About this house rental
Eagle's View, our 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath waterfront house faces the Assateague Channel with a stunning view of Assateague Island, the gorgeous Assateague Lighthouse and wildlife refuge. There are three levels of waterfront outdoor living with our private lighted dock, screened porch, open-air deck and third floor intimate balcony. Adirondack chairs and dining table sets provide plenty of seating for your delicious fresh seafood feasts; a glider on the dock for relaxing and dreaming; a steel-framed hammock on the screened porch is ideal for reading and snoozing! The bright and spacious great room with soaring ceiling overlooks the water and marshes, with the refuge and lighthouse as a backdrop. Two queen master bedroom suites make the home perfect for multi-generational guests. The third floor loft (with water view) is a wonderful respite for kids with their own TV, VCR and DVD library plus board games and puzzles. From the loft a hallway leads to two more bedrooms (two twins in each) and a large shared bath. The nautically-themed bedroom has terrific water views down the Channel to the Ocean Inlet. A dramatic catwalk from the loft leads you to a waterfront balcony where you will enjoy the spectacular view.
The kitchen is fully equipped to provide for all cooking needs with everything from coffee bean grinder, ice cream maker, Kitchenaid mixer to stainless steel crab steamer. We also provide crabbing equipment. The laundry with front-loading washer and dryer is conveniently located near the master bedrooms. There is a powder room off the great room. Master bedrooms have TVs; 2 flat screen TVs are also in the sitting rooms. WIFI throughout. We enjoy watching the wild ponies grazing below the lighthouse, as well as star-gazing and bird-watching, so we provide our guests with the use of our scope.
Relax on the glider on our dock and gaze at the lighthouse, or lose yourself in a good book! Our deck seats 10 to 12 for great seafood dinners off the gas grill, out of the crab steamer or carried out from the many great seafood eateries. Our plentiful video/DVD library provides hours of movie viewing while snuggled up with loved ones on the two couches in the great room. Greet the mornings while watching the sunrise over Assateague Island; you will see and hear the marshes come alive with marsh birds, herons, egrets, turtles, etc. Glimpse the occasional bald eagle soaring overhead, on the way to his/her nest on Assateague. Photograph wading birds and water fowl right from our deck. Vacations at Eagle's View in spring and fall provide the opportunity to view many more species of birds as they travel on the Atlantic Migratory Flyway over Assateague and Chincoteague. When the snow geese fly overhead in late fall, it will take your breath away! End your day with a late evening glass of wine on the deck or balcony and listen for the occasional owl hooting, whippoorwill call or pony whinnying across the Channel. Be mesmerized by the sound of the crashing surf on the Atlantic beachfront!
We have decorated Eagle's View with art from local artists, our photographs, decoys, nautical maps and real antique anchors, to add to the seaside feeling. Our collection of antiques includes oyster plates, faux scrimshaw, shells, decoys and nautical memorabilia. The furnishings are high-quality but comfortable and inviting, making our guests feel welcomed and relaxed in a bright and airy setting.
The quiet location on Little Piney Island, on the Eastside of Chincoteague Island is private yet not remote. We are close to everything! Bike to Main Street or Maddox Blvd. for shops, restaurants, the Island Creamery, the Sea Star Cafe for great sandwiches, carry-out food shops, miniature golf, bumper boats, etc., or to visit the two museums on the way to Assateague. There are no through streets and no commerce on our little island-neighborhood, so there is safe biking for little ones and walking for all. The almost constant ocean breeze is a refreshing delight which really deters the mosquitos. This Eastside location is ideal to access:

Lovely property. Wonderful host. Plenty of space for our family and all the kids. The private dock was perfect for fishing and crabbing. The binoculars and telescope were very entertaining for bird watching and checking out the lighthouse. Thanks for a great, Labor Day getaway!

It was lovely. We enjoyed our stay, there was plenty of space, enough bathrooms and beds for our family of 10. We will definitely rent it again in the future.

This house is incredible. If you enjoy the coastal marsh, serene views, private dock, and all the amenities of a well-equipped house, don’t miss this place. Debbie was responsive and professional and we had an incredible time here! Highly recommended. Thanks!

details of listingneed to be corrected. Listing indicated there were three floors of living space. In fact there are two wiht 2 queen beds/bedrooms on firat floor each wiht their own bathroom!
Also kind of a drag to have to bring sheets and towels.

There are only so many properties that have an unobstructed view of the lighthouse across the inlet and marsh, and this is one of them. Included in that view are all sorts of wildlife visible from the house and dock - birds, fish, crabs, turtles, rays, as well as, at a distance, dolphins and of course the ponies. The location of the house makes it quick and easy to get into town and out to the beach. One expectation-setting thing to note is the main exterior photo in the listing, from the dock back to the house, is rather dated - it was evidently taken before the houses right on either side of this one were built. So be aware there are next door neighbors after all. Issues noted in past reviews including cookware and seating have been addressed. The bedrooms were all comfortable and cozy. AC worked well (good thing since it was a HOT week); wifi was on and off but evidently that's a common Spectrum issue on the island. We enjoyed and appreciated the owner's welcome gift - an ice cream cake from Island Creamery. There were a few maintenance issues during the week that didn't get resolved before we left. We rolled with it. There are signs all over the place with various rules. They detracted a bit from the hominess but not really an issue; I assume it's because they've had some careless renters in the past, unfortunately.

Amazing location. You won’t get bored in this place. Even if you decide to stay at home and just chill, you will have spectacular view from the backyard. Definitely, will go back to this place. Last not the least, great host.

Home was beautiful, perfectly clean, beautiful views, well stocked kitchen, ample parking, no real complaints.
Deborah was very easy to communicate with and always available.
Chincoteague is just as we remembered it from many years ago.
Lovely.

My husband, my daughter, her husband and I stayed at Eagle’s View for a long weekend, and we all had a wonderful time!
So nice that each couple had our own bed/bath suites, plus half bath off the living room. And what a great place for kids—2 BRs, another bath, playroom upstairs!
The kitchen was wonderfully equipped—we cooked breakfasts and a seafood dinner easily.
The deck was lovely in the morning, with a fantastic view of the lighthouse, boats, birds, the marsh—a beautiful place to enjoy a coffee and watch nature awake. In the evening, you can see the lighthouse flashing, and the sunsets are spectacular.
We had much fun at the dock crabbing, watching birds and turtles. Easy, nearby access to the wonderful beach of Assateague. Easy walk to Chincoteague Island Adventures for a fun, informative boat tour and close ups of ponies!
Chincoteague Outfitters are also nearby, help launch kayaks, paddle boards within walking distance from the house.
Chincoteague is a fun, friendly, small town with lots of interesting places to visit and great restaurants.
Eagle’s View was well-equipped with needed supplies and even provided a telescope and binoculars for viewing the ponies from the deck, also games, puzzles, movies (Misty of the Chincoteague!), plenty of chairs, tables on the deck and lower level screen porch, comfortable chairs, sofas. The beds were very comfortable.
Overall a great value.
The host was very helpful, quick to respond.
We can’t wait to return!

We had several family members staying on the island for the 50th Anniversary of the Oyster festival and we have out grown the family home so 6 of us adults stayed for the weekend. The house has great space and was very clean. I really appreciated that the kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with plenty of kitchen tools and everything needed to prepare and serve family dinners including great space indoors and out for dining. The outdoor seating was clean and plentiful and we especially loved the seating on the dock. Like some other guest comments, I hope you will consider replacing the cookware which is really scratched and worn and the small sofas are clean but so worn. I think both of these things would make a great experience exceptional. I did not mind bringing sheets and towels and appreciated the reminder from the property manager. Thanks for a great experience and a terrific home. Much appreciated.

Well appointed home with fantastic views, dock, birds, crabs and a great view of the lighthouse. Very clean and comfortable with a seamless checkin/out process. The local seafood restaurants are terrific and the natural beauty
of the area is certainly worth returning to. We would highly
recommend.

Perfect view of the chincoteague lighthouse. Light of the moon and the lighthouse reflects on the high tidal waters. Quiet.

Excellent location with great views of the bay and lighthouse. The house was great. Not fancy but enough room and privacy for our group of four adults and 3 children. Though a bit outdated inside, it felt homey, cozy, and it was clean. It is close to Assateague and Main St on a backroad way so easy access to the beach, shops and restaurants, but private enough that it was quiet and peaceful.
Downside was the requirement to bring all towels and linens which appears to be common on Chincoteague. Also, minor points - couches were quite old and not very comfortable and the WiFi in the house was weak.
Overall, it was a fantastic family beach vacation.

Great views of lighthouse, chairs on dock were filled most of the time. Lots of birds to see we saw an eagle from the dock - refuge is nice but put plenty of bug spray on and long pants and shirt may be in order if hiking - mosquitoes were bad - Beach however was great An hour drive to ocean city to walk the boards. Overall we loved the house and it served us well during some rainy times. Thanks

Our party was three couples and three pre-teen kids. With four bedrooms and three full baths (and a half bath) there was room and privacy for all! You cannot get a better location than this! It is located directly across from the Assateague lighthouse against the marshes. The home is very well appointed and comfortable (even the mattresses)! The three level of decks afforded views from all over, and the dock was perfect. It was easy to get to the town of Chincoteague and to the reserve. We plan to return again!

Great family vacation. Room for all 11 of us. Quite location. Clean house. Plenty of crabs caught off the pier and with the provided crab pot. Communication with the host was easy. Overall, I highly recommend this property.

Idyllic Piney Island
We are a party of 7, with three generations enjoying the beauty of Chincoteague. This house was perfect for our group—the house is spacious enough for a great family vacation. The dock was perfect for access to the marsh for kayaking and paddle boarding. It was everything that our group needed. This was our third time to the island and we definitely favor the Piney Island area. The house is close enough for bike riding onto the main strip and down to the beach.
Debbie is a pleasure to deal with—we had no problems during our stay, but the check in process is smooth.

Eagle's View pro and cons
The house is centrally located to a lot of activities. Nice view of the lighthouse. Debbie was accommodating and friendly. Our family of 11 had plenty of room and bathrooms. We enjoyed crabbing from the dock, kayaking, bicycling, Asseateague beach and water park. From the picture you can't see the houses that are extremely close to the rental but the neighborhood is quiet. There are quite a few steps front and back on the house if that might be a problem. Be careful of the neighbors dock if you have kids. It needs rebuilt. The pros definitely outway the cons. You will enjoy it.

Beautiful weekend
We had such a great time! Very clean. Everything was close and the view of the lighthouse and ponies grazing on the other shore was so cool! Lots of games and puzzles for down time.

Gorgeous views
This property was very beautiful with a cozy charm (and yet very spacious). Very clean and tastefully decorated. Lots of books/games etc. Amazing views of the marshland. The house had several extra amenities(spices/ice-cream maker etc) we normally don't find in most rentals, but surprisingly had a few regular basics missing(coffee/bounty/dish soap etc). But the property manager Debbie was very kind to drop these off the next morning. I didn't enjoy carrying linens/towels/blankets etc and don't see the issue with covid if they are laundered by the cleaners. Hope that changes soon. But overall, we had a fantastic time and this is one of the best places we have stayed in. You won't regret booking this one.

Great location! All the seafood straight from the dock!
We love Chincoteague and have visited every year (and sometimes twice or three times a year) for well over a decade. We've stayed in many places, but this one has the BEST view of the lighthouse, the water, and the sunrise. It's also the best fishing/crabbing/shrimping dock we've ever stayed in, hands down. We caught enough for dinner almost every day.
The house is super cozy and great for a family, or, as in the case of this last trip, a belated gents trip for my husband to spend a couple days away with a few of his guy friends just hanging out in the quiet.

Extended Family Getaway
My mother, her 3 daughters, their 3 husbands and 4 grandchildren stayed at this lovely house for two weeks to celebrate several milestone birthdays. It was a perfect location with beautiful views and easy access to boating, the beach and town. We did a lot of bike riding to the beach and town, reading on the porch, cooking on the grill and general relaxing. Two of the beds were fold-outs in pretty public areas, so if that doesn't work for people, I'd stick to 8 people. Otherwise, with the outdoor spaces, and plenty of bathrooms, there was more than enough room for a large group. We had an excellent time and always had a quick and kind response from the manager for any question. Thank you!

The place is gorgeous. The pics don't do it justice. It's very cozy, feels like home, and the view is absolutely breathtaking.

Great location and excellent service
We had a great time during our stay with our children. Excellent communication with property manager prior to trip and during (had small internet issue that resolved itself at start but got quick response). The house was well stocked and had everything we needed. The property is on a quiet street with wonderful view but easy access to everything including the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge which you look out to from the deck and dock. You could easily bike into town or to the Refuge. For those interested in kayaking and bring your own, you can from the dock at the house but have to pay attention to the tides at that spot as opposed to other locations on the island. There is a nice screened in porch that has a hose and outdoor shower that was helpful and a large space to store outdoor items/equipment and leads right out to the dock.

Good location, great view, convenient to wildlife refuge.
It was what we expected and had everything we needed. It isn't the newest house on the island but it felt like a home and was well maintained.

Weekend Dream
Eagle's View was everything we could have dreamed of. Spectacular views of the lighthouse and wildlife refuge. Our mornings were filled with sounds of birds and rare sightings of Chincoteague's famous ponys. Our nights were enchanted with a quiet breeze and gentle beams from the Chincoteague lighthouse. We had a frontrow seat to day and nighttime nature sounds accompanied by the welcoming beam..
Eagle's View is a clean quiet home. Completely furnished with everything you could dream of to compete your home away from home feeling, enhanced with local historical decor of Chincoteague Island. Our boys enjoyed ridding their bikes through friendly Chincoteague Island. Instead of filling their nights with video games and TV, they enjoyed watching the lighthouse and reading about historical Chincoteague Island and Eagle's View home. We felt safe and relaxed. We enjoyed stepping away from the fast paced everyday life and enjoying a place where time seemed to slow down and we could enjoy life. My 86 year old father in law was fascinated with the home and views. He enjoyed the books and learning about Chincoteague Island in addition to getting captivated by the View! Thank you and we look forward to staying with you again.

A very special place
Thank you for a wonderful stay! Our family had a beautiful restful week. The house was so welcoming with each room being so inviting with the thoughtful decorations. The main floor is a wonderful gathering place with enough space for the kids to play board games and the family to get together in the adjacent kitchen and around the table. The kitchen was so well stocked with everything. The large deck was also a gathering place especially for breakfasts and sunset and we spent hours looking out at the beautiful view spotting ponies in the distance, egrets, herons and the beginnings of the fall migration. The kids loved crabbing off the pier. The house was also very well situated - a short bike ride or drive to Assateague. What a special place thank you for sharing it with us.

Beautiful Property and View
The home was well appointed, spacious, and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the deck and private dock with spectacular and quite breathtaking views of Assateague Island and lighthouse. Very close to everything to do in town, yet quiet and private. Highly recommend and would stay again.

Beautiful views
The house is small but was adequate for my husband, 2 sons and my parents. The view from the back porch (where you enter and exit) is beautiful and serene, and we enjoyed eating out on the deck. I wish there had been some extras available like we’ve had at other rental homes, like beach chairs/umbrellas. I think because of Covid 19, we had to bring ALL linens, towels and even blankets and pillows, which was somewhat annoying. The kitchen did have some spices available, which was nice, and has most everything you could need. The grill did not have propane, so it was unusable. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and while some of those things noted above would have been nice, it did not impede our ability to enjoy ourselves and the beauty of the setting.

Beautiful Respite
We thoroughly enjoyed our time away. It was a wonderful house for our group. It was just as described and pictured. We enjoyed the gorgeous view from the deck every day. We brought our bikes and rode them to and through the refuge a few times. We enjoyed crabbing off the pier, and our catch was quite tasty! The house was well supplied with everything we needed. I would recommend bug repellent for sure. Chincoteague overall was pretty buggy, except at our times at the ocean. I guess the breeze was enough to keep them away. It was a great week’s escape from all of our current worries.
