We had a really nice meal in the evening here, and a great breakfast. The staff were all super friendly and facilities as expected. The electric car charging was a bonus.
4.0
The breakfast and dinner were superb. The staff were wonderful. The electric car charging was especially welcome.
This may be confined to room 14, since we have stayed in other rooms and not encountered the same problem. However the bed in this room was mildly uncomfortable to say the least. It does need replacing.

It's a quirky hotel, which I like, with slightly maximalist decor, but it provides excellent food and drink, interesting local beers and ciders and a very warm welcome. There is the additional bonus of a car charging station for guests - only at 3kW, but for an overnight stay this is perfectly okay. The breakfast, which is included, is a magnificent full Anglo-Welsh confection, which is always magnificently prepared. I have stayed here frequently to visit family nearby and am always very happy at the prospect of returning.
Maybe a few drinks in the rooms. But I am nit-picking here. My only slight quibble was that a 9-9.30am deadline for breakfast is a tad early at weekends and holiday periods. Equally they do very good lunches and dinners, so there is the understandable need for the kitchen to have a break.

The way the hotel lounge was decorated lots of lights and comfortable seating areas.
The bedroom was too small and clostrophbic. Unable to see out of the window. Toilet and sink area wasn't as clean as it should have been. Carpet very warn.

The weather was extremely hot and the room was too. The fan made little difference.

Large comfortable room. Lovely food at the bistro and comfortable bar area. Nice friendly staff.
No cooked breakfast on Friday. Should have offered a small discount or maybe a free drink at the bar

Car charger was helpful. Being dog friendly an important point.

Really nice little hotel, very welcoming. The single room was a good size with a wider than average, comfortable bed and nice clean bedding. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The bathroom wasn't very clean - there were dirty marks in the bath.

Excellent cooked breakfast. The hotel reception was friendly and made us feel at home. The food in the restaurant was good and we enjoyed hanging out in the beer garden.

The food was good, location is great. The rooms comfortable, staff very helpful.
Due to the hot weather the room was very warm, we had a fan but didn't cool it down much, but this wasn't yhe hotels fault everything else was good

We enjoyed the set dinner meal. Good value. Unfortunately breakfast chef was away when we visited so had yoghurts, cereal and toast for breakfast which was fine. Our rooms were upgraded because of no cooked breakfast option.

Lovely setting, historic building. Very helpful and pleasant hotel host. Room very small but comfortable. Excellent food, but no real vegetarian/vegan options other than salad. Safe off-street parking.
