The cost of the apartment was less than others listed and so very good value. It was less than 10 mins walk to the beach - Fort Derussy beach - I think much nicer than Waikiki as it was much quieter and right in front of a lovely park. Supermarkets were under 15 mins walk away, as was Waikiki itself. Busess were just a street away. So all in all it was a good location - walking distance to everything. The host Dan was excellent at communication and there was everything you could need in the flat - from very sharp kitchen knives ( so good!) to beach towels, beach chairs, snorkels, pilates ball, weights, yoga mat, all manner of cleaning products, and all basic essentials in the kitchen. As there was no one in the apartment the night before, Dan was kind enough to let us have an early check in. There were doors for both bedrooms ( not the case in many places - open plan living ) and a large comfy sofa in the sitting room. A good size dining table and adequately equipped kitchen. The pool is positioned so that it doesn't get much sun but was fine for a cooling-off quick dip. The beaches are stunning in Oahu so you'll just want to swim in that glorious sea Thank you so much Dan for making our stay very comfortable .

This was a great place to stay. The listing was accurate. We were able to utilize street metered parking on the weeknights(free after 10pm-6am) the weekends we used the recommended parking garage. I really liked that there were beach items available. We were pleasantly surprised about having coffee maker and other items in the kitchen. The host communicated well too. Overall this was a great experience.

Walking distance to the beach and shopping. We did NOT rent a car based on what the owner stated in the descriptions. We used an uber multiple times and used Turo rental for a couple of days to explore more of the island. It was much cheaper than renting a car and paying for parking somewhere. It IS in a city. There are city noises (cars, people, sirens, etc.). Thankfully, the owner provided ear plugs. There are multiple fans to keep cool and an A/C system that looked fairly new--it worked well, but we had to empty the pan underneath the system (outside on the balcony) fairly often. Dan was a great communicator and was very responsive. We had all our basic needs in the kitchen and bathroom and it was nice to have beach towels and chairs. It was very clean and we felt safe. :). Hopefully the owner of the building replaces the hydraulic ram on the door for the emergency stairs in the hallway outside one of the bedrooms--it was VERY loud in the middle of the night. We liked that there were doors for each bedroom. It was my husband and I and our two adult children who stayed there. Overall, we would recommend.

Dan's 2 bedroom 1 bathroom condo is perfect. It is within walking distance of the Waikiki strip, we had a beautiful view of the Ala Wai Canal, and the property is clean and comfortable. Staying at this property made my husband and bestie's first trip to Hawaii perfect. We had a blast and look forward to going back as soon as possible.

Was clean but parking was a pain and last minute detail I was not aware of.

We had a great time here. The kitchen is well-equipped, the furniture is comfortable, and the location is ideal. Would recommend!

Shower curtain had mold and kept falling down. Only one chair for the dining table. Seem to be lots of police action every night. Lots of homeless and run down local buildings.

The condo is great! The beds are super comfy, the kitchen has full size appliances, we only used the fridge- don’t cook on vacation:) Dan is great with communication & accommodating with last minute changes. The pool is adorable & gets great sun in the afternoon. The condo is in a perfect location- a 10 minute walk to the beach, and surrounded by restaurants, bars, food trucks & local stores! We would 100% stay here again!

Our family of five stayed at Dan's place for seven days.
The kitchen was wiped down, but it wasn't cleaned with proper cleaning products. We had to wash any dish that we wanted to use when we first arrived. The couch was comfortable; however, there were no extra linens for a fifth sleeping space, when it was advertised to sleep five.
The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The toilet and bathtub were not clean. The bathtub had hair and sand in it; it was dirty when we arrived. I messaged Dan on the first day to let him know, and he said he would check with his cleaner but never got back to me. We ended up cleaning the bathtub ourselves, and the paper towels turned yellow after wiping it. Furthermore, the towels and bath rugs had an odd smell, and we questioned whether or not they had been washed.
In the bedrooms, we found large dust balls under the bed. Additionally, the apartment got very warm, and one of the fans was covered in dust and not working properly. In the main bedroom with sliding doors, there was a dried coffee spill that had never been cleaned up from the doors.
The photos of the building amenities are misleading. The pictures of the pool are from the building next door and not available to renters. There is, however; a very small pool outside the lobby.
I would not stay here again, and it’s a shame.

AC does not cool bedrooms. Central does not work and the single small window unit is only effective if you sit next to it.Not informed about parking till we arrived. Which was obviously intentional. Only a couple of washers and dryers worked. Overall cleanliness not good at all. Lack of towels for the time stayed. And warned by locals about being out at night

Beds are good
Ac good in living room, not so in bedrooms
Tend to be noisy surroundings

We were there for a couple of weeks and utilized the bus service to get around since parking is at a premium. Dan’s place is close to bus stops, scooter, and moped rentals if you wanted to rent them. Traffic can be a bit loud, but the a/c usually drowns out most of the noise. A short bus ride or walk to get to Walmart or the mall. We would walk to the beach as well. All in all a cute little place to stay.

This was our second time visiting Hawaii from Australia and were a little hesitant at first in making a stayz.com booking. We were pleasantly surprised and found this accomodation not only met, but exceeddled our expectations.
The host was very approachable and communication during the booming process right up to the arrival was fantastic. The accomodation itself is a little older but the appartment had lots of charm and character, stocked with all the basics (and some more left over from previous guests #payitforward).
The location was perfect, being a little further out of the main strip allowed for exploration of all Honolulu had to offer and procided opportunities of discovering several hidden gem restaurants we would otherwise have missed being right on the strip.
Highly recommonded for price, charm, location, and ease of booking! Greatly appreciate allowing us to stay at your property!

1st no ac, no parking bad communication about parking everything last minute info.

Value is good but not the best location to be close to beaches and Waikiki. Have to uber or bus everywhere. Building is dated with a small pool that was very cold because of shade.

The owner did not respond to requests for an earlier check in. The bedroom window did not shut. This made it very noisy at night and it was difficult to sleep. The noise canceling fan did little to reduce the noise. The response from the owner was one word fan.

The property was ok. Very noisy but you get used to it. Kitchen was adequate, chairs were unstable and unsafe. Shower over bath needs more non slip stickers on the bath base. There was no plug for the bath tub. Once I saw the mattress protector and pillow protector I was horrified. In the other room she found a needle and thread in the bed she said she thought she was getting bitten by something. We had to wash/scrub the coffee cups as they were all stained. After we got home I had a query on the damage deposit and messaged Dan 4 times but he never responded once. There was no aircon for the week we were there but I think that was the whole building. 2 fob keys would be handy for 4 guests otherwise the other couple have to come down to let you in.

Very positive. Wonderful location and nicely equipped. Very pleased.

Suite was well-equipped. Bed had a good firmness. Really appreciated the ceiling fan and floor fans to keep the place airy and cool. The location is great for walking to the beach and catching a bus to other sites. Street below is busy most of the time so there is lots of road noise (we still slept fine).
Cleaning was ok but not to professional standard (floors had a bit of debris and the bottom corner of shower curtain was a bit moldy). It would have been nice to have an extra set of keys since we had a larger group. Thanks for the great stay!

We enjoyed our stay. There were 2 rooms with closed doors which was nice for 2 couples. The only inconvenient is parking when you rent a car. There is some free parking around but most of the paying parking spots are 30$ and over. Mahalo!

Would go back there anytime again.

Location was ideal. Easy to walk anywhere. The place itself was not very clean. Vents were brown with dust that has probably been there for years. Sneezing wa non stop. Fridge is full of old food. We were without hot water for two full days and although I sent messages it took over 24 hours for a response and nothing was done about the issue. I sent second message and it was never responded to at all. I normally would never complain but there was never any feeling of caring. Air conditioner barely cooled the condo. If you are looking for a place to just sleep it’ll do in a pinch.

The kitchen is well equipped. A 20 minute walk to the nightlife in Waikiki. Keep in mind there is no parking. Rent a car each day you plan sightseeing, then return it and walk to the nightlife.

The condo with two bedrooms was perfect for us. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had most of the essentials we needed. It was walking distance to downtown Waikiki and the beach. The views from the balcony was a plus. Like other reviews, the A/C was okay but didn't work great and we needed to turn on the portable fan to cool the room down. The living room gets hotter in the afternoon because there wasn’t enough drapes or blockout curtains to block the sunlight. These are the few downsides but it’s manageable. Overall, it’s a great place and would recommend to friends and relatives.

The walk to the beach is about 10 to 15 mins via the Hilton Village Resort. Road noise was a bit of a issue as we live in a very quiet street at home. I must say the air conditioning was almost none existent. If it weren’t for the fans in the bedrooms I wouldn’t have been able to stayed there. The property owner Dan is very responsive to our requests. He provided us with an evening check out as our flight didn’t leave until 2200 hours. We so appreciated his flexibility with accommodating our needs. The condo has everything you need and more e.g. beach towels, beach chairs, beach umbrella etc….

Spacious apartment
Well located apartment . Can get a bit noisy at night but that is everywhere in that area. Lighting system a bit weird and some lamps hard to use. Great ceiling fan in lounge room plus aircon in unit. Would prefer if bedrooms had proper Curtains as gets light very early. I would definitely stay here again .

Lovely space in a great location
Apartment was lovely, with everything we needed. Cafe and grocery store just round the corner. Buses at the end of the road to whisk you to the beach or the museums. Short walk to the nearest beach. Views of the hills. Lovely!

Great location
Great location. Comfortable apartment. Secure building with a security person in the lobby during the day. A fair bit of street noise but it’s the city so….
4.0 / 5.0
The condo worked out very well, but no parking for car rentals. Public parking is very expensive.
The condo was as advertised and comfortable. Easy walk to Waikiki Beach. Saved a little money over a beach front hotel, but the savings wasn’t worth the inconvenience and lack of view.
