The location of the hotel is right on the sea edge, with excellent sea views - and in our room's case, a massive floor to ceiling window to enjoy said views. This was the highlight of the hotel stay. A short walk from the island and beach along the coast, and literally a less than 1 minute walk to the coastal path right next to the sea was really good. The location is in the north of Weston-Super-Mare, where things are a little quieter with less noisy cars and people during the day and night. Although no parking is provided, a near-by and cheap pay and display (or app paid) car park is available which was easy to find and close enough to still be convenient. The day time and breakfast serving staff were welcoming, friendly and professional.
The weather was incredibly hot when we visited ~30 degrees. We requested a fan for the room and the hotel was unable to provide one as all had been taken. A little disappointing, but perhaps fair enough as I'm sure everyone had requested them all already in such unique weather. The huge windows that offered the great views only opened a tiny amount, so the room was unbearably hot and west facing so getting all the evening sun. Further to this, due to the heat we went down to the reception where there were 2 night porters working. It must have been around 11pm to midnight, and we requested to buy a bottle of cold water (which they had in stock as they checked). We were refused being able to buy the bottles as apparently the till was switched off for the night and we didn't have the exact change. I asked if we could take the water and pay the bill at check-out, and they said "no, we don't think we can do that" and left it at that. There was no apology or attempt to help so we went without cold water. There are kettles in the room, so we could boil our own water, but in such temperature the cold water as is sold at reception would have been preferable. I was 10p short for the bottle of water - which relative to the £130 odd paid for the room feels a little frustrating - particularly as I would have paid full value when their till was open. The cooked breakfast is quite modest in size and the quality of the food was average. The hotel does not claim to have it (in retrospect of looking again), but there is no shampoo or body wash provided in the rooms, only bars of soap.

great older property.. nice and comfortable.. out of town along the seafront… so a lovely walk in .. definitely have a sea view room and listen to the sea with no traffic noise… it’s not the premier inn .. it’s a good old fashioned English seaside hotel. staff were nice and friendly.
nothing.

Only when they changed the bed room to the sea view. This was the only thing which I liked.
The hotel need cleanliness as the beds were dirty, found hair and dirt on the sheets. I could not sleep due to unhygienic condition. The windows were full of dirt. The tv remote was dirty and hairy. The toilet couldn't flush out. I was very disappointed paid £115 for one night wasn't worth it. I wont go to this hotel again. They need to look after it. I asked the staff to warm the milk I gave them for my kids, when he brought back there was a hair in floating in the cup. I threw that milk. I really hated the experience I been through.

The whole hotel could do with an upgrade and the bathroom is rather cramped

The Room Was a Perfect Size, The Veiw Was Really Nice, The Bed Was Very Presentable With The Towels Led Out Nicely on The Bed
It Was Clean But There Was Bit of Blood On The Wall By The Window of The Sea Front Veiw
The Bathroom Extract Fan Made a Big Loud Noise When You Turn it On, The Breakfast Was ok Not The Best, The Waiter Didn't Ask if You Wanted Scrabble, Fried or Potch Egg When You Had Choices on The Menu, The Room Was Very Hot, With The Window Open For my Partner Who Couldn't Sleep Probably

As always it was a lovely stay. Great location. Lovely staff..
For some reason the pipes in the hotel make so much noise expecially during the night. I suppose with it being an old building. Maybe an airlock.

The staff are lovely and it's really clean.
It is in need of some TLC but it shouldn't put anyone off as its a lovely hotel and the views are amazing.

Absolutely gorgeous sea view from the bar/dance hall - huge windows, great in the morning to look upon the boats. The location of the property is only a few minutes walk from the main area of Weston-super-Mare, all a straight line and on the sea front. Staff were very friendly. Room incredibly spacious, very very high ceilings, with nice en suit bathroom.
The building is some sort of conversion from what I would assume is a sea front mansion, meaning the layout is very strange - to get to the room we had to walk through the bar area and around by a supply closet, and could hear the bingo and music from the bar all night through the wall. Not a huge problem, but never had this before. There also isn’t a keycard system like most hotels, instead you get the code to the front door which locks at 9pm and a physical key which you must drop off to the front desk before going out, and then pick up on return. Again, not a huge inconvenience, but never really experienced this type of system, more like a bed and breakfast.

Have to say reading previous reviews some felt the need to complain about how tired and dated the hotel was. Well all I can say we arrived at 11 and asked to leave our bag due to check in at 16.00 hrs...was told not a problem greeted with a smile. Checked in half an hour early. Lovely spacious clean room with amazing sea view. Many hotels are tired and dated but the most important part for us is cleanliness...this hotel definitely had this. Great location quiet and right by the sea wall and new swimming lake. Great coffee shop down rear steps. Lovely adequate breakfast this morning. Would definitely stay again Lovely weekend break.
