Only a quarter-mile beyond are the shops and restaurants in the heart of downtown Coeur d'Alene. Take pleasant hikes around Tubbs Hill (half a mile southwest), stroll to Sanders Beach in the summer for swimming and sunbathing (half a mile south), and tee off at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course (one mile east).
