really great cabin! close to town but still quiet by the lake

Cute and cozy cabin that was perfect for our needs! Spent most of the time on the water enjoying tubing and exploring the different sandbars and resorts. Also found a fun backwater loop with a lot of turtles! It was great to have our own private dock for the boat and the boat landing is extremely close. Wonderful week with a lot of memories made!

This comfortable and very clean cabin on Nelson Lake was perfect for a family of 4 adults. In spite of being sited between a county road and on a big lake, it was almost always quiet—few cars and trucks, few speedboats. The kitchen was well stocked with every bit of kitchenware we needed. Having converged on the location from 3 different cities, we appreciated the generous parking.

Evolve is unorganized and unprofessional. This was the worst experience I’ve ever had with a company.

Our family had an incredible time on our vacation! Our boys fished off the dock the minute they got up until the minute they went to bed. The cabin is perfect for a family of 4. Very well kept! We will definitely be back again next summer!!! This was our first family vacation and the owners were very gracious too and made our stay very pleasant. Thank you so much!!

We've stayed at a lot of different places throughout the years and this one was a definite hit. Most just give you the basics, but not this one. Quality mattresses and high count sheets. A closet equipped with soft towels, cozy blankets to snuggle with, air conditioning, pots and pans of every size, a GAS stove (I love cooking with gas), a big shower, comfortable furniture, and that's just the cottage!
Outside there is a small deck with a table and 4 chairs with view of Nelson Lake, a private pier, a fish house, and a fire ring to have a campfire.
And Nelson Lake! You cannot beat the fishing on this lake! Eagles and Loons are easy to find. If you're looking for a place to eat, there are businesses close by to pull up to and get great food.

Awesome! We stayed at the cozy cabin last week and had a fantastic time. The cabin is one of the original lake cabins we learned from the locals. The cabin had new furniture and other upgrades. The beds were super comfortable. We were both able to work remote with no internet issues, which was a pleasant surprise. Having a dock for our own use was a nice bonus Vs having to trailer our boat in and out of the lake each day. It was a beautiful scene to sit by the fire at night and listen to the loons. We also enjoyed the many great bars and restaurants on the lake and the proximity to downtown Hayward. We will definitely be coming back next year.

Pros: traditional northern Wisconsin cabin with wifi, microwave and coffee maker. Good fishing. Beautiful sunsets. Lake is quiet even with the fast boats. Great for kayaking. Beds are very comfortable. Everything that we needed for a relaxing cabin stay.
Cons: Lake is pretty weedy and I don't recommend swimming in it if you don't like weeds. Beds are doubles so a bit short if you are over 6'.

It was quite easy.

Although the property owner was very friendly and responsive, there were simply too many issues with this cabin to make our stay comfortable that we ended up leaving early. Re. internet, the property is actually on a mesh network with a neighboring property rather than having its own router, making the internet completely unreliable. We could not work remotely as we had hoped, and like we've done at other properties on Nelson Lake before. Second are the plumbing issues. The shower leaked and had tile falling off, revealing mold underneath. We also had a leak under the kitchen sink when we first arrived. The host had it promptly fixed, but just spoke to the general state of the cabin. We were expecting more from a "Premier" property.

Home right on Nelson Lake!
Matt was very accommodating and hospitable during our stay. If there was anything we needed, including having a connection for some firewood, he was very helpful. The home’s interior was recently renovated and all the amenities were available for use, including linens and towels.
Overall, a pretty good experience for our trip!

Excellent Stay
Nice small cabin that fit the four of us extremely well. Lake is right behind cabin with a nice dock. Easy to fish from and get our canoes in and out. Cabin was nice, everything you need for a get away.

Nice time
Property was ideal for us with adequate parking for vehicle and boat.
Nice place to spend time in Hayward area and on Nelson Lake.

This place had issues.
Property is Poorly Maintained!! Why: 1.) The TV worked for only 1 night out of 3. The recently installed WiFi booster didn't work correctly. 2.) The light fixture for the reading light (above the headboard) in bedroom #1 had no lightbulb. 3.) A similar light fixture in bedroom #2 was not plugged in. To get this light plugged in, we had to run an extension cord under the bed. 4.) While running this cord under the bed, we found extensive dust and several gum wrappers. 5.) The wall light switch for the bathroom medicine cabinet does not work. We were just lucky to find a 2nd "well-hidden" switch on the far side of the cabinet. 6.) Finally, we requested a small reimbursement as we departed. The propriety owner said "I will handle it". After several more texts and frustration (thinking we'll never receive it), a reimbursement check arrived 18 days after we requested it.

Everything was as advertised
the only downfall was the size of the out side garbage and recycling containers are to small

Matt & Peggy are great
Impossible to get closer to the lake. Bucolic and beautiful. Absolutely quiet during the week—some activity on the weekend. Cabin is all you need for a group of four or less. Get your fresh bread from Firehouse Bakery on Main St. In Hayward. Supper Club ranking: 1) Tally-ho 2) Chippewa Inn 3) The Ranch. Four Seasons on the lake nearby is nice for lunch or if you need to accommodate additional guests. Park Island is the local watering hole—Charity the owner is a sweetheart. Get ready to play dice.

Perfect Family Stay
We had a great time at the cabin. It was perfect size for our family and the location couldn't have been better. We enjoyed fishing off the pier and was perfect for swimming too. The evenings were spent by roasting marshmallow on the the fire pit. Thanks for making our family vacation a memorable one!

Pretty Good Weekend Getaway
This property was in a great location on Nelson Lake with a slight slope to the lake and dock. There was a nice firepit with some wood near the lake, a fish house and a deck to view the lake. A gas grill was on the deck and chairs to use with a nice table on the deck. The cabin was small, living room and dining area adequate, small bathroom, small bedrooms with only full size beds in each room. We fixed a hole screen with duct tape, the TV reception was via internet and the reception was spotty and blurry. We ran out of gas for the grill on 2nd night and had issues with the dock parts separating and being uneven. The owner was next door and wasn't friendly, but did work on the dock fixing on our last day. We had fun at the cabin, great views, fun fires and overall had a good time. But there were a few issues mentioned that needed to be addressed.

Perfect little cabin on the lake
Spent a long weekend, and enjoyed everything about it. The cabin is perfect. It was very clean and well-equipped. Beds were comfortable, shower was hot, and the view of the lake is beautiful.
Owners are right next door and available if needed but also left me my space to enjoy myself.
Lots of things to do right on Nelson Lake - great food, great views, great fishing, as well as the surrounding areas.
I look forward to returning
