Property was very lovely when we first arrived, location wasn’t great as most the nice places are the beachfront I would advise having a car if staying here as taxis are very expensive.
Unfortunately we stayed at the hotel during a hurricane and the hotel was messed up because of this but this affected 4 out of our 7 nights staying at the hotel. They never sorted our pool it was filthy and only half full after the storm so we didn’t get to use it at all and feel completely overlooked we had blue tape all across our windows for most the stay while other rooms were sorted a day or 2 later we felt completely overlooked and the amount we payed for our stay I feel we should be refunded a portion as we didn’t get to use our pool which was the main reason we booked this hotel in the first place for our own private pool. Location isn’t great at all and the WiFi only worked for roughly half our stay before the storm during the storm and after the storm it cut out on and off. We also lost power in our room a few of the nights and had no air conditioning or lights. Shame as the hotel does have potential just feel we were overlooked and not taken care of the way we should have been.

Very beautiful hotel, gorgeous rooms, pleasant staff and great chefs!!
We thought the takeaway boxes we got when we had to leave early and miss our paid breakfast was poor but apart from that no negatives!

Very pretty property with super helpful staff. The concierge service over whatsapp was very helpful and fast to respond. Pretty pool with nice sunbeds and good cocktails/ drinks from the bar.
- Obligatory service fee: Coming from Germany I dislkied the obligatory service fee on every item I purchase on the property, even if I pick up a beer from the pool bar myself which literally involves no "service"
- Noise: While we were visiting there were some closeby local festivities with very loud music that kept us awake every night
- Location: We were visiting with a rental car so had no issue with the location however, I would not have felt very comfortable walking to the restaurants in town from the hotel's location

Absolument tout …. Si le paradis existe , ça ressemble beaucoup au Bardo !
Absolument rien !

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel and would choose it again if ever in Tulum.
The place is absolutely stunning, a true oasis, and we loved coming back to it after a busy day outside. Both public spaces and the room are beautifully decorated and surrounded by nature.
The entire team was helpful and accommodating (shout out to Jay from the front desk!) and communicating with them over whatsapp was very convenient.
As other reviews mentioned the hotel is a bit isolated but for us it worked well - we never choose to stay in touristic zones where there is nothing but hotels. We easily walked (during different times of the day) to the city centre and to the vibrant neighbourhood La Veleta to have dinner. Its a nice and safe walk.
I wouldn't say we 'didn't like' something.
The things that perhaps could be improved are:
1. Variety of vegan options, especially for breakfast (to be fair, apart from fruits there weren't any so we ended up having breakfast at the nearby café on most days).
2. The plunge pool temperature was way too cold for us so could not enjoy it.
3. As others mentioned in their reviews - the aircon in the room is poorly positioned with the air blowing in your face. Its impossible to sleep with it during the night, but without it, for us it was a bit too hot. We got used to it towards our end of the stay and just slept with open windows but not everyone would like that.

I loved the privacy and the aesthetic of the place. One of my favorite parts was starting the day with a yoga class on site.
there was nothing to dislike.

Beautiful boutique style hotel with villas sympathetically nestled in jungle. The design and style of the hotel is great and the staff were honestly exceptional. Nothing was too much and they went to great lengths to make our stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
The villas have very minimal outside seating areas and because Tulum is expanding so rapidly there is a moderately high chance of noise from building works from adjacent plots.

Les villas sont incroyables !
Le coût additionnel pour un deuxième café et un jus d’orange le matin bien que nous ayons pris la formule avec petit déjeuner ;)

It’s was a beautiful jungle themed boutique hotel with AC
Everything was over priced. I couldn’t justify the cost for the service. They also snuck auto gratuity on our bills and we later found out that the staff was supposed to ask. We stayed at hotel YellowNest which we thought the hotels were pretty comparable. Our stay at yellownest was much more pleasant for 1/2 the cost of Bardo.

Location is great. The hotel is in the middle of the jungle with top class facilities. The pool, the Yoga area, and the rest of the facilities are beautiful. The suit was stunning with a very nice outdoor shower. The food was great and staff were very friendly.

The hotel is very calm and private. You feel like you are the only persons in the hotel.
Very clean and nice the service is beyond great
The hotel is so so far from the sea. And in Tulum there is no free beach you need to pay hundreds of euros to the hotels with beach clubs

I love the villa and the entire hotel. Perfect relaxing stay for couples and individual. Villa is super clean and a really nice vibe. They have two pools and two restaurants that are offered.
I would say be prepared to pay for everything. We were charged for distilled water. I was also charged for happy bday balloons for $75.00. Nothing is complimentary there. Also I am a picky eater
and didn't really like the food. We went off the premises everyday.

Hotel Bardo was the perfect getaway. The staff were all so amazing and attentive- Special thank you to Jay and Mara for reassuring our stay and making sure our weekend was nothing short of amazing. The grounds were well maintained, location was great, love love the complementary yoga and the food at the restaurant were so tasty.
On our last day we ran into an issue that could've turned out so unfortunate for us, however Mara was sure to turn things around and we were greatly appreciative of this

Me and my husband had a three day trip away from our kids for the first time and Hotel Bardo exceeded our expectations. We did not want to leave. Will definitely be back again next year.
Everything was great but I’f I had to pick one thing , the A/C only blew over the bed area instead of the whole room; would of been nice to have it in all surrounding areas.

Amazing venue, service, property
A little far from the town/beach. Costs about 600 pesos to get to the nightlife scene which adds up.

The staff at Bardo were lovely and very accommodating. We stayed for our honeymoon and they left us a lovely note and cheesecake for when we arrived. The place has a very relaxing vibe and the beds are comfortable.
The location is quite far away from the beach area of the town. The rooms are super cute with lovely styling however the shower door isn’t properly sealed and we had a big issue with mosquitos getting in to our room, especially at night time. We got bitten a lot when we were sleeping. The staff were great with helping us but there was no real way for them to prevent them getting in. The other thing to mention is that it is really expensive here!! The food at the restaurant and drinks by the pool are $$$. We were even charged a compulsory $20 (AUD) service charge for the few drinks we had by the pool one day. Also when we checked out there was many ‘taxes’ we were made to pay that one would presume would have been included in the price when you book.. There were also drinks on our tab that were not ours. The hotel staff did take them off though.

The property itself was beautiful. Everything was amazing.
In complete transparency, my boyfriend was incredibly rude to staff (so I understand why we aren’t their favorite customers). However, they charged my card the amount for the room and still charged my boyfriend the full amount of stay. When I asked what the charge was for, they immediately were defensive and claimed it was ‘not their brand’ ….which is impossible considering there is one hotel named ‘hotel bardo’ in tulum with their location attached. They told me to dispute it to my bank, and the bank did confirm that it was in fact hotel bardo that charged. Hotel bardo apparently said I never showed up and it was a ‘no show fee’, they actually cancelled my booking on booking.com and said I was a no show so I lost all rewards I was supposed to earn on that booking as well. I understand my boyfriend was far from pleasant, but do not feel it was fair that I was the one who literally had to pay for it. now I am dealing with many issues with my bank and had to get a new card - in which my vacation has now been made incredibly difficult considering the fact I only have one other credit card which is an Amex and not accepted at most facilities. Given all this, no matter how amazing the property was, I would never recommend this property to anyone ever. I truly have never had this happen and feel incredibly screwed over.

We loved EVERYTHING! The service was incredible, the facilities were amazing.
Having bicycles available was great, and meant you could easily head to Tulum town and explore!
Highly recommend eating out, but the food at the hotel is so good that you could also just stay there the entire time.
Would love to come back one day!
Aroma coffee is great for breakfast if you want to head out.
La Negra Tomasa for dinner.
Tropi Tacos for a cheap lunch - get a ‘special plate’ option.
Something to be aware of is that it does feel like it’s in the middle of nowhere when you first drove there. But don’t be worried. Once you arrive it all makes sense!

The customer service of ALL THE STAFF at the Una Vida property (I was unexpectedly upgraded to the Jacinta house) is simply unmatched! I traveled alone and every single person from the hotel bardo/una Vida property greeted me and followed up on my stay and comfort with genuine concern that my trip was everything I needed and then some! I will definitely be back! The property is so serene and peaceful. Highly recommend!
