kitchen & convenient washing machine, to fast WiFi- and the neighborhood is literally our favorite in all of Florence, an easy walk to everything and just a block from the church, markets, and cafes of lovely Santo Spirito. And as if that weren't enough, Bernardo was a thoughtful, kind, gracious host, responding to our every request with a smile. The only downside was that we had to go home at the end... Next time we get to go to Florence, we wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else.

Wonderful apartment that is easily accessi ble to the historic district. By being on the other side of the Arno, you are living in a neighborhood interacting with the lical community. Surrounded by restaurants, shops and galleries you have opportunities above the tourist offerings. Bernardo is very helpful

We had eight young adults staying here. They found it relaxed & roomy. There was a ceiling leak in one of the bathrooms.
4.7
We stayed here on our family vacation (8 adults!) and it was a great location- less touristy but within easy walking distance to everything we wanted to see and do. Bernardo was a great host- easy communication, very helpful. Fast wifi was nice. Would stay here again!

Overall we had a great time. The location was perfect, just next to a main square with plenty of good restaurants and very convenient to all major sites to see.

We had a fantastic stay in Florence. The apartment was beautiful, well equiped and in a great location. Bernardo made everything very easy from check-in to recommendations for places to eat. Thank you for a great stay.

5 of us had a wonderful time in Florence! The walk-in shower was perfect for grandma and the loft was a great escape for my 23 year old. The apartment is near a beautiful church and plaza with nearby restaurants, markets and bars. We used the lift and also the stairs. The apartment is on the 3rd floor but there are over 80 stairs to get there so the loft came in handy. The 2 main bedrooms were spacious. My 6’1” son wasn’t able to stand in the loft, but he didn’t mind.
It’s less than a 30 minute walk to the museums and shops so that was fantastic. We loved hearing the church bells in the morning and hearing the people chatting in the street in the evening. This is a great apartment in a neighborhood in Florence.

My husband and I joined my sister and her husband for their 25th wedding anniversary celebration trip to Italy. Part of our visit was in Florence and I booked this apartment for this leg of our journey. The apartment is walking distance to almost everything in Florence. It is clean and well appointed and very comfortable and roomy. The only thing missing (oddly in Italy) was a wine opener, but I suspect (unknown to the host) a prior guest liked it so well they chose to keep it as a souvenir! Luckily, we brought our own. Our host, Bernardo, was nothing short of fabulous! He was more than accommodating and helpful in every way. He helped us with transportation accommodations, restaurant recommendations, and even helped me have a beautiful bottle of wine and some treats as an anniversary surprise for my sis & her hubby, in the apartment upon their arrival. (They arrived ahead of us.) Should we ever return to Florence, we would definitely choose this apartment again.

Bernardo was helpful and responsive. The apartment was clean, in a safe area with nearby restaurants and was within a few miles walk to important sites. One of the bathrooms had a broken plug and we were unable to use hair dryer, etc. In the kitchen the microwave, coffee pot and dishwasher were plugged in to an extension chord.

We stayed in late September with very hot weather. Host cannot control weather, but needs better fans for cooling. Unit needs more wine glasses and pillows. Ceiling lights were burned out or not functioning. Chair in kitchen covered open electrical connection posing safety question. Electrical outlet in main bath pushed into wall and not easy to use. Kitchen sink faucet loose and leaky. Good location, but noisy at night. All in all, decent value.

We are just back from a lovely week with our family at Bernardo's property. The apartment is very spacious, really well equipped and comfortable. The location is great, right by the Santo Spirito square. The Santo Spirito area is really interesting, lots of nice restaurants/bars/vintage shops and has a nice relaxed feel to it, a great place to stay and excellent base to a stay in Florence. Everything of interest is close by e.g. 2 minutes to the Pritti Palace & Boboli Gardens, 5 mins to the Ponte Vecchio and a leisurely 15/20 min walk to the Duomo. Bernardo is easily contactable and very responsive before and during our stay & always helpful. We would highly recommend the apartment and certainly hope to stay again!!

BEST apartment to rent in Florence
I stayed at Bernardo's apartment in Florence, Italy last week. It housed 7 of us, my husband, 3 kids and my mother and father in law. To our delight, the apartment was so adorable, extremely clean, bright and airy and perfect for our time in Florence. It is located in the heart of everything. The museums and train station are within walking distance. In fact, everything is within walking distance. The local market, different cafes, delicious gelato and the best pizza place GUSTOS is around the corner. Their is also a Piazza around the corner from his apartment where the nightlife is abundant. Bernardo met us upon arrival, he drove two hours to greet us. I've never had this kind of hands on service before. He was so kind and informative about the area. He recommended great restaurants and activities to do. The apartment comes with a laundry machine so it was nice to clean our clothes as we had been traveling in from Rome. And did I mention how kid friendly the place was. The bedroom my children stayed in had a loft bed, they felt like it was designed specifically for them. The whole experience made us feel like locals. My family and I can't wait to return to Florence. I would highly recommend staying here. Thank you so much, Bernardo!! You were the most gracious host ever!!

Great location, but apartment needs some work
First I'd like to say that Bernardo was very kind and responsive, and I think he has a very nice property. We had a few issues with safety and cleanliness, as well as general upkeep which I plan to send to him separately and trust that they will be addressed. The beds are very firm and there were no screens on the windows so we had some visiting mosquitoes during the night. The kitchen is limited but we ate out so that wasn't an issue for us. The living room seating was comfortable. To me, however, the great thing about this place is its location - within 5 minute walk to Palazzo Pitti and one block away from San Spirito square with great restaurants and a superb place for espresso and lattes. There are excellent gelaterias nearby too. It's also easy walking to the Ponte Vecchio, Uffizi and other must-see sights.

AMAZING property
This place is HUGE and so wonderful. We LOVED this apartment. It is NOT in the center of town, which we absolutely loved. It is very close to Pitti Palace and a short, lovely walk into the center of town. There is a small bakery just 1 minute away, along with a small store. It was great and we loved it so much! It was a little cold, and we had to look around for extra blankets.

Very charming flat & well appointed. Central to everything, but out of the chaos.
Delightful experience -- thank you Bernardo! Wonderful reunion with our daughter and perfect place from which we could explore Firenze.

Great stay for five at the apartment.Comfortable and located well.
Even thouigh the apartment is located on the third floor, the lift provided transportation for several older vacationers. It's located within walking distance from most all sightseeing destinations and excellent resturants. The apartment is well equiped for eating in and comfortable for at least six people. I would stay here again should I return for another visit.

Beautiful apartment in a great location
We loved staying in this large beautiful apartment near Santo Spirito. It’s in our favorite part of Florence... south of the river, walking distance to everywhere, not so touristy. The apartment is spacious, it had great WiFi, it it is reachable by stairs or the lift, it is close to grocery store, bakery, restaurants and gelateria. The two modern bathrooms were wonderful for the 5 of us that stayed together. The washer was very convenient. You may be surprised by the street noise... but when you want to stay in the center of town there will be noise. We LOVED the bell tower that we could see out the window. Bernardo was incredibly helpful with the baby crib, fans, restaurant and museum suggestions. He was very reachable and helpful! Florence continues to be my favorite city.
