I would stay again, if you're looking for high end, possibly not for you. I will return.

No Breakfasts on Sundays, apparently . found a neat spot heading towards nelson so all was well.

Certainly a bit rough around the edges as far as accommodation. In saying that the staff are fantastic, so welcoming and I genuinely enjoyed my time there.

das hotel ist nicht unter dem namen "Backpacker " zu finden. total irreführend. außerdem sind im hotel viele Spielautomaten untergebracht. Die anderen Gäste (fast ausschließlich Männer) waren einfach nur seltsam..... mein zimmer ist das einzige mit einem elektronischen Schlüssel..... hab mich als Frau sehr sehr unwohl und unsichergefühlt.

The place was very hot a fan would have been nice. The bed was to hard, pillows were to soft and flat, no dishwashing brush, no fresh linen for our entire stay no shampoo or conditioner just soap.

There was a flashing light outside our window all night. There was no toilet paper. Our TV did not work, and when we mentioned it they said oh yes, someone is coming to look at it. very dismal overall.

Below par backpacker accomodation (pay for what you get)

Room TV and rear private entrance were good to have

The shared bathroom facilities were in poor condition. These needed to be cleaned and have hand towels and bath mat changed regularly. We were there for 3 days and these were not changed during our stay. The smell of cigarette smoke came through the rooms constantly due to balcony doors being left open and the draught pulling the smoke through. The rooms were very standard with the basics but most things were in poor condition.

Not suitable for disabled or older people.

Food was excellent. Bed was comfortable. But is not suitable for disabled or older folk. Only 1 toilet and 3 showers for all rooms. As it is an older building there was only stairs to go up to accommodation. No handrails on inside stairs about 20 steps. Beds were too close together. No hot water in the sink in the bedroom. Only stayed 2 nights out of the 3 paid for because I could not manage the stairs. But very pleasant and helpful staff.

Musty smelling room. Says it had air conditioning but that was open windows TV did not work.

HORRIBLE!! Room was dirty, didn't have bedsheets. When we asked for that, the cleaning lady went to check and she left the room even more messy and the "clean" bedsheets on the floor for us to make the bed. Also there was old opened soap on the shower, she didn't clean at all.

we checked in on Wednesday we lived there for a week and the bed sheets didn't change until we checked out. I went down, to the reception and ask for bed sheets and the staff said yes but never get the from them. everything perfect except the bed sheets

Mouteka hotel with Te reinga netball

We loved the staff, the owner wasnt there when we arrived but came to meet us when he returned back to hotel. Lovely man friendly couldn't ask for more.Loved the band as there 8 of us and just traveled from north island some of our friends were tired so they stayed up stairs in rooms music wasn't a problem. Thank you too staff scotty, owner for having us and looking after us we will be back.

There is nothing we didnt like. We will return. Loved our showers. We knew what to expect but totally opposite not one problem for our group
