We were looking for a place in walking distance to the Sferisterio and chose Hotel Lauri as the reviews were very positive. No disappointment here! We liked our spacious room on the top floor with its high ceilings under the wooden beams. It was absolutely quiet, although it was a Friday night, no noises from the street or from adjacent rooms. The bed was excellent, aircon worked perfectly and silently.
We had booked the garage for 10 Euro per night which we consider a fair price. The garage is outside the city walls in a walking distance of about 5 minutes to the hotel, the individual parking lot is spacious and easy to access. After dropping your belongings at the reception, one of the staff accompanies you to the garage where you get a thorough explanation. When you leave for good, there is no need to bring the remote control back, as they have a box for it inside the garage.
Our sat nav had no problems with the address, but it was helpful to have the hotel's own descriptions sent by email just to compare if you are going the right way in all of these crooked little one-way alleys.
Staff was genuinely friendly, welcoming and helpful. I guess, they would be ready to give you any kind of advice you need for your stay. We had booked dinner in advance (BTW: Osteria del Fiore, right between hotel and Sferisterio, very good choice!) and therefore asked only for a good gelateria and were happy with their recommendation.
Reception gets in touch with you on WhatsApp about a day before your stay to ask you to do an online check-in which reduces check-in time at the reception to a minimum. You can also indicate or alter your arrival time on WhatsApp.
There are different opinions about breakfast here in the reviews and we can only say: It is a three star hotel, breakfast is decent enough. If you need bubbles, salmon and an elaborated buffet, you might want to stay somewhere else. We were ok with it and enjoyed it in the outside space.
We can imagine that the drive to the hotel might be a bit scary for guests who are not used to drive in Italian old towns and their super narrow alleys.

A lovely hotel right in the town centre, lift, a large room with a comfy bed and a view over the roofs of Macerata. Aircon, friudge, complimentary bottle of water, large bathroom, nice towels, nice toiletries. A very helpful receptionist. Top floor room as requested.
It probably cannot get better but arriving by car and parking it, you need to prepare for navigating the narrow roads and walking uphill coming back from garage. I guess for younger people that is charming, for me a stress :)

We had a great overnight stay at Hotel Lauri. It's in a great location and our room was comfortable, spacious and clean. We were fortunate to have booked a room with a terrace and would have loved to have been able to make more use of it. For a long stay it's ideal as there is also a kitchenette separate from the bedroom. The staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful and efficient.
For a three star hotel, there wasn't anything that we didn't like about it.

Breakfast was ample. Location was excellent. Room was spacious. Staff (all female) were faultless.
Weather was quite cold, so heating could have been a bit more efficient.

Good situation in the city but unfortunately problems of hygiena.
Avoid at any cost bed bugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! deplorable hygiena, bedbugs all over! got bitten all night. Ended up spending the night on the chair not to be bitten. Had to sterilize clothes and suitcase to avoid bringing bugs back home.
Avoid at all cost!!!!

Excellent hotel. Welcoming helpful staff. Very comfortable large double bed with lovely linen. Huge room with an outlook over the town and surrounding countryside. Right in the old city so close to everything.
Descriptions of room types when booking is contradictory and needs attention.
