The apartment was amazing and extremely close to Redwood park. They had all the amenities and the home was clean and tidy. Howeve, we had one issue that Expedia website shows that this is a 2 bathroom house, but one of them was just a half bathroom which was not mentioned anywhere. This was a big inconvenience for us because we were group of 6 people who had to share 1 bathroom for showers.

Favorite things were the view of the mountains, and the proximity to Redwood parks. We traveled South to the Ave of Giants & North to Jedidiah Smith for hikes. This place was a very comfortable, central location for our adventures. The furniture was comfortable- the bed configuration worked for us. We had 2 84 year-olds with us, so a lower entry shower would have caused less anxiety, but it all worked out great. It was nice to have extra chairs & we packed the cooler one day for a picnic on the road. We built a fire in the pit out back and kept track of the cows in the pasture across the way. We saw hummingbirds everyday, quail frequently. Great home base!

Loved the location! While there aren’t amenities in Orick, Trinidad is an easy drive and had great food and a grocery store. We also loved how easy it was to get to the redwoods (awesome trails just 10 mins away) and the beach down the dirt road.
We were surprised that one of the bedrooms is upstairs in a converted attic — that wasn’t obvious from the listing. It’s up some steel stairs, with a door down at the bottom of a hallway. Wouldn’t recommend kids or elderly use that room.

It’s amazing to be out among the farms, and the drive down the street a little ways and be at the beach! The house had all of the amenities and quality furniture and cookware. So much space so my family of 5 could spread out, but also great living space where we could hang out together. Great proximity to 101 so we could head out to see the redwoods.

The house is beautiful. Lots of amenities and thoughtful touches. Very convenient to Redwood hikes and activities. Peaceful getaway. Agree with other reviews to bring some food as it is far from restaurants and groceries, but that just gave us a chance to enjoy some home cooked meals together. Would definitely recommend!

This property is spacious and beautiful! I would not hesitate to book again! We found that the beach was not walkable, but close to drive to. The bikes had flat tires so that was a bummer. The location was great for checking out the Redwood State and National Parks.
This information does not affect my recommendation to book this property! I highly recommend you book it! However, just as an FYI, bring all your groceries— including spices, condiments, laundry detergent (if you need to do laundry) and tin foil/baggies/saran wrap with you when you come. The kitchen is fully stocked with kitchen cookware etc. but nothing else. Again, I am not saying this property should provide these items, but I just want to help future guests. Also, there isn’t a store close by to run and grab something.

This house was absolutely wonderful. The location is like something out of a storybook. You drive by a farm to get there, and the porch has a view of the cows in the field, yet it is totally private. There are mountains around the house and we watched the clouds clear out of the redwoods as the day went by. The kids played croquet on the lawn and loved the ping pong. The house is decked out with so much wonderful furniture. There are couches and soft chairs, tables and lamp everywhere, it gives is a really comfortable homey feel. There are plenty of places to set your backpacks and hang your purse, jacket, etc. It's a really roomy house and we all felt like we had private space to rest. There is a sunroom with a super comfortable daybed that was lovely to lounge on. There are a ton of great books and games. It is right in the Redwood forest and getting to Tall Tree Grove trailhead, which we went there to hike, was convenient and a beautiful drive. The nearest grocery store is far away, so plan accordingly. We would love to stay here again and again!

Came up here to visit the redwoods and simply get away from the city. This place was great for both. Multiple redwood parks within an easy drive. Surrounded by cows and pastures with a short walk to the ocean it was quite a relaxing stay. The house was well stocked and we were able to cook our meals with ease in the kitchen. That being said... definitely want to being your own groceries as there isnt a decent grocery store for some drive. (There is a convenience store with basic stuff at the end of the road though). Easy check in. Would stay here again

Very close to a beach and to a redwood forest. Very spacious house with nice interiors.

spacious, comfortable, clean, lots of places to sit and hang out, quiet location, close to the beach, everything you need - even a water filter in the fridge which is a huge plus. next to cows if that bothers you for any reason but we liked them! 10/10 would recommend and stay there again.

Our host provided wonderful directions for a smooth stay and check in/check out. Location was perfect and allowed for quick drives to breathtaking spots. The beach and National Park were minutes away. We loved that the place was spacious, yet cozy and the decor was warm and thoughtful. It was a wonderful place to bring our crawling baby, as it felt “baby-proofed” and friendly. Everything felt extremely clean and we cannot wait to stay again one day

We loved being so close to the beach and beautiful forest hikes. The home was roomy enough that our teenage boys had space but the living areas accommodated all of us comfortably when it was time to come together. The boys enjoyed the ping pong table and we all played games or streamed movies at night. The kitchen had everything we needed to dine in when we chose. So glad we chose to stay in a more remote area to explore the area. We saw a badger, quail and other birds without having to go anywhere.

We loved every minute of our stay at this house. The house is so Beautiful! in the most amazing location. There were so many birds flying around and singing. Watching the cows in the field and the Redwoods off in the distance was heaven. I can't say enough good things about this house. We didn't want to leave. The place is spacious and spotless. There are bikes provided and the beach is just a short ride away. The beds were so comfortable and the kitchen was fully stocked. We played ping pong and board games and enjoyed reading the books provided. It really is heaven on earth. Fern Canyon and Elk Meadows are just a short drive away as-well as other spectacular hikes. Trinidad is a twenty minute drive away and has lovely restaurants and a great supermarket Murphys. You won't want to leave.

Located about a mile from US101 this place was very well maintained and exactly what we were looking for. Kitchen was well stocked to cook anything you might want. Beds were comfortable. Perfectly situated for daily Redwood Forest hikes. We would definitely stay here again.

This spacious, comfortable renovated farmhouse is perfect for larger families or just people who want some room to spread out. It is halfway between Eureka and Crescent City, so is convenient to all of that part of the redwoods parks.
The house has comfortable beds in rooms which are well separated, so pretty private. The bath downstairs has a jetted tub & there is a half bath for the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen is very well appointed with pretty much everything you would need for home cooking. We didn't use the grill outside, but it is there as well. There isn't a dishwasher, which was not a problem for us.
The setting is pastoral, literally, as there are pastures across the lane. We enjoyed watching the cows & calves go about their day. There was a variety of wildlife in the area as well. Plus, it has an almost private beach! The road to it is paved, but is narrow and a little rough, so not many tourists come down it. The beach at the end of the lane is as fine as any of the more crowded beaches, but there were no other people there the times we walked it, although I have to admit it was late September.
All in all, we very much enjoyed our stay here. I wish we had been able to stay longer.

Stayed for 6 days. Loved it! Hiked the redwoods during the morning, bikes to the beach in the afternoon and ping pong after dinner. We used the full kitchen everyday it was like being at home. Bed was comfortable. Shower water pressure was excellent. Furniture was comfortable with several places to kick back and relax. There was also a full sized desk that came in handy. We loved every bit of it. Next time we plan to bring the grandkids

Great location for our family reunion. Responsive hosts. Grandkids loved the bikes & short jaunt to the beach.

The best part of this home was the location. We saw elk every day we we’re there, we took advantage of being nearby to Trillium Falls, Prairie Creek, Su-Meg State Park, False Klamath (for tide pooling), and Ladybird Johnson Trail. Not to mention the beach and a lagoon only being a 3 minute drive where we happened to see sea lions and otters! We will definitely be back again!

We loved the peaceful, quiet environment and how close we were to hikes in the Redwoods as well as the beach. The house was very well outfitted with everything we may need to have a wonderful time, including toys, books and games for our kids. We could see ourselves staying much longer in the future!

The house is a perfect location to explore and hike Redwood National Park and Prairie Creek State Park. Major hikes all 15 minutes away or less! Bring food, no restaurants in Orick. Trinidad, which has restaurants is 30 minutes away.

Awesome Place to Getaway
The home was perfect for our family to explore the coast and the Redwoods. Being city dwellers, we loved and appreciated the rural location. The home is clean and very well kept. The manager is responsive. We’ve stayed at many vacation rentals and this one is a standout for sure. As others have said, get your groceries on your way. Orick only has one small, but convenient market.

Wonderful, relaxing place to stay
The house was very clean and well-appointed. The power in the community was out almost our entire first day due to a storm but there were so many activities available in the house even my toddler didn't get bored. We loved having puzzles, books, blocks, games, etc., it really made for a great 1/2 day indoors. The beds were firm but comfortable and very clean. The bathrooms had everything you could need. I really enjoyed hanging out in the sunroom reading and after the storm our kiddo loved finding all kinds of frogs and snails outside.
The ONLY drawback was that there was something wrong with the oven. When we turned it on, there was an extremely strong smell of gas so that the back door and kitchen windows needed to be opened and the range fan on high just to tolerate it. The inside of the oven seemed to be collecting soot so I'm not sure if the vent was malfunctioning but fortunately we only needed it briefly one morning.
Otherwise, the close access to the nearly-private beach was incredible. We spent two days exploring all of the close trails & access to the Redwoods parks and generally had a really great time!

The home was beautiful and well equipped with lots of cozy touches - throw blankets, books, games, etc. The location was a little more remote than I anticipated - 1/2hr drive to a true grocery store.

Redwoods and Ocean
The house is perfectly situated between Redwood National and Prarie Creek State Parks, and the ocean. We used our location to hike (and contemplate) amongst the redwoods and enjoy the surf. We biked to the nearby estuary and saw seals from the beach. Orick is small, but you can get groceries and gas in town. The house is lovely, and the four of us enjoyed some quiet times, games and some TV. The beds are comfortable and the neighborhood is most definitely quiet. We would stay again, should we make it back to this area.
