About this house rental
Cozy house in the Town of Winter Park, only a six-minute drive to the ski resort, or take the free Lift Bus to the resort, which stops only a few doors away, and a four-minute drive to downtown Winter Park’s quaint shops and restaurants.
SEE BELOW FOR COVID-19 CLEANING/DISINFECTING. Also, it is our policy that you can cancel your reservation anytime before you arrive for a full refund if the cancellation is due to Covid. And, we are intentionally keeping our nightly rates as low as possible to help beat inflation.
You will be staying right at the trailhead to the Arapahoe National Forest and have an unobstructed, beautiful mountain view out of the living room windows and from the deck. This is the last house on the left at the end of the road and is right where the forest begins! It is quietly away from the highway, noise and traffic but close enough to everything so that you can easily enjoy all the amenities at Winter Park Resort, downtown Winter Park, Fraser, Tabernash, Granby, and even Grand Lake (which is only 35 miles away, and in the summer, you can go over Colorado’s highest paved road, the 12,183 foot, breathtaking Trail Ridge Road which takes you into Rocky Mountain National Park).
At the end of the driveway, you are on beautiful national forest trails for hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing (6 pairs for your use at the house), and bicycling. One of the trails takes you right to the Winter Park ski resort (uphill going but downhill back to the house from the ski resort). Otherwise, the Lift ski shuttle bus comes just a few doors away and will take you for FREE to the ski resort (which is about a twenty-minute ride with stops). You can walk downhill to downtown Winter Park in about nineteen-minutes. You can use any of our many ice skates for ice skating.
There are four bedrooms and a loft. The large master bedroom has a king-size bed, adjoining shower and a two person Jacuzzi bathtub in the master bathroom, the second bedroom has two bunk beds with a full size bed on the bottom of each, the third bedroom has a queen-size bed and the fourth has a queen-size bed, a futon and an adjoining bathroom. There is also a loft with a couch that converts into a queen-size sleeper bed, a TV and glider chair. The living room has two couches, one of which is a Lazy Boy queen-size sleeper bed.
The kitchen has granite countertops, appliances, pots, pans, silverware, utensils, dishes, microwave, toaster oven, and Kurig coffee maker - just like home. You can grill outside year-round on the natural gas grill (no need to buy propane). You will have access to Xfinity Wi-Fi and cable TV, a DVD, and plenty of books and board games for family and friends to enjoy. The fireplace in the living room has a warm, wood burning stove insert. There is a mudroom downstairs to store all your ski and other equipment. There is a foosball table in the mudroom. Our place is smoke and pet free (check with us, though, if you really do need to bring a pet).
When you step off the property, you are in the Arapahoe National Forest where you can snowshoe (we have six pairs for you to use), sled (we have a few of those for you as well), or cross-country ski for a peaceful trek to many quiet and beautiful places. All summer long and before it freezes over in the winter, you can walk 5 minutes up the trail to the little, wooden bridge over Vasquez Creek and enjoy the peaceful, bubbling sounds of a high Rocky Mountain creek cascading down the mountainside. And if you are up for it, you can wade in the ice cold water coming from melting snow. You may even see some wildlife such as deer, moose, elk, chipmunks, bears and foxes.
You will need a 4WD or AWD vehicle during a winter visit to park right by the house. You must travel over a 12,000 foot pass and up some steep inclines when you travel from Denver. The house is at the base of a mountainside. There are two parking spaces next to the house (driveway up is a little steep) and two parking places down a short staircase right by the street (lower driveway in is not as steep).
If you are looking to stay at a pleasant mountain cabin anytime of the year, you and your family will enjoy staying at our place. In the spring through autumn, there are 600 miles of mountain bike trails open for you to enjoy in this mountain bike capital of the world. The ski lift will be operating (check their website for times) and will take you and your bike to the top of the mountain so you can ride down in the summer. Or, you can access this amazing network of mountain bike and hiking trails right out our front door. There are lots of summer activities in Winter Park and all over Grand County. In the winter, enjoy the great snow in this winter wonderland!
Also, you could go a few minutes down the highway to the Grand Park Community Recreation Center in Fraser. They feature a 30-foot climbing wall, 20-foot loop slide, lazy river, hot tub, full weight and cardio room, fitness classes, and much more. There is a bowling alley and movie theater nearby.
Regarding COVID-19, we take it very seriously: We have an iWave air purification in the furnace system. The iWave.com website states, "When the ions come in contact with viruses, bacteria or mold, they remove the hydrogen molecules – without them, the pathogens have no source of energy and will die. The ions also attach to allergens like pollen and other particles, causing them to band together until they are large enough to be caught by your ventilation system’s air filter. iWave’s technology generates the same ions that nature creates with lightening, waterfalls, ocean waves, etc. Nature uses energy and shear to break apart molecules, naturally cleaning the air and producing a healthy environment. " We ALSO have three Pure Air 3000 portable air purifiers, one upstairs and one down stairs, which use four different air purification technologies. Their website is at greentechenv.com says, "Kill mold, mildew, bacteria, viruses, and odors – without lifting a finger! While the naked eye can’t see most of these environmental contaminants, you can rest assured that your PureAir 3000 is working overtime on your behalf to significantly reduce all types of indoor pollution as well as eliminate odors of all kinds, including those from pets, cooking, and smoking." Our cleaners used enhanced cleaning protocols.

We had a great time skiing and watching the game. There was plenty of room to hangout in the main area and the location was perfect. An easy bus ride to the mtn!

Comfy beds and furniture, great great location, but no snow removal on decks and grounds, no usable outdoor space and no wood available for wood burning stove, cleanliness of place is in need of attention to make it clean. For cleanliness some mugs had mystery food residue and cob webs visible in bathroom and floor had noticeable old debris. We enjoyed the space and location, but these few things were disappointing and detracted from our best enjoyment of the property

Loved the location of this house!! So nice being off the trailhead, we went out multiple times a day. We didn’t cook a lot, but everything we did need was there. The owners were very responsive. Also loved that we didn’t need to strip beds etc because we payed for the cleaning fee. No huge lists of things to clean before you check out. Huge bonus! Loved being so close to town. Met all our needs. Would stay again! Thank you

Beautiful home with plenty of room for our family. We liked that it was clean, comfortable, and very family friendly. The hosts are great, quick to respond to any questions we had. We loved the location, just steps from the national forrest for hikes/walks. And within an hour of so many wonderful places to see and do. We will definitely recommend this home to family and friends. Thanks for providing an awesome place for our vacation!!

Very responsive communication with Shaun. The house was well equipped with everything we needed even a essential oil diffuser for a pampered experience in the jetted tub! We cooked all our meals from scratch and the kitchen had all the blenders, mixers, specialized pans we needed. We loved the views and direct access to the trails right next to the house and enjoyed the snow shoes. Quick drive to restaurants, sport shops and Winter Park resort. Would absolutely book this property again! Thank you Shaun!

We love this house and the location. The house is near the ski slope and town, is comfortable and roomy, and has lots of extra things to use such as sleds, ice skates, snowshoes, foosball, sauna, and board games. The park with walking paths and an amazing sledding hill are right next to the house. We enjoyed making many of our own meals in the well-equipped kitchen. We will definitely stay here again when in Winterpark. Thanks for sharing your lovely home!

Breaux Family Winter Park 2022
Wonderful property. Plenty of room for large family. Room downstairs is separated from other part of house with the mud room. Had lots of snow when we arrived. Had to park 2 vehicles at Cooper Creek parking. Had a 4 wheel drive truck that we used to go to the store. Snow plow did not come up the last bit of road to house even after receiving over a foot of snow. Not enough traffic to melt snow, so be prepared to need 4 wheel drive. The kids loved the snow sleds that were available. They could have played in snow all day and never went skiing. The shuttle was only running every hour from lack of workers. Don't miss the one you want. Locals do go up in Arapahoe Forest to ski, so they park on road in from of home. The home was wonderful in every way. The home met all our needs and more. The kids loved their bunk room. It was so nice having a washer and dryer. After skiing each day, it was great to come home to a meal prepared in a large crockpot. I would recommend this home to anyone. We loved our stay.

Excellent location and lovely home
This house was very convenient for our long ski weekend in Winter Park. It is also right next to wonderful snowshoeing and hiking trails in the National Park. The owner allowed use of snowshoes and sleds from the house. There was a sledding hill in the park, but quite a climb to sled from and a few small tree obstacles on the hill. The children enjoyed it very much, however. The house had everything we needed and the owner was very responsive and helpful. I would highly recommend this house for a stay near Winter Park and will stay here again if the opportunity arises.

Excellent location, beautiful views, lovely mountain house
This house was perfect for our group - there was a beautiful open living area with gorgeous views of the mountains out the many windows, so we could all spend time together after a day of skiing. The trail allowed us to ski back to the house from the mountain, and now that we know that we can't wait to come back to skin up!

Flexible House - Steps from the National Forest
This was probably the best setup of any VRBO house that I have stayed in. First the four bedrooms accommodated our group perfectly with three bedrooms having queen or king beds, and one bedroom with bunkbeds. Second, the property owner really provides a great experience. There was all of the essentials already in the house when we got there. Shampoo, toilet paper, paper towels, etc... were there. Finally, a great location: you can walk out the door and into the National Forest with loads of great trails (recommend the Blue Sky - 4 mile trail). This was a great experience.

Very clean and well stocked cabin home. We were delighted with the isolated feel of the location being right on the edge of the national forest yet so close to town. Host was very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Perfect for family vacation.

Great spot for a family get together!
We recently stayed at this property with our extended family and were extremely pleased! The property is situated at the end of the road, right next to a trailhead. The home was clean, cozy, well supplied and a perfect place for us to reconnect with family, some of which we hadn’t seen for almost 2 years because of the pandemic! The owner was responsive to our questions prior to booking and check in was a breeze. I personally loved the amazing shower heads they have installed in all the bathrooms. I would definitely recommend this property and book it again in the future.
