Location in the newer section of Taranto and views from the room were very nice; staff was professional and courteous and pleasant; breakfast offerings were extensive and impressive. A free available parking space right in front on the street was a lucky and convenient bonus while we were there.
It felt like the room that we got (a Maisonette on the 4th floor, with a good sea-facing view) was either in need of a remodel, or not finished with one, or used for "second-tier" guests who book on Booking.com or something. Nowhere near as nice as the photos: walls were scuffed and worn with lumpy paint, not a single piece of artwork on any wall, cheap plastic nightstand lights, desk chair, and hot pot; a jagged broken wall mirror in the downstairs bathroom and mold in the shower ceiling area, a shower head that would not stay in position in the upstairs bathroom. The master bed was marginally comfortable with very flat pillows and on arrival the master bed was not made with a blanket or coverlet, just a sheet. Toilet seat in the master was very loose at its attachment points, lighting was kind of cold and glaring. Just not a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the location on the sea at all.
Also bear in mind that the stairway in the room is a very narrow spiral with limited handrails for those who might have mobility restrictions, and the balcony is really just a very shallow Juliet, maybe one foot wide so only for standing at the rail.
We asked for a different room after the first night, but were told that the hotel was full. So we departed after 3 days and gave up the full cost loss of a 4th night that we had planned, which the hotel would not refund because of the Booking.com reservation. Oh well, life is too short to travel across the world and dislike your accommodations.

Colazione come suol dirsi ottima e abbondante

Too few electric connections in the room

Nice hotel at the channel to the historic city center across the Castello Aragonese very close to downtown.
The breakfast was really good and the staff very kind.
There are only 5 parking slots assigned to the hotel and parking in downtown is a nightmare.
I had a suite over 2 floors with a bed on each level. A couch, 2 chairs and a table in the ground floor instead of the second bed would upgrade the whole suite and made it far beyond just an accommodation to sleep.

Fantastic view, great rooms, very tidy and appealing. Very friendly staff, helpful and supportive.
There was nothing to complain about.

Hotel Europa is beautifully located facing the inner harbor. I did not have a room with a view. It is a short walk to the old city , restaurants and sites. The room had two bathrooms and a bed loft. The bed and sheets were wonderfully comfortable; the hotel provided beautifully wrapped robe and slippers. With two bathrooms one in marble the other in grey tile, there were towels everywhere. Breakfast was in traditional Italian style with white cloth tablecloths with windows over looking the inner harbor or the canal and old town. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. I was very happy with my hotel choice.
In my room, the lighting was very quirky with multiple switches with different lighting options. There was one option which caused the lights to flicker rapidly until switched off. The only other issue is the narrow staircase leading to the loft bed and bathroom. It is very narrow; not for the those with mobility issues or size.

Great location and staff. Nice buffet breakfast. Car parking facility (book direct with hotel & payable).
Our room, although large, was in real need of refurbishment to bring it up to today's standards.
