We have just returned from a fantastic 10 days at Villa Dominica. The villa was beautifully clean on arrival and the mid-point clean was appreciated. The kitchen is well equipped and the outside areas offer a variety of sun and shade.
The roof terrace is amazing - particularly enjoyed in the evenings for star gazing in the coolness
Richard and Treasa were really helpful with local knowledge and any villa questions.
Plenty to see in the local area and the fiat Panda even managed the track to the villa!
We would love to return on day.
Thank you

What a beautiful Villa! Tucked away in a peaceful, secluded area just outside Moncarapacho, the villa was really well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The villa itself is clean and spacious, with a gorgeous pool and surrounding gardens. Can't think of a thing that would make it better other than being there longer! Would definitely return.

Villa Dominico is beautifully situated in a quiet location a couple of miles outside the village of Moncarapacho.
The property is spacious and comfortable with a large kitchen diner, a big garden including a patio and swimming pool. We stayed in February and took advantage of the south facing veranda to soak up some much needed sunshine. Although the evenings were understandably cool the wood burner provided plenty of warmth for the lounge.
The kitchen is well equipped for self catering, though Moncarapacho does host two small supermarkets and several restaurants which while not haute cuisine, provide delicious and reasonably priced food. The Apetit in particular offers excellent Tapas.
Nearby Fuseta has an excellent beach and restaurants while Olhao, Tavira and Loule are all nearby and worth visiting. There are a couple of neighbouring properties to the villa but the blissful peace and quiet was never disturbed. Obviously because of its location, a vehicle is a prerequisite. We would happily return to Villa Dominico.

Amazing villa!! Catered to people with physical disability, arranged for wheelchair to be deliver with contact. Villa was quiet, no neighbours...bliss. Definitely need a car to get surrounding areas and food shopping. Recommend going to Olhao and Fuseta. Will be back again. Thankyou for letting us to stay in your villa x

Our group of 4 stayed at Casa Dominic late August 2023. After each busy day of sight seeing it was a pleasure to return to the home for a swim in the pool and enjoy the sunsets from the roof. We found the home exactly as described and the host responded quickly to any queries. Highly recommended for those wishing for a quiet stay in a private setting.

We had an amazing time at Casa Dominico, a very secluded and quiet place. The children loved the pool and running around the property. We would definitely return.

We had a lovely stay in Moncarapacho. This house is a home away from home with all the equipment you need for a week away.
It’s close enough to all the beaches/attractions whilst being remote enough to have a very relaxing and peaceful time in the hills, with little noise from the outside world.
My son especially loved the swimming pool; cold to start with but you got used to the temperature quickly. I’m sure it probably is warmer in the summer - it was 22 degrees when we were there (Beginning of April).
We really enjoyed our first holiday together abroad and we want to thank the owners for allowing us to use their beautiful home, giving us a chance to relax.
The only thing missing was a cheese-grater!

This is the second time we have stayed at the villa, which I think says a lot. It really is excellent. The property is excellent quality, with a recently updated kitchen. The location is about 20 mins from Olhao, which has a shopping centre, plus Lidl, Aldi etc. Bars, restaurants, boat tours. About 25 mins from Tavira, which is a beautiful old town. There is a local shop where you can get all the necessities in Moncarapacho (7 mins drive via the gravel road, which is a bit bumpy) The property is spacious, clean, good quality and has a nice pool and gardens. The booking process and communication are excellent and timely via the owner Dominic, the property rep/manager Teresa visited 3 times during the visit to check the pool and provided some information we had requested. All in all, another fantastic trip, we would highly recommend!

A cozy and excellent house in a very scenic surroundings - we loved it!!
The pool is perfect located at the terrace with acces to the large and cozy kitchen.
We highly recommend to rent this house - it’s so cozy and also for at great base of daytrips to explore beautiful Algarve.

Sun, swallows and silence.
The villa/bungalow is very spacious - both inside and outside. My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay here, for all of the above. The swallows were a great source of entertainment as they swooped onto the pool's surface for a drink or an insect. We can only imagine the garden looking beautiful in cooler weather, when everything is flowering and not so dry. Both supermarkets offer what's needed for self-catering. We enjoyed meals at Colibri and Antonio - would highly recommend the latter. A great base for exploring whatever you want in the area - everywhere is easily accessible. On arrival and during our stay we needed to contact the local rep(s) who were quick and helpful with their assistance. Highly recommended if you're happy to stay somewhere a bit more 'off-grid', like we do.

Lovely villa in peaceful surroundings.
This was our second visit to Casa Dominica. The villa has had some upgrades including a new bathroom and kitchen, and the wifi is now suburb. The location is peaceful and yet within easy reach of a local shop, restaurants and fantastic beaches . The information in the guide written by Dominic is an invaluable source of information for beaches and restaurants. Thanks again Dominic. We will be back.

Wonderful restful break
Lovely Villa , situated about 10mins drive from very beautiful village about 20 mins from Faro .
A couple of things could be upgraded; sun loungers and covers had seen better days . The Owners representative came up unannounced to get the BBQ out so we could use it . She should not have bothered! Definitely needs replacing.
Everything you needed for cooking and washing was in the Villa .
A new kitchen and two new shower rooms .
Bed and bed linens really need to be of a better quality.
For us as a couple; this was a really wonderful place to come for a relaxing and peaceful stay ; with a beautiful pool .
Please ask the representative to contact the Clients ; before visiting the Villa . Some people value their privacy!
Would definitely return and would recommend (despite a couple of improvements that could be made ) .

Relaxing stay...
This villa is in a fairly undeveloped area with a dirt track of about a mile however this didn't bother us at all. I was made aware the day before we arrived that there was a construction for a new property approx 250 yards from the villa, there is some noise but during our stay this wasn't too bad & didn't impact on the peace we were expecting. The villa is in a good location roughly 20minutes from Tavira which is just lovely.
Inside the villa is spacious & comfortable & very private. It would benefit from some updated bed linen, particularly the pillows & some items of cookware. Although the villa was clean it wasn't spotless and the outside needs some maintenance & possibly an outside pool shower. Nothing that would prevent us from returning though. Teresa was on hand by text if we needed anything and respected our privacy. All in all we had a lovely holiday.

First of all, a big thank you to Treasa & Richard for the excellent written directions from the airport to the supermarket, where we met Richard & he then guided us to the villa. Also, thank you to them both for getting the provisions we requested in advance, for their help during our stay & for keeping the pool so clean. We loved the villa, & could relax in both sun & shade on the terrace overlooking the pool & garden. The beds were comfortable & the air conditioning in the bedrooms useful in the first week. The lounge was cosy in the late evenings when the nights got a bit cooler in the second week. The kitchen had everything one could want & the table well-positioned so that we could see the outside area when the sun was too hot to sit outside at breakfast time! (You’d need to be tall to reach the ceiling fan!). The awning provided just the right amount of extra shade for lunch. Liquid soaps in the bathrooms & kitchen were a nice extra touch, as was the provision of pool towels. If only we could transplant it all to a location a bit nearer Moncarapacho! The rough road was negotiable with care, but longer than I’d anticipated. The village proved to be ideal for us as well, with several restaurants & supermarkets. The nearest supermarket is fine & has adequate parking. Richard recommended the restaurant “A Caravela “, which is in the same block as the supermarket, & we can certainly endorse his recommendation - the food is superb. We can also recommend “Da Ana’ & “O Cortiço” on the square by the church. We couldn’t get over the low prices!

We had a lovely week at Casa Dominica. The house is very relaxing, has a great outside space for eating with BBQ, and a roof top terrace perfect for the early morning sun. Car is essential as the house is at the end of a long rough track. Well located for travelling around the east Algarve with fantastic beaches within 20 minutes drive. We would definitely recommend and would love to return.

Excellent
The villa was everything we hoped for. A beautiful villa in fantastic surroundings, a feeling of remoteness yet only a short drive from amenities. The villa is a good size, the bedrooms are spacious with good (quiet) aircon. The kitchen is adequate, shower rooms are nice, lounge is comfortable but doesn’t have air con. The pool and outside areas are fantastic, in fact our daughters (aged 8 and 5) spent all their time in the pool. From the minute we arrived we felt at home and relaxed. The location is perfect if you want to be away from other people and views are fabulous (as is the lack of light pollution for star gazing), the gravel road was bumpy but fine. Overall we were delighted with the villa, the perfect place to kick back and relax.

Lovely villa near fantastic beaches
We had a lovely week at Casa Dominico. The villa was in a quiet location but near to a decent supermarket for everyday needs, (including fresh bread every day). We didn’t find the road leading to the villa a problem.
Casa Dominico was clean and well- equipped, and the pool was a decent size. We loved looking at the stars with a glass of wine on the roof terrace of an evening.
Teresa - the agent- was wonderful!
The villa’s location is ideal for exploring this beautiful part of Portugal- the beaches were stunning and empty if you walked a few minutes . We found the welcome folder suggestions for good restaurants and beaches really helpful - we followed their advice and they made our stay really easy.
We will definitely return- a week wasn’t long enough. Thank you.

Comfy , relaxing, pretty
This little house was perfect for us, it isn’t a palace, but it was cosy and warm thanks to the log burning stoves in kitchen and lounge and the warm a/c in the bedrooms. The beds were a bit low but very comfy, the showers hot and a good pressure. I loved the garden it was so interesting and so fragrant , the large cactus flower which meets you at the door was amazing . If we are visiting this area again we would definitely stay here , the only negatives are the dirt track leading to the property which was a bit of a challenge for our rental fiat panda 😆 and due to this it would f been nice if there had been a welcome pack with just some bread, ham, milk and water , as we had to go out as soon as we arrived . But like I say we would definitely stay again thank you .

Beautifully tranquil
Loved everything about this villa. It is a spacious bungalow on a large plot of landscaped gardens and provides a lovely pool and sunbathing area. The villa itself is well equipped and provides everything a self caterer requires. We met both Richard and Teressa who manage the property during our short stay and they were both very helpful. We would stay again without hesitation.

Peaceful Retreat
Really enjoyed this week long stay a Casa Dominic in its quiet and peaceful country setting without feeling remote. A car I would suggest is essential as Moncarapacho with its local supermarket is roughly 10 minutes away and quite well stocked. The road leading to the villa after the tarmac is for a short way a little rocky but easy enough to negotiate might be worth if you hire a car getting the additional body insurance cover to avoid accidental stone chips not expensive we only paid 24 euro extra. That apart I couldn't fault what is a natural unspoiled little oasis, great locality where if you want to go to nearby beaches or excellent restaurants in Santa Luzia or Tavira the nearby N125 makes access quick and easy. Richard and Terrasa the property managers assigned to the villa are a great source of local knowledge should you require it and extremely helpful they are lovely people totally sensitive to you holiday privacy. Casa Dominic has much to recommend it.

Lovely villa with pool in rural Portugal
The villa is very well-equipped and has everything you need to cater at home. It was extremely clean and tidy and the gardens were looked after. We liked the off-beat setting; quiet and neighbours just far enough away. Lots to do in the area. Fuseta and Barril beaches are great days out. Perhaps a parasol for use on the beach would be a good idea as rentals are quite pricey for a family. Tavira was a lovely town and the nearby 22 makes access to other towns very easy. We visited Silves which was great for castle and museum fix; try the Hidden Moorish Cafe for tapas and drinks with a stunning view. A really good villa and location for a relaxing holiday and variety of days out.

Wonderfull Villa!!
Our stay at Casa Dominico was wonderful. The villa has everything that we needed during our stay and we were met with a small welcome pack (including a bottle of wine!) which was a nice surprise. The location is rural and as an earlier review mentioned, the last part of the road is unpaved. We had a VW polo as a rental car and it was not a problem at all. The view from the roof terrace is beautiful - a great place to enjoy a morning coffee. If you are looking for an 'away from it all' kind of place, i would definitely recommend Casa Dominico

Peace and quiet location in a beautiful Villa
The Villa is very lovely and being a gardener I loved the surroundings. So many beautiful plants, olive, pomegranate and almond trees with just the cicada song breaking through complete silence. We watched the sun set and rise on the roof terrace and took binoculars for birds. The pool was great and the pool guy was a very nice and freindly. The temp was around 30 all week so it was pretty hot so the pool was a real blessing. I couldn't get the internet to work for me all week and ran out of data in the first 24hrs but after a couple of days I didn't really care. There was a full mobile coverage anyway in case. We ate 'at home' every day and had a few BBqs, popping into Moncarapacho daily (mainly for Pastel de nata...nom nom). Facilities were all good inside and out. The flowers were so colorful against the blue blue sky I would love it see it earlier in the season with even more flowers. So maybe next time! Thank you guys it was brilliant.

Lovely rustic villa in great peaceful location
We had a tremendous week here and would definitely go back as this part of Portugal really is a true hidden gem. The people we met were very friendly and helpful and we were made most welcome.
The villa is set a mile or so from the peaceful town of Moncarapacho and gives you a great place to wind down after a day out exploring the region. We loved the tranquility of the countryside that surrounded the villa and our son was never out of its own well looked after private pool. The owner went out of his way to ensure our stay was was relaxing; nothing seemed any trouble.
Infact the only very minor niggle we had was the last half mile or so of road leading to the house which is a little stony and uneven so a a little care is required negotiating it, but to be honest, we managed a week running up and down it in a small mini car so it shouldn't present too much of a problem.
All in all, a characterful place that's slightly off the beaten track but gives one the chance to live the real Portugal. Highly recommended.

Best villa holiday for family of four
Here is my summary of our stay at the villa
1. Beautiful villa decorated like a home rather than a rental accommodation, plenty of daily use items and very well equipped.
2. Very quiet and peaceful, you can enjoy total privacy with no interruption of any man made noise, but at the same time, you can make noise without worry others to complaint.
3. Convenient access to shops, shopping items are cheap compares to many larger stores, except sun cream, we enjoyed pretty of sea food and fishes during our stay, drinks are very cheap compares to UK, with many good quality wines.
4. Friendly and efficient agent Elizabeth who is always very prompt in answer my queries and solve any problems I raised against the villa.
5. Great white sandy beach near by with plenty of options to explore the surrounding areas make this sun holiday filled with fun.
6. Weather in Portugal during our stay was perfect, 7 days of unspoiled clear blue sky, temperature range between 35-40. Did a lot swimming and sun bathing, lovely
7. Wi-Fi is provided, but struggles to support 4 devices to use at the same time, may be install a booster can help the bandwidth.

Great Villa, strongly recommended
This was our first time visiting Portugal and we thoroughly loved it. Our flight out was delayed by over an hour due to "technical difficulties with a cargo hold door" then there was a long wait in the car hire office due to their systems being down so by the time we left Faro airport it was dark, Dominic provided us with the co-ordinates for the SatNav but neither my own SatNav nor the one in the car could find the location so we headed for Moncarapacho and called Elizabeth, Dominic's agent in Portugal at 10pm on a Sunday evening, Elizabeth in turn had Anna-Maria the housekeeper come and find us and guide us to the house. As it turned out we were all of five minutes away but being in the dark it was impossible to know which way to go. Once there though it was worth the trouble, the villa is a lovely retreat away from the mad, mad world and is an absolute credit to Anna-Maria as it was spotlessly clean. Once we had established our bearings the house is ideally located for visiting everything that the Eastern Algarve has to offer. Strongly recommended and we will definitely be back. One word of advice take a SatNav if you go and hire a 4x4 type vehicle due to the nature of the road leading up to the house.

HOLIDAYS JUST DON'T GET BETTER THAN THIS!
I booked this holiday during a somewhat traumatic period in my life last year and I have to say it was a bit of a shot in the dark. I'd never used Owners Direct before, but the photo's and the reviews looked good so I thought, "Oh, just go for it!"
I'm so, so glad I did!
We took the ferry from Portsmouth to Bilbao and drove down to the villa which is a fantastic experience in itself. As other reviewers have correctly mentioned it is accessed down a dusty unmade track but having studied the maps and Google Earth, we were prepared for that and the coordinates provided by Dominic took us straight to the door and Elizabeth's instructions that, "The key's under the mat!" proved to be spot on too.
Casa Dominico is well appointed with everything that is listed on the web site. We found it spotlessly clean with fresh linen and scrumptious towels.
Elizabeth had arranged, as requested, a welcome pack of food in the fridge which I recommend asking Dominic to arrange for you. Just let him know what you think you may need and the cost is taken out of your breakages deposit.
The pool is the icing on the cake! When we arrived, the Algarve were experiencing the hottest September temperatures for 85 years. With the car thermometer reading 45 degrees it was bliss just to jump in. The pool lights were not working which was a bit disappointing, but Elizabeth was aware.
There is a book listing good places to eat though with nowhere within walking distance, we tended to cook in the villa so you will need to look to other reviewers for recommendations for that.
Moncarapacho has two good small supermarkets where you can get all your essentials. For a more comprehensive shop, Tavira, 20 minutes away has a large shopping mall which includes a Continente 'hypermarket' which is well signposted as you enter the town.
What we enjoyed most about the villa was its isolated location and with the exception of aircraft on their approach to Faro airport, the peace and quiet. Perfect for relaxing and winding down.
As with any location in a hot climate, insects can be an issue. Here at Casa Dominico it was ants in the kitchen. We finally got on top of the problem after four or five days with a good ant killing aerosol from the village hardware store, so be prepared.
Communication with Dominic before and with the run up to the holiday was excellent and the same with Elizabeth (the local agent) whilst there.
Would I recommend the villa? Well, we're going back!

Relaxing holiday
We had a lovely relaxing holiday at the villa. It was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed We particularly enjoyed the pool from an early morning swim to swimming under the stars at night. There was plenty of space to sit on the terrace and enjoy the sun. We also appreciated the quiet location of the villa after having a stressful period leading up to our holiday. . To get to the villa there is a non-tarmacked road so the driving is slow .We were able to drive to Moncarapacho in about 10 minutes (approx. half of this is on the non-tarmacked road. From Moncarapacho there was easy access to the A22 making it a good base to travel around. Our contact with Dominic and Elizabeth was good making booking easy, especially as we booked so late.We also want to say a big thank you to Elizabeth for sending out the 'rescue party' when we got lost arriving at the villa in the dark. I am afraid we are 'dinosaurs' when it come to technology and had never found anywhere using SAT NAV co-ordinates before(we have always used post codes or good old fashioned maps back in the UK) . When it was day light we realised we had only been 3 minutes away at a villa called Casa Domingo rather than Casa Dominico. We are really sorry to have had to get someone out to help us and have now learnt how to use SAT NAV co-ordinates!

Pleasant stay at Casa Dominico
We had a wonderful stay at the villa. The villa is situated situated at a gravel road within easy reach of Moncarapacho. This village has all the facilities you need (some lovely restaurants too). The house is well equiped and has a lovely pool. The A22 motorway and also local roads are easy to reach from Moncarapacho. We travelled daily by using local roads and the A22 to discover the south part of The Algarve.
Tavira, Praya Verde, Sao Bras, Loulé are beautifull places to visit.
