Just as described! Beautiful lower deck for the entire family to enjoy. Loved that each family had their own private cottage. Property was clean and comfortable. It was our first time staying at Whips Cottages and we hope to return for many years to come! Thanks for everything!

Loved the outdoor gas fire pit. It was cold and rainy the first 3 days. But we had fun on the strip. Went to the beach Friday.
The refrigerator in the one cottage quit working at the end of our week and we had to disperse the food to the other cottages. Other than that, it was as expected! Thank you.

Amazing property! Great Location!
We wish we had beach access but it was absolutely beautiful on the deck!
Checked in Sunday and Tuesday around 4pm lost power due to a storm. The whole strip was out till Thursday morning at 1:30am. We checked out that day at 11.
Our family made the best of it!

We really enjoyed our time right in the strip!

Great location just off the strip. Made everything walkable and convenient for our two night stay. Plenty of parking was appreciated. Deck overlooking water was great. Beds in cabins were good. Pull out sofas would have been difficult to put two adults on. I’d only recommend those for kids or adults who don’t care about their sleeping situation. Mirrors next to power outlets would be recommended for future stays.

It was nice to be located on the strip so that we could walk most places. It was our first time in Geneva and we had a nice time. It was nice to have seperate living areas but be right next door. There were 9 of us and it was very comfortable. Very clean & had all amenities.

It's the perfect location. The cottage closest to the lake needs a new mattress in the one bedroom. We noticed it sunk in the middle so i chose this room for my husband and I since I chose the cottage we all booked. I wasn't expecting a top notch mattess, but one where we weren't stuck in the middle all night.
The description should show a.more accurate picture of the lower level deck. You walk down very steep steps. If you have bad knees, it will be difficult to get down them. The view is beautiful once you get down there. We all had an amazing weekend together and loved the center deck. It was our main gathering place. I would stay here again and recommend to friends.

Loved our stay here for our group of 12! Beds were a little small to share, but overall was perfect for our group. The staircase going to the deck overlooking the lake needs some attention (prickly plants need trimmed back), but the porch space between the cabins provided a great place for our group to hang out. The host was great and we would stay here again!

We stayed here with a large group (8 adults, 2 kids, 3 dogs, 1 cat!) during the week of the 4th of July. Overall, we had a very positive experience. There were a few things that could use a little bit more maintenance (the deck overlooking the lake has some loose / missing boards), but they didn't prevent us from using it or impact our experience!
The cabins aren't fancy, but they have what you need! You can cook, and have separate spaces (and bathrooms) for a large group (amazing!), and watch TV. The deck between cabin 2 / 3 is lovely for hanging out as a group (we spent most of our time there). The location on the strip is great for access to restaurants and activities.
As mentioned by some others, noise from the strip can be an issue, especially at the front cabin. We recognized that we were there during a particularly busy weekend, but just be warned that you WILL hear motorcycle and loud live music noise on the weekends.. sometimes until midnight. On the weeknights? It was quiet and peaceful most nights. For us, it was still worth it, but others might be less tolerant! Bring earplugs and/or a noise machine and it will help.
We had one issue with the dryer which was VERY quickly resolved. Super responsive to help us get it working and we were very grateful!! Overall a fantastic stay for our family!

Had a great time at the cottages on the lake. Beds weren't the most comfortable, but for one night, they worked. The garbage was full out on the deck for the middle cottage. That could have been emptied prior to our arrival. We still had a great time.

My 2 sisters and I (ages 70 - 85) had a wonderful stay! We loved each of us having our own cottage for a bit of privacy, and loved how close we were to each other. We enjoyed walking the strip, trying out local restaurants, and the homemade ice cream!

This property is in a great location to access what GOTL has to offer. The deck between the units was a nice gathering spot for our group. It is also nice that there was a significant amount parking available. Would definitely stay here again!

Perfect location! 3 cottages. 6 bedrooms. 3 bathrooms. Firepit with nice Adirondack chairs. We had tons of room for 9 people. Perfect location. Noisy across the street but a noise machine drowned that noise out. Everyone who stayed loved having the privacy of 3 different cottages. Plenty of parking.

The cottages felt like they were secluded even though they were right on the strip. Large trees shaded, kept the cottage fairly cool and there was a great view of the lake. Cottages were clean and would recommend and rent again

We loved the privacy but convenient location. The place is equipped with all that you need but it is spread throughout all 3 cottages.Thesleeper sofas were rough. So we bought air mattresses. The cottage closest to the street had continuous noise from drunks across the street @bar. It also had a bee nest- we called & immediately they sent someone to spray. The conjoining deck was great for all of us to be together. We took 2 dogs & they were able to be with us with gate closed. The steps down to the lower deck were to steep for our older family members to enjoy the lake front. The view was beautiful. We rented a golf cart but we were able to walk everywhere if needed. We had family from 77 years old to 11.since booking my father took I’ll & was having difficulty with mobility. He was able to enter the first cottage ( noisy one) easily with no steps & able to pull car right up to the door. Everyone had a great time. We enjoyed finding rocks decorated from previous family. GOTL is a friendly community. We hope to return.

There were 8 of us that came to visit for a family reunion in Geneva. Cottage was in a great location, both decks were awesome. We stayed for 9 nights, and had a blast on the strip. Spacious enough for each couple to have their own space. Cute place, easy check in, clean, quiet, plenty of parking room off the street. Will be back!

Great having several a cottages together with an outdoor living area. The steps going down to the lower deck, Lake front area deck needs the railing repaired and the steps going down are very uneven and would benefit with a sign stating to use caution. Also there were batteries in the smoke detectors.

Second time staying there will definitely be back.

We loved that each of our children had their own separate space / cottage.

I booked this place for my girlfriend weekend but the guys ended up coming also. It was perfect, each couple had their own cottage for privacy. The common area worked out great we hung out at the picnic table and fire pit. Matt’s response to my questions were prompt and he was very accommodating. The cottages were clean and cute. We would definitely book again.

Every year my husband and I, as a Christmas gift, plan a weekend in the Spring as a little getaway for our kids & grandkids. This year we happened upon the three Cabins on the Strip and what a great place it is. Right on the lake, 3 separate cabins so if you needed your space you could have it and all fenced in so the kids couldn’t go on the road. I would definitely recommend it. Even though we didn’t have the greatest of weather, we had so much family fun!💕

Co-worker friends for over 20 years and I have been getting away twice a year for more than 15 years now. Our normal place had a mixup and put us on the wrong weekend. I reached out to the host Wednesday evening, to see if it was possible for rental Thursday-Sunday even though last minute. He was prompt and when we arrived everything was already to go. I had a question regarding the heat, and the host answered me very quickly. I’ve never been to the area, but it was easy to find, and I’m sure quite busy in the summer. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again during the off season, it was extremely comfortable. I’ve already told multiple people about this particular rental, and others the host has in the area. Looking forward to coming back again!

My family of 8 rented Whips Cottages for a thanksgiving get together and we had a great time. The cottages have been recently remodeled with lovely wood inside, new roofs and siding on the outside. The beds are comfortable and the water heater works almost too well. We didn’t use any of the sleeper sofas for sleeping; it would have been too crowded to sleep six people in the cottages. Trying to cook an entire thanksgiving meal was a bit of a challenge but fortunately we brought our “must have” items with us - sharp knives, hand mixer, and extra casserole dishes. (thank goodness!) It WAS convenient to have three kitchens to work from and we all enjoyed helping with the meal. The cottages themselves are set up in a line running from the main road toward the lake so only one of them (cottage C) is “actually on the the lake”. The first cottage along the road (A) sits next to a winery/bar and across from several other bars so I can only imagine the all night noise that goes on in the summer months. It lasted until at least 2am in the off season… so, if I were staying here again, I would plan for my group to sleep in cottages B & C and then use cottage A for getting together, watching tv (internet didn’t work well enough to use in the other two cottages) and other social activities because sleep is difficult in the cottage closest to the main road. Road noise is VERY loud at that cabin too (can you tell I’m old? Hehe). We enjoyed sitting by the outdoor gas fireplace on the spacious deck between cottages B & C and could have used the grill if we weren’t being lazy. We loved the deck down beside the lake. There are tables and chairs and a wonderful view of beautiful Lake Erie. Keeping the windows open in cottage C sounded like we were at the beach with the waves rolling in wildly. Most of the seasonal businesses were closed but we really enjoyed GOTL Brewery, Old Firehouse Winery, East End Bar & Grill and Sportsterz Bar. The food at all locations was excellent and their drinks were great too. Overall it was an excellent vacay at Whips Cottages and we would love to go back!

Very clean and comfortable. Provided lots of info prior to our visit. We thought the deck was off of the cabin closest to the lake. It was actually a stand alone deck (not attached to cabin) & down stairs. This was not an issue for us; it was just unclear in photos.
Would stay here again.

Cottages were clean and very well stocked with anything we needed. Good location. We enjoyed the decks, especially the great views of the lake. Highly recommended for a group to be together yet have their privacy!

Cottages were perfect. Clean and convenient to everything.

This was an awesome rental - the cabins were so nice and had no musty smell ( I was expecting that after other beach rentals ) , 3 individual cabins was a good idea for the family - each family group had their own - it worked out well. TVs in each room were a big plus. The only downside was the weather-which the host had no control over. we are already discussing renting again in the summer for a longer stay

We have two grown married children and a teenager. This let both married children and their spouses have a separate space while on a family vacation. It was perfect. I can’t wait to go back next year!!

Cabins were very clean and convenient located. Great place to stay to enjoy friends and family. Close together to allow everyone to enjoy the companionship but allows everyone to have their own space.
