First off…our family did have a great time at this property. The location is perfect and being on the water with the huge dock was awesome! We also the loved upper and lower waterfront decks. The hosts were so nice and so responsive. There was an issue as soon as we arrived that he came to the house and we were able to discuss. Having said that, the inside is in need of repair. The living room furniture is very dated and doesn’t look clean. The carpet is need of removal or replacement. The dishwasher didn’t work and the TV didn’t work. We stayed 2 nights and there was only one towel per person. Only 2 kitchen towels in the entire house and no washer/dryer. The kitchen didn’t have enough coffee cups or plates for how many people the house could sleep. The outdoor chairs on the lower deck are in need of being thrown away. Thankfully we had our own bag chairs in the car. The grill that is advertised is not in working order and is barely standing. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms are really nice and large although lacking proper lighting. The house could be so nice. There definitely needs to be some serious TLC on the inside. Stocking the kitchen with more dishes, maybe a pizza pan, pizza cutter, etc and more towels throughout would be a good start. Not sure what we would have done if we had stayed longer with no more towels and no way to wash the ones we had. We all feel like we spent way more on this rental than it was worth.

It was obvious the house was in need of professional work, DIY was very obvious. This four bedroom house that sleeps 11 only had three forks. The kitchen was very sparse, but large. It was a good the store was close that we were able to stock up on plastic and paper products. Unfortunately, this was our Thanksgiving meal with the family. However, the space was large with a beautiful backdrop.

The draw of this property is the dock and you cannot even hear the road noise from the back. Unfortunately, the renovations are incomplete, the interior lighting is abysmal, and the deck is unwalkable due to the bird poop. If the owners power wash the deck, clean/replace the sofa, replace the kitchen flooring, and add more interior lighting - this place can shine.

The original address we opted for while booking on June 10 2023 was something and
Then on July 21 morning around 7 AM , I received an email saying that the original property which I chose would not be available and another option would be available. And at this instance, me and my friend's family were already on the way and in no ideal situation to take a look at the alternate property wisely. We had taken a lot of effort choosing the first property keeping kids and families in mind.
The description in vrbo claims that it has a waterfront deck open and shareable. But when we took our kids to the deck especially to the long boardwalk, we noticed it was shaky and broken(as attached).
And also , there were issues like the bathroom located near the kitchen did not have the latch for closing it from inside.
There were no porch lights, it becomes even worse when we are having toddlers.
The location had an image of the extended walk on to the bay. When we wanted to go to the deck another person didn’t allow us and told its his property.
We did not find basic kitchen groceries I.e. salt, sugar, etc which usually we get after check in.
The master bedroom bathroom didn’t have a latch.
There were parking issues.
There was wrong charges charged to my card while booking and I was told that would be refunded immediately after check out but it had been now more than couple of weeks but no refund is processed.

The inside was huge and beautiful. All of the bedrooms were big. The master bedroom upstairs was perfect and loved the master bathroom as well. Definitely would stay again.

House was nice, looks like the owner is making some improvements. A Washer & Dryer would be nice. Also would recommend more the one dish towel for the kitchen and maybe extra bath towels in the closet. The place has a lot of room. The bedroom had sliding doors that open onto a second deck overlooking the bay. It was beautiful at night. The kitchen is large which makes it great when your cooking the whole time you are away. The best thing was fishing and crabbing off the pier. Over all we had a great time and would recommend this place to stay. Communication with Kathleen was great, she answered all my question.

My family did an extended weekend at this property. Brought the boat down and tied it up at the dock for the stay. We used the public boat ramp which was just down the street, in walking distance, and a very nice ramp. The pier/dock at the house is sturdy with enough tie off points to secure boat (we have a 21'). you could tie off multiple boats if needed. Plenty of water to get in and out, even at low tide. Close to Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel which offers excellent fishing. We caught a few fish off the dock as well. This would be a prefect property for a guys (or gals) get-a-way fishing trip! We also enjoyed swimming off of the dock; bottom is sand, not all muddy and yucky like some places.
House if very spacious, lots of room, comfortable. Enough off-street parking for 4 vehicles. There is also a marina 2 doors down which features a restaurant and small bar (Willoughby Fish House). You can also enjoy a free air show from the Naval Base across the water. Not quiet but cool to watch. We could hear base play the National Anthem in the AM, reveille, and retreat. Lots of cosmetic defects but everything functional. If they fixed all the cosmetic defects and made a few simple upgrades (better grill, permanent ladder on pier, added a washer/dryer, fish cleaning station,) , they could double or triple the price. This is a bargain for a waterfront property with a dock on navigable water. I would defiantly stay here again (especially at this price point).

The house was not kid friendly. Looks like nobody cares about the home or property. Dock Not safe
The house was very dirty. Not what we wanted at all.
A local neighbor let their pit bull loose and the dog ran onto the front of the house and attacked my dog. My dog is now in surgery. I am beyond pissed off and I demand a partial refund. The description of the property in the home was a complete joke on the website.

Our family very happy with our vacation. We definitely look forward to have this house next year first if possible.

Nice
Everything was good other than the beeping refrigerator the ice maker not dispensing ice, not hot water in the master upstairs tub and no hot water in the other upstairs shower on our last night.

Do not stay here- the house is not as advertised!!!
The online pictures of his properties sure make it seem much more acceptable than what it is (I’d say they were taken many years ago). The house is very run down with patched holes in the ceiling walls that need to be repainted boards pulled up and missing on the deck, the dock is in need of repair and the entire house smelled moldy! The front door actually has a board across it in the inside!!?? Not to mention there is a Boarded up and abandon house directly next-door that seems very sketchy and appears to have people living in it despite looking in livable. It is a terrible eye sore and made the area feel unsettling. The whole area and house need a lot of attention and are unsafe. We walked in and left within 10 minutes and did not stay. The host never offered anything to make it right!! I would not recommend this house or host at all. I wish I could post pictures of what it really looks like!

Read the reviews and believe them. I wish I did.
I relied heavily on these reviews. Host had seemed to have all the right answers in response to the negative reviews. Location was good & the 4 stars seemed enough, esp when our options were running out. Things to note: Front door had a board across it to cover a hole. There are many things like this that were unfinished/could easily be replaced/repaired but instead neglected. Upon entering, you smell the animal urine & mildew. I immediately message host to which she responds that she can get someone to clean the carpet the next day. We didn't want to be bothered during vacation so we declined. We knew this place was “pet friendly”. But what we didn’t know was that there was a pet fee as it wasn’t in the initial details. It’s in there now and we understood the need, especially after experiencing the smell right away. I immediately told her we had our dogs to which she invoiced me $99. I asked her if we could use Venmo as the Vrbo app was acting funny. My sister mistakenly sent her $300 via Venmo. My sister has yet to see the 200 reimbursement for this overpayment and to these messages, she has become silent. This was 2 weeks ago. Please note that I have not asked for a refund or a discount on this stay. I merely asked for the overpayment. Other things she has responded to: recommendations to restaurants, where we can get beach umbrellas, & some recommendations she had when the lights and the electrical outlet went out in the 2nd floor bathroom. We weren’t able to get the lights to work per her recommendations to check the breakers. Here are other things to note: exposed wires in most bedrooms, hardened foam product on things like broken tiles, wood, and carpet holes. Gnat and flies everywhere despite putting food away. No outside furniture. No washer/dryer. No curtains in bathrooms. Warped deck planks. Rain leaked through 1st fl bedroom window, enough to wake my sister in her sleep. I support small business owners but not at the expense of my family and when it risks putting other families at risk as well. The sad part is, most of these are easy fixes. Choose wisely, read all reviews. If you do choose to stay here, come equipped and mentally prepared to be disappointed. Bring air fresheners, cleaning supplies, house slippers & bug repellant. Lots of safety issues & I would not recommend for families with small kids, allergies, and pets. Pros? Location, sunset, & beach was close. We had a great time being together but we learned our lesson.

Great dock
We stayed the week of 7/3 and had a good time. The house is definitely in need of updates/repairs from the front door to the walls, the rugs, broken chairs, excessively chipped tiles in the kitchen, etc. The house sleeps 10 yet there are only 7 plates, very limited small pots and pans (we went to Walmart and bought large pots/frying pan). I was also disappointed that with 2 large decks overlooking the bay, there is no outside patio furniture. Luckily we had brought some chairs with us. And the abandoned house right next door (literally 5 ft away) was creepy but in the end had no impact on our stay. I did not see one bug, critter, mouse, etc the whole week.
Overall we had a good week and enjoyed hanging out with our family. The house served it purpose even if it wasn’t perfect. Oh, the beds are super comfy. And the local beach a few blocks away was a peaceful and serene place to relax.

Family vacation
Overall it was a great house! Minor bumps such has upper balcony has a lifted board with nails, bedroom downstairs windows leaked, as it rained our last day that side of the room was completely soaked. If you love nature this is the place for you! We found shells that actually ended up being HERMIT CRABS! Which was very cool to experience, everyday we stayed we found new animals ! From the hermit crabs, jelly fish to the different crabs/fish caught off the private dock! It's across from the naval base, we were able to see them train on the planes and water. Would definitely recommend, passing the minor issues!

This was the worst stay ever
I would like too start by saying that I was disappointed by seeing there was an abandoned home next too the property that was an eye sore from the start, there were waste cans outside of home but not our home, As soon as I walked into the house I was stepping on bugs as we proceeded too inspect the house it there was pet hair on the furniture and the children mentioned seeing a bug on the furniture, the kitchen floors were awful and the ice maker on the refrigerator didn’t work, and the owner only provided two very cheap trash bags for the waste container. The home looks as if it’s being renovated the floors were in horrible condition painting was awful with scratches and filthy looking, not too mention the lighting was bad in a lot of areas, there was only one television in the home, the WiFi was awful which made keeping the kids entertained awful knowing that the beach was not in walking distance, the tubs were filthy with hair and dust, also the carpets were dirty awful the patio and the deck also was not up to par and was unleveled and coming up in some areas. I would not recommend anyone too rent this property and expect it too be as shown by the owners

Nice Place
I stayed in this property and it was nice. The accommodations were more than sufficient. Had to leave due to complications that arose when I wasn’t at the property but the homeowners were nice and the home was beautiful .

Short Family Getaway
This location is perfect for families, plenty of beds and baths to accommodate everyone, very spacious and relaxing. We took our boat and were able to dock it for the weekend and come and go as we pleased without having to take it out of the water till checkout. Btw, it's a block from the ramp which is a Huge Plus! We enjoyed our stay and plan on booking again, Ty!

Great place
Needed a place to stay while moving out of my house. Had plenty of room for me and my family and a few friends to enjoy a pleasant night on the water without the hustle and bustle of the VB Oceanfront. Wasy check-in, clear instructions from owner for their expectations. Great place!

Still needs work
The house was clean, the furniture and appliances were newer, the deck and porch were gorgeous; but to say that the owners “completed a full renovation” is not quite true. I have no doubt that they did a lot of work, but at the time of our stay (2/28-3/1) the renovations were not complete. There was unfinished wood in the living room ceiling and the decorative posts around the supports were able to be spun. The downstairs bathroom (not a true master as the bathroom is off a hallway) was rough it had an unfinished closet, the toilet and sink were old (the sink was cracked) There was no curtain on the bathroom window at ground level. The front door needs A LOT of help, air and noise flow freely in and the window could just be pushed out of the door if someone wanted to. There are several areas of spray foam insulation spilling out of cracks and crevices. The floor in the kitchen is rough with chips, and cracks. Upstairs there was no heat, just what flowed up from the downstairs, I don’t think it would be air conditioned either. The “soaking tub” had no plug, making it pretty much useless.
Communication with the owner was sparse. We had to request the address and access code late in the morning of the day we were to arrive. Her reply was “forgive me for the delay my coffee was interrupted this morning”. Ok. When we let them know we had checked out there was no communication back acknowledging that they received our
It was an ok place to spend a night or two for a weekend getaway when not spending much time at the house, but it was not in the condition we expected based on the description.

mouse infestation
I am still waiting for both VBRBO and the owner to respond to my recent communications.. The property was advertised as recently renovated. a more accurate description would be renovation in progress.. The bedroom closet smelled of mold and mildew. We had several sighting of mice in several rooms and my son and wife were asleep and woke up with three mice on their pillow!!!! I provided photographic evidence of the problems including the mice and they still haven't replied or addressed my problem. There were many more problems but these seem to be the worst.
