Book this place. It's perfect.

This is one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. The staff are incredibly welcoming and nothing was too difficult. The room is beautifully decorated and extremely clean. The location is perfect. This place feels like a home away from home and a lot of that has to do with Filipa being the epitome of a good host. We could not recommend this hotel more and we look forward to our next visit.

Nothing. This place is perfectly located near the busy parts but not in the middle of them. Meaning you can walk or ride to any of the many amazing restaurants in the area.

Lovely boutique hotel with friendly staffs!

I love the decor of this boutique hotel. The surrounding is quiet yet you can still enjoy lots of restaurants options by walking distance about 10-20mins. They only have 10 rooms so the pool side is always quiet and chill which is different from those hotels with lots of guests. We didn’t have Grab app in our first night but the staff was extrey helpful to get us rides. Room was clean and cozy. Very Bali style!

Bali, and specifically Canggu, can be hectic at the best of times, but stepping through the wooden doors of Amar you were immediately in a place of tranquility and comfort. Filipa was a wonderful host that made sure we were as well informed as we could be (as first time visitors to Bali) and gave us so many great tips and advice to make our stay enjoyable. Location couldn't be better just two minutes walk to Echo Beach which has so many places to chill, eat and drink, or try a bit of surfing.

Nothing I didn't like about the hotel, enjoyed the breakfast, staff, hosts, location and design.

We loved our stay here. The owner is delightful and sent us loads of recommendations for places to go to before we even got there. The hotel is super clean, the rooms are cosy, AC was great and the staff were lovely. Great location close to the beach.

Perfect stay in Canggu

Perfect hotel to feel like home. Simple, cosy and with everything you need. The location is the best in canggu, if you want you can go walking to the beach and best restaurants. The breakfast is amazing. The owners will take care of you and give you useful information. I also have to mention the outdoor shower.

Perfection!

Amar is a hidden gem. Hidden away from the beautiful, busy Canggu main area. Once you open the entrance door you are blown away with this beautiful, gorgeous hotel. Definitely go for a pool room. Enjoy the pool view when you wake up and listen to the peaceful waterfall. Room is just perfect, attention to detail is just gorgeous. Modern Balinese decor. I wanted to take everything home with me! I think you should have a shop on site to purchase some of your items. Loved the outdoor waterfall shower such a great experience. The breakfast was delicious, all local home grown produce tasty and presented with love. Location is also perfect. 5 mins to beach and plenty of restaurants locally ( definitely follow Filipa recommendations and you will not be disappointed). Area is up and coming, bohemian and classy at the same time. Staff were so friendly, attentive in a caring way. Plenty of space to just be in this ambient environment. Enjoyed chilling around the pool. Overall the best hotel in Bali just a perfect tranquil balance. 10/10

Loved this place. Extremely clean, perfect location and the most wonderful host and staff. A big thanks to the boy who would come and check the room with me every night for my irrational fear of geckos. haha. Can’t wait to come back

If it’s available do yourself a favor and book it.

Honestly- Everything. Amar was the cleanest hotel I have ever stayed at. The staff is so incredibly friendly and helpful. Daily breakfast was superb. The owner goes above and beyond to help you have the best experience within the hotel and in the surrounding area- Just follow her recommendations and you will have the best time. We received massages daily, my husband walked to surf, we walked to some of the best restaurants in Canggu, and my kids were obsessed with the pool. It was everything I love about Boutique Hotels and more. Thank you for the wonderful stay! As soon as we are back in Bali we will be staying again. 🤍

There is construction noise next door, but obviously that has nothing to do with anything Amar can control. Canggu is growing extremely fast so I think there would be construction noise anywhere you go.

Amazing!

We had a fantastic 6-night stay at AMAR! The hotel is set in a more tranquil part of Canggu, very close to the beach (it’s ideally located if you want to surf), and just a few minutes away from many amazing restaurants, cafes and bars. At the same time, we found it quiet when we wanted to just relax and read a book by the pool. The property and rooms are designed and decorated beautifully - its earthy and warm design elements made us feel so comfortable. We loved the common and tranquil pool. There is also a terrace on the upper floor if you want to relax or see the sunset. Breakfast was delicious and a real feast every morning - we loved the homemade bread, coconut yogurt and banana pancake. No lunch and dinner is offered but that is not a problem given the many options close to the hotel. The staff was great and extremely attentive. Lastly, the owners of the hotel, Filipa and João, were the most amazing hosts - they are really lovely and so passionate about AMAR, took great care of us, gave us many recommendations, and helped us to arrange our onward transfer. Thank you so much for this lovely stay, we will for sure be back!

Well located beautiful little oasis with kindest hosts

Amar Boutique Hotel is a little gem in Pererenan Canggu. The location is amazing, super close to the beach and other interesting spots by foot and scooter and at the same time calm little oasis that felt very safe. The design of the space is beautiful, the staff extremely helpful and kind, breakfast best we’ve had in Bali so far and the owners easily approachable and dedicated to support to make your journey best possible. Definitely recommend and would be happy to return. Obrigado!

overall positive, with some cautions

- Clean, modern - sociable environments - aesthetically pleasing

- location didn’t work out for me… if you are not comfortable with a bike, then it might be challenging. but I can see it will be perfect for some who 1) don’t mind motor bike rides 2) who are mainly staying in Pererenan. - Noise from construction at times, noise from beach clubs on specifically on this one Saturday…3am, bring ear plugs!

it was really clean. I could walk barefoot on the hotel grounds and it felt clean. hotel staff are great, friendly, polite and helpful. you also feel safe as they have a security guard outside the main door till late and the door is password protected the rooms are spacious, and the outdoor toilet is tastefully done to provide the outdoor feeling but also provide privacy :) I stayed on the ground floor king sized room next to the pool. I heard that the second floor ones are better! only regret is staying just 2 nights. I did not have a chance to enjoy the pool and gym. will come back again and book a room on the second floor! location wise - it’s on the quieter side of Canggu but there’s a short cut to the Main Street (7 mins by scooter). there are also upcoming restaurants and cafes in this area. it’s a short walk to the beach which was a great place to walk and unwind.

Excellent!

We especially liked the accommodation. It was extremely clean and the service was really great. The entire complex invites you to relax and gave us a great, relaxing end to our vacation. We could reach everything important for us (beach, bars, restaurants, spa) in a few minutes walk, so we did not need a scooter. We were honestly very happy about that, because you have to be up for the road traffic in Canggu. Many thanks also to the hosts. They were really extremely friendly and helpful. We felt very welcome and comfortable.

Everything was excellent.
