The owner Lynette is very very rude, gave off racist vibes.
She told me directly that I’m not her customer after lodging a request.
Absolutely nothing! The hospitality is bad, the owner’s “Lynette” attitude is very sickening.
I wasn’t given the best hospitality simply because of the color of my skin, I assume. Very sickening, to think that there’s clients that treat paying customers like trash!!!

Pictures don’t give justice to this place. It is located in the prime spot of the game reserve. With all the animals passing around for a spectacular viewing experience. No need to bring anything when visiting this place, the owner made sure that you have all the household equipment you would need or find at your own house/home
Due to the wild fires, we had to cut our trip short by day and asked to evacuate using a gravel road that stretches approximately 10km, that was the only unpleasant experience we encountered

The Location was lovely. We self catered.
Nothing, all good

1. The property was spacious, more than enough for my family.
2. The common area, kitchen, lounge and patio had all the necessary amenities.
3. The Wifi and DSTv worked all the time.
1. The map to the property was via a long gravel road. Recommend to guest to use the route to Thabazimbi, R516.
2. The main doors leading to the patio could not open, making access awkward.
3. The bed sheets and linen are old.

Very neat and well kept with all the necessary facilities. great location! wonderful opportunity to do game drives

The breakfast was lovely, however we paid quite a bit extra for them.
Still waiting on refundable deposit. The game drive vehicle was a bit neglected
3.5
Non-functioning aircon (noisy due to E3 error), communication and unroadworthy game viewing vehicle
4.5
The space and views!
The loft has no privacy, should rather be used as a games room.

We had a super relaxing stay. Thanks Lynette and team for a wonderful time. Pool and view are amazing and the house is very comfortable and lives up to the pics on the website etc. lovely way to spend some time with family from the UK soaking up the sights and sounds of the bush. Easy drive from JHB although the dirt road isn’t great so we opted to go out the main Mabalingwe gate to avoid it on departure but that has nothing to do with the house or hosts. Highly recommend hiring the game vehicle, we had such fun and many a laugh and story were made. And it’s easy to drive, don’t be scared! It’s well worth it and gives you a very different experience - a truly authentic one. Hope to be back soon!

beautiful place
the power kept on tripping
0.5
The kitchen, lounge and dining area is lovey.
The electricity kept tripping.
There are no curtains or blinds where you have people coming up to the property, which is unsavoury.
The cleaning staff arrived at 08:30 in a loud rattle and since the house doesn’t have curtains we absolutely stripped off our privacy.
The water pressure in the main house was absolutely low. If one person is having a shower, then in the other shower you can’t use water.
There were a variety of flies, I think at least warn guests or provide a fly spray or something to help.
I was told that there was a restaurant on site-the restaurant might as well be ‘off-site’ because it’s ridiculously far and driving up and down that route is not the best thing.
The beds are tiny.

Privacy, the house is beautiful on a hill with a beautiful view.
The house was not properly cleaned, owner doesn't communicate enough to prepare yourself, we didn't have wifi password, electricity kept on tripping the whole weekend, water was too restricted we basically showered with drizzling water, bathtub in one bedroom doesn't drain out water, and property didn't specify that one bedroom is outside and the other bedroom is an open loft, we were under the impression that its 3 full bedrooms. And lastly we encountered quite a few creepy crawlies hence we said it wasnt properly cleaned. The house is privately owned so anything goes wrong you are on your own.
4.5
modern finishings, own splashpool, boma, fully equipped kitchen with all amenities needed for a great stay.
one of the bathrooms was not properly cleaned when we arrived.

Amazing view, exclusivity and the house has a great vibe being open plan! The deck, braai and pool area is a 10/10

Mabalingwe reserve is beautiful
The house was double booked so they moved us (on the morning of arrival) to a different house that is cheaper on booking.com but then refused to pay the difference in rate stating that because the other house has 4 bedroom and this one just 2 and a loft we should be happy, however we didn't even need the extra 2 bedrooms and at the end of the day it qualitity of a house is not about the number of bedrooms. Terrible hosting while we were there as well, no communication prior to arrival on collection of keys, phoned the manager Henry multiple times to find out about wifi/wood etc. but he didn't answer or phone us back. On trying to sort out the refund issue Lynette was horribly rude and refused to take our calls or phone us back. Overall terrible service, don't waste your money staying here or at Hadeda lodge (15 Elandsfontein) which is the house they moved us to.

The location is outstanding! The other 2 bedrooms are beautiful and spacious. The ice maker came in very handy! The game drive was enjoyable, though I would've liked more interaction and explanation of animal behavior. Unfortunately the ride was very rough too.
The whole house needs a good spring clean. There was a lot of dust, the thatch roof needs to be cleaned for spiders. The glasses were dirty in the cupboard.
One of the biggest disappointments was the "third bedroom". It shouldn't be advertised as such as it is too small to house 4 beds. Again, the issue with the thatch roof remained there too. Perhaps only one double bed should be in there.
