The Newport House Bed and Breakfast is a lovely, quaint place with colonial architecture and furniture to bring you back in time! They also offer colonial dancing on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The hosts were wonderful, educated people who would sit with you at breakfast and tell you about times past! We had a relaxing time and we can’t wait to go back! Thank you John, Cathy and May!!
Honestly, we couldn’t have been happier with our accommodations!

Loved the way he portrayed the 17th century. The breakfast was delicious.

The breakfast was very good. John told us some interesting stories during breakfast. The owners had a pet rabbit that had a lot of freedom to play on the first floor.
The plumbing in our room was a little cranky. The flow valve for the toilet was sticky. The handle for the faucet on the cold side for the sink would come off and had to be put back on. The shower had a weak stream especially when the guest in the other room was using their shower.

John and Cathy were very personable and knew a lot of history regarding the region, we learned alot. Our room and bathroom were spacious and we had plenty of room to unpack our things in the closet and chest of drawers.
Thank you for opening your home to us!

Wonderful, very friendly hosts. Beautiful home. Walking distance to the museums, shopping, and especially the restored area.
Wasn't anything I didn't like.

The property was in walking distance to downtown. Owners were very welcoming and informative.
These things are minor: the cold water knob(sink) was loose so you had to make sure there was no water dripping , and maybe, an extra smaller towel or two.

The breakfast was beautifully presented using period china. Each day the breakfast reflected a historic theme with exceptional attention given to providing interesting syrups and preserves. Sometimes breakfast items also had an accompanying story which was fascinating.
I'd say I have no complaints at all.

Had pancakes or waffles every morning. Too many carbs and not enough variety.

Newport House is a beautiful and comfortable place to stay in Williamsburg located about a half mile from Duke of Gloucester Street. The hosts are charming and knowledgeable about the town and region and entertain their guests with stories about the local history and culture. A delicious breakfast is served in the formal dining room.
Nothing here to dislike.

We had a lovely 4 night stay at the Newport House B&B between Christmas and New Years 2021. The hosts, John and Cathy, were warm and friendly and provided us with delicious breakfasts each morning. We particularly enjoyed John's history lessons, and Cathy's beautiful Christmas decorations. We walked to all the Historic Williamsburg sites and there were many excellent restaurants also within walking distance. We arrived by train and when we were ready to head home, John graciously took us to the Amtrak Station in town. You should definitely consider the Newport House B&B for your next visit to Williamsburg.

We were served nice fresh fruit compote for breakfast. Convenient walk to Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Museum almost across the street. Convenient parking at the B&b. Close (12 minutes by car) to William and Mary college and Historic Williamsburg.
Lukewarm food and English Country dancing group in ballroom outside the bedroom door until 10 p.m..

The hosts of this beautiful B&B made the difference! Cathy and John were so friendly and helpful. They shared information on the area and treated us to some amazing historical references that added to our stay in Williamsburg. If you are traveling to Colonial Williamsburg and looking for a unique and one-of-a-kind experience, you should definitely stay at Newport House. Merry Christmas Cathy & John, say hello to Mae (house bunny rabbit).

The "property" was beautiful, well appointed in beautiful era pieces and enhanced by lovely holiday decorations.
Our hosts John and Kathy were delightful and welcoming. We learned much about the historic period from these two who are exceptionally interesting and knowledgeable.
The accomodations were comfortable and a joy to return to after long days of special activities and shopping.
Last but not least, the breakfasts were plentiful and delicious!
I would love to return to the Newport House in the future and highly recommend it to anyone headed to colonial Williamsburg.
I didn't like that we couldn't stay longer due to our family and work obligations!
