My wife and our four children were in the area for a wedding weekend. Location was great. The living room and dining room were spacious, the kids loved the bunk beds upstairs, and the decor was fun. The house had a really nice bathroom/shower.

The place was pretty unique with abundant taxidermy and other strange and interesting decor items. The kitchen could use more and better quality equipment. Firewood was not provided and the wood burning stove wasn’t airtight so the house got fairly smokey. The beds were terribly uncomfortable either totally spartan and firm or sunken heat traps. The staff was responsive and respectful. Overall, with a little optimism, our stay was good, and if nothing else, we all had a good laugh about it!

We enjoyed our stay here.

Beautiful spacious property, but still felt so cozy; poor kitchen/dining amenities/equipment, but great stove/oven. Beautiful floors, lovely lofted ceiling and open concept, perfect home away from home for a small family retreat. Great response from property managers when issues arose, no issues with wifi/reception. Wonderful getaway, a dream come true (I cried when we had to leave and go 'back to reality' the last morning)!

There's plenty of room and space. My Step-Mom loved it here and our two dogs too! We would definitely stay here again.

The property was very nice and relaxing all in all. I do have a few minor complaints. The fridge didn’t stay very cold, the average tempt was about 50 degrees. The shower curtain liner was pretty filthy, cheap fix. And lastly, the outside of the house is covered in wasps nests, that was a little unnerving. Other than that, our stay was great! The house was very spacious & clean upon arrival.

This place has all the big and little things that makes up the Adirondacks. Not only does it give the place the authentic look it is, but also offers a historical background of it’s history. Absolutely amazing. Had everything we needed.

The property itself is private and quiet. Great for an isolated get away. It was darker inside than the pictures would lead you to believe. Very nice that it's dog friendly, but your dog may be alarmed by all the taxidermy on the wall (ours was at first). Lots of great outdoors activities around, and great views of the mountains. Not too many places to eat, but the Stewarts in Inidan lake has most of what you might need while there. Enjoyed our stay and the adirondak beauty.

Adirondacks
Nice setting but tricky to find so nice to have the specific directions. Needed to rewash some dishes before using but generally clean. Not enough kitchen towels to do dishes by hand for a full week but had extra hand towels available. Some parts of the kitchen were a little under stocked - for example, the forks were all just the teeny tiny baby forks. Beds were pretty hard, the downstairs bed was particularly uncomfortable. Really enjoyed the wood burning stove.

Adirondack profile
It is exactly what you imagine when you think Adirondack lodge.
kitchen could use a little TLC drawers ,fridge, utensils . All the furniture is turned away from the wood burning stove and flammable stuff is too close (magazine rack) chairs and decorations. did not use the wood stove didn't feel right.

Charming Adirondack Stay!
We had such a lovely experience! The home had everything we needed and was comfortable to spend an afternoon in when we had some rain. Would definitely recommend and would stay here again.

Wonderful stay
We had a great stay at the cabin, it was clean, well kept and comfortable. Our only complaint would be that there was less than a full roll of toilet paper at the cabin and the screen door did not close all the way by the end of our stay. Looks like the wood may be rotting and the screws are backing out of the trim. Great stay nonetheless.

Cool cabin
This cabin is nestled in a very quiet private location. Inside the cabin feels like a museum. Many very interesting antiques, artifacts and deco of nature. You see something new everyday. Who ever decked out the place did a fabulous job! It was pretty clean and organized. Although the refrigerator door needs to be repaired. When we got there the floor was a bit flooded and we had to empty the crisper bins that were full of water. You have to push the “bottom” of the door or it will create water and not keep the food cold. With 4 -5 people it becomes a nuisance. The bedroom on lower level needs a shade. There was a full moon that beamed through the window right on my face for about 3 hours. Couldn’t block it with sheers. I was amazed at how much brighter the moon is in the mountains. One more thing, the grass was a bit tall when we got there and the bugs were relentless. Black flies and ticks like the high grass. I was bit by 2 ticks. We decided to mow the lawn and it was much better. Good thing they had a mower there. If The fridge is fixed and a shade is put in the bedroom we would definitely stay here again.

Restful
This home was a perfect getaway. The decor was beautiful, the home was clean, and the outdoor space was quiet.

Very nice clean cabin with everything you need.
I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it had cable tv.The only source of tv is roku or DVD’s and that’s a huge downfall when you can’t watch tv for 9 days also the keys that open the cabin did not work well the door was difficult to open and only one key worked. With a few minor fixes the place would get a 4 or 5 star rating from me.

The Bear Lodge was the perfect home for my families weekend stay in Indian Lake. It was sparkling clean upon checkin, filled with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. It was pin drop quiet and very private for evening fires and star gazing. Beds were very comfortable and warm. The kitchen was fully stocked with all equipment and a nice grill for cooking. The Lodge was very unique with the walls full of interesting trinkets and critters. I highly recommend this stay. Thank you very much to The Bear Lodge and Vacasa for making our weekend getaway the most enjoyable.

Unique beautiful home , convenient location
We loved everything about the house , it is so unique almost like a museum of a sort. Many antique items, and interesting books about The region, cabin life, fishing and hunting. The kitchen is well equipped , no dishwasher though , but it’s ok. One recommendation is that the old fridge be replaced or fixed, unless you press really hard on the door to keep it shut very tight, the fridge will start to accumulate water in the bottom and leak, so just something to look out for. The beds are comfortable, overall clean house. The yard around the house is gorgeous and very private. Town of indian lake is 10 min away, it has restaurants, gas, laundromat ( that we used a few times as there’s no washing machine inside the house). There are a few lakes very close by, and abundance of hiking trails. Overall great stay, very relaxing and away from it all, and the regional manager was extremely pleasant and helpful in all aspects.
Another recommendation would be to invest in better garbage storage bins outside. The existing bin has a broken lid and squirrels got in and ripped through all the bags multiple times.

pretty good but could be super
The location was beautiful and pretty easy to get to. There are a few minor things that could make this property really great. There were a number of light bulbs out in and outside of the home, there was no carafe for the coffee maker, and a new shower curtain liner, quick and easy and the stay would have been much better. The one major item the owner might want to consider is a new mattress downstairs it is very broken down and even hard to get out of once you lay down.

Skiing at Gore Mountain
Great time with my sons, but the place needed to be cleaned upon our arrival. There was garbage from the last renter and the woodstove was loaded with ashes. Also got stuck at end of driveway when we got back from Gore, as the plow service never showed up until the next day. Other than that, very nice and unique place in a beautiful setting.
