- The Hotel is indeed very close to the ruins
- The sheets had red stains. When confronted the hotel staff told us, that they were oxidation marks from drying (and not blood stains). They changed the sheets. Even if it were oxidation marks, this is unacceptable at this price
- It’s ridiculously overpriced
- The staff is friendly but only speaks spanish - wich isn’t per se bad, but at this price one can expect the reception to speak English
- The hot cakes at the restaurant had a chemical taste

Ideally located next to the Palenque ruins, atmospheric rooms
Pool wasn't really clean

Great location, clean and comfortable. Nice architecture and two pools. One pool or the other has sun or shade, your choice.
Almost nothing. An early morning coffee station would have been a bonus.

- Location deep in the jungle, around 6 km far from the Palenque center, just next to the ruins.
- Pizza was tasty and the restaurant staff accepted to keep half of the pizza that we couldn’t eat for dinner and served us for the next morning.
- Landry service was 40 pesos per kilogram of clothes but was fast and good quality. We received dried and ironed clothes after only 2 hours.
- Pool surrounded by the forest was amazing, especially at the evening.
- In the morning we watched monkeys.
- Colectivo (Ruinas - Centro) passing by for 25 pesos per person.
- The cabaña looked old with lots of opened holes where mosquitoes and insects can enter. I immediately complained about it but they couldn’t solve the problem or provide me another cabaña, even though I said that I can’t sleep and I don’t feel safe.
- Our cabaña was just next to the parking, but it was written that we have a garden view.
- Although the accommodation is in the jungle, it is located next to the main road so cars can be heard until late night.
- Also, in Booking.com is not written that laundry and coffee are with additional charge, but they are.

The location was superb! Howling monkeys, amazing birds on the premises.
On a walking distance from the temples of Palenque.
Pool to cool of after a hot day.
Both the accommodation and the pool could use some more maintenance. In our house there were large cracks (under the door and in the screens) and holes (a frog came through the bathroom wall).
The lights in the room were poor, but maybe that is not to attract anymore bugs.

This property was such a surprise. The meals were delicious and the staff very nice. Oh! And the music on Saturday night was a fabulous.
There was not much we didn’t enjoy but I suppose the pool could have been slightly cleaner. The pool man did his best every morning but the environment was against him.

The location is absolutely amazing, the staff were friendly, pool refreshing, room comfortable, food yummy and the howler monkeys in the trees above our cabin on the first night made for one of the most memorable stays I've ever had!
I wouldn't change anything but guests should be aware that being set in a national park means there may be insects, frogs and lizards in and around your cabin but that's part of being so close to the natural world.

Amazing setting in the National Park backed by jungle. I saw toucans and heard howler monkeys while swimming in the pool - it was a wonderful experience.
Staff are very professional and helpful. The food in the restaurant was tasty. The landscaping/planting gave a nice ambience walking around.
The path to my cabana was broken and uneven.
It could use some recliners by the pool.
soaps were single use - I would prefer a dispenser to reduce plastic.

Sited right next to the ruins, it's a great place to explore from. The cabaña I was in was away from the hotel and was quiet, private and comfortable.
The way they made me sit in a corner around from the bar because I had bought my own 0% beer. This despite the fact that they didn't sell it. If they had, I would have bought theirs.

The grounds, and restaurant were beautiful. The food in the restaurant was decent, they had live music playing which was really lovely and set a really nice environment. The shower was very nice, hot and great pressure. Location is super close to the palenque ruins, we just walked up the road in the morning.
I did not do enough research on the hotel prior to booking, I didn't realize the differences in Cabin's. We chose the cheaper option which was extremely rustic, felt like a small step up from camping. There were holes in the cabin where bugs could get in, but we didn't have a bug net in our room which made for a bit of an uncompfy sleep. We only ended up getting one bite but the room did have quite a few spiders inside. It did seem like the other rooms were better quality if I were to go back I would definately book one of these rooms. Wifi in our room was also not great, all in all was an ok stay just not what we had expected.

Location, setting, restaurant all fine.
Cabin was fine, did not expect more. The premium room for my friends looked nice but had no screens on windows or door, lock on window did not work, no vent for the bathroom (necessary any time especially in humid climate), no curtains on any windows (plants are not sufficient for privacy). Also the booking.com algorithm seems to push the premium room if you request 2 rooms - we would have been fine with two cabins. This happened both times I brought friends there in the last month. Must be able to book two cabins if they are available.

it was beautiful staying right in the jungle, humming birds were buzzing about and little agouti’s were here n there 😍
nothing not to like

The location was very close to the main entrance for the ruins. The property is bearutifully landscaped and the pool was lovely.
No glasses in the room

Everything was just wonderful! The food with so much choice, the delux rooms with extra comfortable beds, the location right next to the Ruins, and in the midst of the jungle national park is truly outstanding... thank you 😊
Be prepared for damp, though this is to be expected deep in the jungle!

I had spent a lot of time at Maya Bell in the 90’s when it was more of a camp, and I was happy to see the improvements there, for the most part. The food was good, there was a lot of selection on the menu. Our room was beautiful, very clean and nicely designed. Private and we had everything we needed. Incredible setting of course. Quiet and comfortable.
As I remember well the old Maya Bell site, I noticed some deforestation on the grounds, which was sad to see. They have done a wonderful job landscaping, and its quite beautiful there, but planting palm trees and bamboo-things that just dont naturally grow in the forest, discourages native animals, insects etc. from living there. The ecosystem is so delicate, and I wish they had taken more care to restore things properly with the expansion. There was a new pond on site as a result of missing trees. Also, it’s nice to have a pool, but it’s a huge structure, seems very much out of place and unnecessary both for the site and the energy consumption. Maya Bell is in a unique position to offer true ‘eco’ experiences, and with some adjustments-such as not selling bottled water and making it easy for Travelers to re-fill their own bottles, would not only make the experience more authentic, but also establish a true commitment to the beauty of the Peten forest.

proximity to Palenque ruins, good restaurant

Beautiful property - very close to the ruins - you can walk there - go in via the exit which is just over the road from the ticket office and climb the hill from there, rather than use the main entrance which is a bit further away
Right next to the jungle so very atmospheric with howler monkeys very much in evidence. nicely laid out with a nice pool for a dip.
Bit awkward to get there - we took a cab but you can get a collectivo from town - use the ruins service - we picked one up very easily on the road outside the hotel when we left
There's a wide range of cabins - some plusher and more modern than others - ours was one of the older ones which was on refection quite small but it was more than adequate and almost in the jungle (which may or may not be a good thing) - just be aware of what you're booking.
A torch handy for getting back to the cabin when it's dark
There's not many options around for food so you're dependent on the on site restaurant - but the food is good

The staff was very kind and the structure was really beautiful! We loved the food and the cocktails! I absolutely recommend it!
