The space
We travel often for both work and family vacations with 2 young children, and have tons of experience as guests in VRBOs and hotels. From these experiences, we bought and renovated this home as a full-time vacation rental with all the little details we expect (yet have often found missing in other places). Basically, we created our dream VRBO vacation stay that is suitable for both adults and families with children.
We have lovingly renovated and furnished this house. It is located on a small hill in the heart of the Massanutten Resort with gorgeous views of the mountains and backs up to the George Washington National Forest. You'll wake up to the sunrise illuminating the mountains, then watch the sun slowly fall behind the mountains as night comes.
We are new to hosting but are confident you will enjoy our vacation home. We love escaping to the peace and calm of the Shenandoah Valley. Get comfortable sitting in the Adirondack chairs on the spacious deck enjoying the marvelous views of the tree-lined mountains, or enjoy relaxing in our dual living rooms with large screen TVs. The kitchen is fully stocked with all you’ll need to cook at home.
Kids are always welcome. Just let us know who you're bringing so we can accommodate (need the high chair or pack n' play? Let us know!).

On the entry level is a kids playroom with toys and a couch that turns into a queen size bed (pillows and linens are available). Also downstairs is a bonus room with a Pottery Barn queen bed and goose down comforter.

The house was comfortable, clean and perfect for our multigenerational group.

This is a beautiful home with ample room for families. The setting is gorgeous, and there are many available activities nearby. Highly recommended for a laid back peaceful vacation.

We had a great stay at KinStay! From the seamless check-in and checkout process to Matt's prompt and attentive communication, every aspect of our experience was stress-free. The property itself was well-equipped to cater to all our needs, making it a perfect fit for our family. The kid-friendly features and playroom were an added bonus. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a hassle-free and enjoyable stay.

A five star stay all around. Large, well-provisioned, comfortable house close to the National Park for a weekend of family hiking and cooking. Great communication with the owner and would highly recommend staying here.

Three generations enjoyed a wonderful New Year's. Celebration. House was well equipped. Children loved the playroom. Adults loved watching football on large TV. Best part, it snowed.

Had plenty of space for our family and lots of amenities. The dishwasher and laundry were helpful for a large family. The younger kids enjoyed having the playroom as they couldn’t go skiing with the older kids.
The only real drawback for us was the driveway and parking pad. We brought a truck and a suburban and found the driveway tricky to maneuver both vehicles in for parking. It can be done. But it wasn’t ideal for me. If you have cars or small SUVS, probably won’t have any issue parking.
Check-in and check-out were super easy. And the property was quiet, clean and convenient.

Home is comfortable and has most everything you could think of to feel like home. We did a little shopping to have food in the house, but didnt have to buy things like salt, seasonings, oil or even syrup. Our cars were packed to the gills so the toy room was a godsend for our toddler granddaughter and grandma got to remember her teen years playing centipede on the arcade style video game machine!
Host was super responsive when we couldn't figure out the fireplace and gave us a call to walk us through it.
The Christmas tree was a great touch!

Property was clean, very well stocked! The resort offered plenty of activities to keep the entire family busy and enjoying the beauty of the area! We plan to return

The house does have a steep driveway. Plenty of room for our family. Downstairs was really cold, not sure why? The view from the top deck was amazing. We visit the area annually and will keep the property in mind for our next year stay..

Our stay at Matt’s home in Massanutten was nothing short of wonderful. The home was exactly how it was described. It was extremely clean and well cared for. It had all the amenities needed and more. One thing my family all agreed on was how comfortable each and every bed was. The area where the home is located is beautiful and easily accessible to so many attractions. Matt was a wonderful host. He replied quickly to any questions I may have had and also checked in to see if we settled in ok. I highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the area. You will not be disappointed.

We surprised my mom for her 80th Birthday by having the family meet in the middle (kind of) and spend the weekend with her. Six of us arrived a day earlier to decorate, get settled and put away some groceries. She was so thrilled to see everyone and just loved the location and the house. Her favorite thing about the house was the view from the deck. She sat out there every chance she got to enjoy the beautiful view. Of course we joined her to take in the scenery. The house was perfect for us, separate floors for the grown grandchildren and adults upstairs. Prior to the weekend, anytime I had a question, Matt responded almost immediately. His recommendations for places to eat, the bakery we used and things to do were awesome! We all had a great time and will be sure to recommend the house to friends. When we celebrate another family event, we will be staying there! Thank you Matt for letting us stay at your property!

Our two families had plenty of room to spread out and relax between our day trips into Shenandoah National Park. The kitchen and grill were great for many large meals. There were plenty of dishes and flatware for a large group. The beds were some of the most comfortable I’ve had in a short term rental. The decks were great, both for morning coffee and a beverage at the end of the day. We had one question about the property and Matt was great about responding quickly with exactly the information we needed. I would recommend staying here if in the area.

Spent the weekend at this perfect home up in the mountains with my family. It was just the recharge we all needed. Very clean and just as pictured. The trash can situation is less than desirable, but I get it, we’re on a mountain.

The house has a great layout for a family stay. The host was very responsive. We enjoyed eating meals on the deck with the beautiful view. The kitchen wad stocked with a good variety of cooking implements, allowing us to make nice meals in. It was in a great spot near the water park. The shuffleboard was an unexpected hit with the kids.

The whole process was smooth and convenient! The house is beautiful and accommodated the 6 adults staying there with ease. The house was clean and fully stocked with kitchenware. I was really impressed that the kitchen even had a crockpot. The game room was a lot of fun and good times were spent down there as a family. The resort the house is located on provides a lot of activities for the family! The owners were attentive and available if we needed anything. Thank you for sharing your beautiful vacation home with us!

This home is a home away from home. They had everything you can ask for. My family and I are already thinking about coming back for my birthday weekend in October.

The host was wonderful and the amenities great, especially the play room and fun games! 5 stars for each category but overall a 4 because of the steep driveway -- jockeying cars at the top made coming and going a bit of a challenge. With that said, I'd recommend vacationing here!

The cabin was just as described. The location within the resort was very good for alot of the activities we were interested in doing. The cabin, itself, was very comfortable, except that the bathrooms were a wee bit small, but fine and stocked with essentials. Overall the cabin was just the right size for the 8 of us, 6 adults and 2 teenagers. All the amenties and supplies were sufficient. We were glad that there was a gas grill. The property owner, Mart, was very respondive to our emails and had the place in good condition for our arrival. Thanks to Matt for providing a great place to dtay for a family vacation.

When we walked in, I was so pleasantly surprised by how lovely everything was. The comfy couch upstairs the very fun game room downstairs…it was great! The heat was locked when we arrived, but it was fixed by morning. The downstairs stayed pretty cold but the space heaters worked miracles and kept everyone comfortable. We had a lot of fun and there was plenty of room for everyone. I would definitely stay here again!

This was a great property! It was in a residential area, quiet neighborhood, which we enjoyed. The property manager has thought out the needs of people staying there. Some things that would be missing at other VRBO properties, we found here, like lots of cookware in the kitchen and shampoo and conditioner. I messaged the property owner a few times, and he got back to me almost immediately. We would highly recommend this property and a visit to the area!

We were very pleased with the property during our stay. The house is spacious, clean, well-stocked, and in a great proximity to the amenities at Massanutten. We had activities scheduled over a couple of days at the resort and it was really nice being so close. The kids loved the setup downstairs with the games and we really loved the openness of the upstairs and kitchen. It was really nice having beds already made and towels available. Communication with the host was also great!

The cabin was the perfect location to spend our pre-Christmas celebrations with our children and grandchildren. All the extras were much appreciated and Matt was wonderful to work with. He was quick to answer any questions I had. The highlight of our trip was the shuffleboard. It brought out the competitive side of the adults which provided many laughs and many fond memories were made. We would stay again. Thank you again Matt for everything.

Had all we needed for a memorable weekend getaway. The home is so welcoming--nothing has been overlooked at this rental. Kids loved the games and playroom. Being able to bring the pup was an added bonus. Matt was a great host-communication was fast and check in/out a breeze. We're sure to return!

6 of my friends and I got together for the weekend. The property got great reviews from all of us. Location was good for easy access to food and Harrisonburg for homecoming foot ball game. Some difficulty finding out how to watch what we wanted on TV.

What a great place. Everything was as described and the flexibility and communication with the owner was superb.
The view of the mountains is breathtaking and I can only imagine how pretty it is when the leaves turn.

We had such a wonderful stay here. The cabin was perfect and had everything we needed to enjoy a quiet weekend in the mountains including games, a grill, beautiful deck with outdoor seating, large tv, and a very cozy couch! The kitchen was also fully stocked and there was no shortage of blankets, towels, pillows, etc... The views from the deck are stunning and the location can't be beat. It is very close to amazing hiking trails through the mountains, other outdoor activities, breweries, and wineries. And (importantly) Matt was a very gracious, accommodating host, and he is incredibly communicative. I definitely recommend staying here, and we will be back!

This house was absolutely perfect for an extended family getaway! The home is spotless, spacious, and in a great neighborhood. The kids loved the playroom and video games. My elderly father enjoyed the quiet and scenery. We all loved taking walks to the pond and around the neighborhood, we saw a ton of deer! The home provided everything we needed to cook meals, hang out, relax, and have fun!
