Memorable with orange home-baked cake by Jose’s wife.

Location was great. Near to central area and river. Walking distance to restaurants, shopping and most historic sites. Rooms were thought fully decorated. Quiet with a pleasant courtyard for morning coffee or evening cocktails. Jose, our host had many useful tips and suggestions.

Note that there is not everyday cleaning of your room.

A dream of a place

The place cannot be more beautiful and quiet. Everything in the property is of the best quality and good taste. It is 5 min walking from the centre, the main attractions and dozens of great restaurants. Jose and his family are amazingly kind, friendly and helpful. They make you really feel like you have family in the town, always available for advise and help if necessary. The welcome is from a different planet!! José explained everything that was necessary sitting in the lovely patio of the property with a bottle of delicious white wine. It was a great start.

Oasis in the middle of Tavira

A little oasis in Tavira. Beautifully converted family home with 3 rooms for guests situated around a gorgeous courtyard. Lots of design details, comfortable, very pretty rooms which make the stay warm and welcoming. Thoughtful facilities such as tea and coffee making, delicious cakes provided for the quests and shared kitchen with honesty bar, umbrellas to take to the beach and a fantastic host Jose who provides so much detail and recommendations about the area you feel immediately at home.

I can recommend Azul Sul without any restrictions and will come back!

It is a very cosy and nice appartement created with a lot of care and love. Further we got excellent tipps and recommendations from the owner Jose. We took care about us from the first minute until we close the door to leave.

A very stylish, clean and comfortable flat with lovely hosts

Crossing a beautifully planted inner courtyard we reached our very comfortabel and clean apartment! It was styled with an eye for the detail and had everything we needed. We felt very comfortable and at home. If there was a slightest worry- Jose the host was also there for us. During our stay we had several very nice encounters and he took us bifana eating on a fair. Also his wife is baking very good cake for everyone on a regular Basis. It was a great stay and we will return!

Relaxing and tranquil - the perfect Summer holiday

A wonderful oasis of tranquility. The perfect base for a relaxing and sunny holiday. José was a superlative host (and his wife makes the best cakes). Beautiful surroundings and first class amenities.

Azul Sul was perfect! The inside garden was incredible and the room was really comfortable. We had a wonderful stay! The warm welcoming from Jose was the perfect start of our vacation.

Best stay in the Algarve!

Beautiful 3 room boutique property that has been in their family for many years. completely redone a few years ago with modern finishes. the courtyard between the rooms was our favorite place to sit and have a drink. The location was perfect. Very central. Pretty much 5 minutes from all the main sites and restaurants. The owner made sure we had an excellent experience. Prior to staying he emailed us a 16 page guide to Tavira and surrounding areas. When we checked in he welcomed us with a drink and discussed his recommendations further. He even made reservations for us at some restaurants because we don't speak Portuguese. We can't say enough about our experience at Azul Sul. We will definitely be back.

Exceptional

Azul sul was the perfect place to stay in tavira. It was close to everything but quiet. Jose was incredibly helpful. Everything was sparkling clean. The patio was lovely on a sunny afternoon. I highly recommend it!

Incredible, rare find

A hidden little gem in Tavira - with the old traditional Portuguese house having been converted to 3 separate accommodations - our studio was perfect with cooking facilities and separate bedroom / kitchenette - perfect for our family of three with a newborn. Jose simply could not have been more accommodating and provided us with every info and even fresh local pastries. Slow to tell people about this rare find, but Jose and his wife (originally her family home) have put so much of themselves into the property, it would be amiss to not recommend. Would be perfect for groups or families to rent the 3 spaces and convene in the beautifully manicured courtyard.

Great stay in a lovely town

The location was close to the shops, ferry to the beach and the old town. Very close to many restaurants and cafes. The host was very friendly and gave us ideas about what to do.

Superb mini break Jose goes the extra mile

Location ideal for very very short walk into main town area.. Jose the host could not of been more welcoming his advice on restaurants places to visit was spot on. I very excellent alternative to a hotel lovely secure courtyard with three rooms off and sunny area for drinks and chats to your fellow travellers. Could not fault the location and facility especially the home made cake available after a day exploring.

a haven in a busy town

We hope to go back to stay at Tavira again and we would stay at AZULSUL. The hosts were exceptional and really helpful.

Good air conditioning. Comfortable bed. Beautiful enclosed garden, so quiet, you would not know that you were in the city. The hosts gave us such useful information which is just what you need when you only have three nights. Nice shower. Good welcome when we arrived.

We got mixed up by the website and we thought we were getting a room with a washing machine and kitchenette so we could make breakfast. Nothing that we did not like about the property.

Tranquility, history, hospitality

Jose treats you like you are a long lost , valued member of the family. He is the perfect host with his warm hospitality and his deep knowledge of the area. The location is terrific, easy walking distance to the centre and the ferry for Isla Tavira. The house is a beautifully restored family home and there are only 3 guest rooms. We met the other guests and in a small way became friends. We ate our breakfast in the central courtyard each day and came home to it each night for coffee by the candle lit ambiance. Tranquility ! Tavira is a great town for history buffs or beach goers. Jose will lend you self guided walking tour books that could keep you going for many days. This is one of the few places we have stayed where we may return primarily for the hotel. If we were returning to Tavira and Azul Sul was sold out we would likely change our dates just to be able to stay there.

I always try to give a balanced review but I can't find 1 thing to comment on negatively.

We were made to feel very welcome by Jose and Maria Helena for our 3 night stay - they were very flexible with our check in times. During the check in our hosts gave us detailed information of thing to do, places to visit and restaurant recommendations over a glass of wine and delicious home made cake. The accommodation is very well located and the sunny courtyard area with its shady seating very peaceful for sitting and relaxing. Everywhere is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. There is an honesty bar for soft and alcoholic drinks. The hosts “go over and beyond” to ensure that their guests are happy and content. AzulSul is a gem! Thank you Jose and Maria Helena.

Azul Sul is a true gem! I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for the perfect spot in Tavira

We really enjoyed the pace in Tavira. It's a charming location to explore or simply spend time by the water. The food was amazing and there was music in the evenings. It was a very relaxing start to our vacation.

I'd be hard pressed to offer something we didn't like. It was very hot so we quickly figured out why it's quiet in the afternoon. But the evening cooled off and everyone was back outside.

Amazing stay, we couldn't start our holidays in an other way.

We loved the decoration of the room, and the welcome process with advices of good places to visit and a glass of wine offered by our kindly host 🥰 Also, the cosmetics available were excellent, and fresh flowers were an appreciated attention. There's a lot of touristic information available inside the rooms or in the living room. The breakfast was not included, but it was not a problem at all ! So that we were free to choose : our host recommended good pastelería in the village, and also kindly made an excellent orange cake. The place is very well cared : flowers, chill music, beautiful decoration.. Finally, the other guests are very respectful of intimacy of everybody.

Nothing, to be honest this accomodation was one of the best place I tried far from here.
